As with all the majors and WGC tournaments, the USPGA is difficult due to the mix of both European, PGA, and Asian Tour players - among others...however, I have put together a criteria that would have missed out on a few winners, yet still have picked out the winner of 12 of the last 18 including last years 60/1 winner Martin Kaymer so there is definitely still money to be made! After last weeks Reno-Tahoe Open the stats for the Hornet Criteria currently look much better on the e/w betting front: EW betting Units Bet - 132 Units Profit/Loss - 27.5 ROI - 20.83% Outright betting Units Bet - 132 Units Profit/Loss - (6) ROI - (4.55%) This week, we have a few criteria which has led us to 7 bets: 1) Won on a major tour this year - 16 of last 18 winners. Only Shaun Micheel and Vijay Singh (first win) have failed to win on the European or PGA Tour in that calendar year. 2) At least 3 top 10s on major tour in the calendar year - 18 of last 18 winners. 3) At least 9 top 25s on major tour in the calendar years - 15 of last 18 winners. Only Shaun Micheel, Rich Beem and Nick Price (1994) have failed to rack up 9 or more top 25s by this stage in the year. 4) Top 100 in OWGR - 16 of last 18 winners. Both Shaun Micheel and YE Yang were outside the top 100 in the world. 5) Top 50 in Ball Striking - 17 of last 18 winners. YE Yang was outside the top 50 in Ball Striking. 6) Top 50 in Total Driving - 16 of last 18 winners. YE Yang and Shaun Micheel were outside the top 50 in Total Driving. 7) Top 75 in Scoring Average - 18 of last 18 winners. 8) Top 10 in their last 3 starts - 17 of last 18 winners. David Toms had a best of T35 in his last 3 starts in 2001 before winning. This leaves us with 7 top players who match the criteria. All those ew bets will be with bookmakers paying 6 places: Rory McIlroy @ 13 outright Ladbrokes Lee Westwood @ 16 ew PaddyPower Steve Stricker @ 31 ew PaddyPower Nick Watney @ 36 ew Bet365 Martin Kaymer @ 36 ew Bet365 Charl Schwartzel @ 51 ew Bet365 Gary Woodland @ 91 ew ToteSport Hopefully these guys will bring some good news come Sunday! An honourable mention must go out to the Scot Martin Laird who matches everything but has a best of T11 in his last 3 starts...an unofficial pick at 100s for me! GL :hope
