Re: MLB: June 19th Picks Pittsburgh @ 2.36 pinnacle Karstens is 4-4, with a 2.66 ERA and has allowed 2 runs or less in his last 8 starts (total of 9 runs), including his last 3 road starts, and is coming off allowing 1 run in the 2-1 win over the Phillies. He is 2-0 with a 3.72 ERA in 5 interleague starts, which includeds a win over Cleveland last year. Masterson is 5-5, with a 3.16 ERA and is 0-5 with a 3.83 ERA in his last 8 starts as he allowed 4 runs on 7 hits and 5 walks in the 4-0 loss to Detroit last Tuesday. He has allowed at least 4 runs in 3 of his last 4 starts, and like the Pirates to score here and edge this game. NY Mets -1.5 @ 2.61 pinnacle Niese is 6-5, with a 3.46 ERA and is 4-1 with a 1.58 ERA in his last 6 starts, allowing 2 runs or less in these 6 starts (total of 7 runs), with just 2 runs allowed in his last 3 home starts, as he allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in the 4-3 win over Atlanta. Chatwood is 3-4, with a 4.20 ERA and allowed all 9 runs in the 9-0 loss to Kansas last Sunday. He has allowed 3 runs or more in 3 of his last 4 road starts (total of 13 runs) and can see the Mets scoring a few runs on him here. Tampa Bay -1.5 @ 2.17 pinnacle Shields is 6-4, with a 2.60 ERA and has allowed just 4 runs in his last 4 home starts. He is coming off a complete game shit out over Boston, allowing just 5 hits, and is 3-1 with a low 1.35 ERA in 5 day starts. Shields has already faced Florida this season, allowing just 3 hits in a complete game shut-out, as TB won 4-0 last month. Volstad is 2-7, with a 6.07 ERA and is 0-6 with a 6.39 ERA in his last 9 starts, allowing less than 3 runs just once in these 9 starts. He allowed 8 runs on 10 hits in the loss to the Phillies and has allowed at least 4 runs in 4 of his last 5 road starts (total of 24 runs). With Florida having lost 16 of their last 17 games, and TB winning 8 of their last 12 games, like the Rays to win this one. Minnesota -1.5 @ 2.43 pinnacle Liriano is 4-6, with a 4.67 ERA but is 3-2 with a 1.89 ERA in his last 6 starts, as he allowed just 1 run on 2 hits in the 6-1 win over Texas last Sunday. He has allowed 2 runs or less in his last 6 starts (total of 8 runs) and doubt the Padres do much here as they struggle to hit and score runs. Moseley is 2-6, with a 3.16 ERA and though he has allowed 2 runs or less in 4 of his last 5 starts, he is facing an inform Twins batting line up, and with the Twins having won their last 5 games over San Diego, like them to add another win here. St Louis -1.5 @ 2.15 pinnacle Garcia is 6-2, with a 3.18 ERA as he has allowed 3 runs or less in 9 of his last 10 starts. He allowed 3 runs in the 9-8 win over Kansas last month, while he has allowed just 1 run in his last 3 home starts. Duffy is 1-2, with a 5.04 ERA and has allowed 3 runs or less in 5 of his last 6 starts, including 3 road starts, but has yet to go past 6 innings in these 6 starts. Garcia looks the better pitcher here and like the bats to give him some run support, especially if Duffy continues to walk the batters. Detroit -1.5 @ 2.25 pinnacle Verlander is 8-3, with a 2.66 ERA and is 6-0 with a 1.84 ERA in his last 8 starts, (total of 13 runs) allowing 2 runs or less in these 6 wins. He has allowed just 5 runs in his last 3 road starts, and is 12-2 with a 3.43 ERA in 17 interleague starts. Cook is 0-1, with a 3.97 ERA and has allowed 5 runs in his 2 starts but has not gone past 6 innings in either of them. The Tigers hit well and like them to get to Cook as they look not to get swept here Philly -1.5 @ 2.15 pinnacle Hamels is 9-2, with a 2.49 ERA and is 5-0 with a 1.97 ERA in his last 7 games, as he allowed 1 run on 3 hits in the 9-1 win over Florida last Tuesday. He has allowed 2 runs or less in 5 of his last 7 starts (total of 12 runs) which includes just 7 runs allowed in his last 3 road starts. Philly have won 8 of their last 9 games and like them to get to Vargas. He is 4-4, with a 4.13 ERA as he allowed 5 runs on 6 hits in the 6-3 loss to the Los Angeles Angels last Monday. Vargas has allowed at least 3 runs in 4 of his last 5 starts (total of 19 runs) which includes at least 5 runs in 2 of his last 3 home starts (total of 11 runs), and with the very good Phillies batting line up, like them to get to him here. June picks: 28-42 (-3.59) May picks: 31-73 (-30.18) April picks: 45-56 (+2.52)
