PGremlin
Despite the fact that the Alderney Gambling Commission (AGCC) still holds Full Tilt Poker’s license suspended; the Kahnawake Gaming Commission (KGC) considers that this online poker site, still holds a valid license. What this means for Full Tilt Poker is – the KGC has granted them the right to renew their secondary license held in the territory. Initially a hearing was to be held in London on the 26th July – this was to investigate matters surrounding the suspension of the Alderney license. The suspension was allegedly due to US DoJ indictments which took place on the 15th of April 2011. However, the matter appear to be still under investigation by the AGCC, and now a hearing is scheduled to be held before the 15th September. In the meantime, Alderney has notified the Kahnawake regulator, that they still consider Full Tilts’ primary license to be valid. Obviously a suspension does not necessarily mean an automatic cancellation, and the outcome of the hearing is also valid. Full Tilt Poker has been plagued by problems since the closure of their site and seizure of their domain name, with reference to the Department of Justice indictment on all kinds of serious charges – not least of which; money laundering was one. In late June Kahnawake launched a full review of the Full Tilt SCPA (Secondary Client Provider Authorization), as did Arjel in France, which also saw their French license suspended. Kahnawake regulations for an SCPA are dependent upon the online poker operator holding a valid license issued in a primary jurisdiction, but unlike ARJEL, a renewal has been granted. Although Full Tilt is not currently operating a server from their jurisdiction – the KGC granted their holding company a renewal of its SCPA. This renewal is valid for a term of two years until August 1st 2013. The regulator also added that they are ‘closely monitoring the proceedings being conducted by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission’. http://www.casinoscamreport.com/2011/08/04/full-tilt-poker-%E2%80%93-online-license-approved/
