Flat Racing - 22nd July 2011

York 6.00 - Best form on offer could be that of Roninski and Save The Bees and they reoppose here. Up 3lb and 2lb respectively but in form at this kind of level and given a chance here on slightly softer ground. 6.30 - A lot of horses with patchy and inconsistent form but Nomoreblondes has 2 wins and 2 seconds from its last 5 races and is taken to win this race. Most form is over 5f and course winner here over that trip but the race is not the best and may be able to take this over the extra furlong. Boy The Bell looks the best of the rest, has 6f form at a lower level but likes this ground. 7.00 - Gulf Of Alaska is a likely favourite for Dettori but I like maiden runners to have had a run and would favour Saffa Hill, 3rd last time out at this course in a class 3 maiden over 7f. Holy Roman Warrior is also respected for the Fahey/Hanagan partnership and would be the next best for me behind Saffa Hill, maybe worth a forecast bet but not a maiden to go mad on. 7.30 - Hard to see past Sajjhaa but is even money and that might be better over a mile, still looks hard to beat though. Have a feeling Contredanse struggles to get 10f and the two 3 yr olds are interesting at decent prices. Myplacelater is surely better than its last 2 runs and could bounce back to form. 8.00 - Comedy Act is interesting for Johnston/Fallon and was 2nd last time out. Blizzard Blues takes a drop in class and trip and could be more at home in this type of race. Comedy Act seems to like the ground, has a good 2nd to Zigato and won a class 4 handicap at Haydock on gd-sft and can go close again here. 8.30 - Thirteen Shivers is a course and distance winner (off 73) but now races off 10lb higher. That form was franked when Apace won at Haydock and that rival is now rated 86. Form has a consistent look about it and the course win gives us more confidence. Rothesay Chancer is interesting now back at 5f again.
