BBOTD Wednesday 8th June

Recommended Posts

3.20 Haydock Dansili Dancer e/w 10/1 PP DD travelled well last time out before being outstayed. That was a better contest than this and that was the horses 2nd run after a break, so could come on for the run. On his day, DD is a very classy horse winning decent handicaps off marks in the 90's. He won over CD a few years, and although his best recent runs have come on the all weather, he looked on the way back lto. He has been dropped another lb after his run lto and has John Fahy claiming 3lbs so should be able to run well in this contest. There are plenty of young pretenders in this race in the form of Kitty Wells, Dance Tempo and Line of Duty but they all have to prove themselves in this better grade. DD has the form in the book and should be able to run well here. He was in cracking form towards the end of last year, winning a very good listed race at Kempton and then finishind 2nd in the Winter Derby. With that run under his belt back on the turf, he can run a big race here.

Re: BBOTD Wednesday 8th June Mister Angry 3.20 Haydock 25-1 William Hill (BOG) Each Way This horse is out of form but looks capable of bouncing back when least expected. Had finished 11th of 16 at Goodwood, beaten 13 lengths off 85 and then followed up with a win at Ascot off 84. Races off 85 today and funnily enough ran last time out at Goodwood but off 88 and was 10th of 11, beaten 23 lengths. Joe Fanning takes the ride and has won on the horse before, romping clear in a class 4 handicap off 77 at Ripon on good to firm and won by 13 lengths that day. Gets the trip and goes on the ground, out of form as mentioned but only 1lb above its last win and Mark Johnston is leading trainer at the course and his horses are in very good form at the moment, 12 winners in the last 14 days and Fanning has 9 wins in the last 14 days, including a win on Monday night at Ponty on board one of Keith Dalgleish's horses. Kitty Wells should be close but is 5lb higher than last time out, Porgy won well 5 days ago and carries a 6lb penalty and Dance Tempo won well but is up 9lb. All those at the head of the betting have something to prove up in ratings. Line Of Duty is a last time out winner too and is up 6lb. A very decent race for a Wednesday with plenty in form but this 25-1 looks too big despite the horse running like a dog recently.
