Flat Racing - Fri 5th August

Recommended Posts

Goodbye Cash - Lingfield 5.10 - (7/1; Hills BOG) Draw Bias: The inside draw bias at Lingfield AW has been eliminated in recent years by the groundstaff and is as close as you'll get to a fair draw anywhere in the country now. Pace Bias: Tends to favour closers on account of the tight turns which can force a front runner on the rail to change its legs, and lose speed. Race Pace: This race features a field of closers and therefore the early pace will be glacial, which sets it up for a front runner who runs a clever race. Selection: Goodbye Cash I expect to be a front runner. Her wide draw means she will negociate the first turn easily and once in the lead can turn the screw. A horse proven at class 4 and now in this class 6 event. A drop from 7f to 6f should be of benefit. The worry is the old rule "Don't back females June to August" (I.V. 0.65).

Re: Flat Racing - Fri 5th August Macdillon - Newmarket(July) 8.30 - (14/1; Various BOG) Draw Bias: Runners in the centre of the course fare much worse than those by either of the rails. Pace Bias: Course favours those who sit behind the leaders at a good pace. Race Pace: There is no pace in this race whatsoever so expect a slow finishing time. Most of these like to race in the rear so it'll be a case of "how slow can you go?". Quasi Congaree should take the lead from the widest stall but with no runners on his outside he will see too much daylight and run too freely. Not to mention he is well above a mark he is capable of winning from. Selection: This all sets things up for Macdillon who is 2/8 in Class 4 races. He should get ahead of the others on the inside rail and then kick ahead of the slow pace to carve out an unassailable lead.
