Progressive Systems?

Recommended Posts

We all know that progressive systems do not work in the long run. Everyone has seen the simulations and your risk of ruin is 100%. One of the big reasons for this is that the amount of variance on most plays is very great. We have all had streaks where we have lost 8 or more in a row. But what if there were plays out there that historically won more than 65% of the time and you were laying -160 or so. What are the odds of losing 8 in a row on a 65% play? The answer is that the risk of ruin on this play is around 3%. My question is what progression system has the lowest risk of ruin? Has anyone ever determined which one is the safest in the long term? Thanks, Veresov

Re: Progressive Systems? Veresov, If you have a profitable system, why would you need to bet progressively? If you don't, then no magic staking plan will turn it around. The safest approach is to bet a percentage of your bankroll. The percentage should be a function of system parameters.
