Irish Racing

Recommended Posts

I live in Ireland, the north I might add, but have now decided to completely ignore irish racing. Unless there is a major move in which case I might have a small interest bet. So many times fancied horses are turned over and someone I know in my local bookies has a number of good connections down south who states that the trainers down there 'take turns to get a winner' apparently its a bit of a gentlemans agreement of sorts to spread the wealth and keeps smaller stables alive. I mean how many times have you seen 16/1 20/1 and even 33/1 winners with no sort of form and a short priced favourite running nowhere? So thats it for me with the nonsense racing down south, any thoughts would be welcome.....

Re: Irish Racing I don't follow the Irish racing here either Andy. I was at Down Royal at a night meeting Friday week ago and the racing was dire to say the least mixed card flat/hurdles seven races. I just treat it as fun night out it only cost £8 for that you got entry, race card a pint and a beef roll as well as £5 free win bet that was through Groupon. Two favs obliged, the winner of the 2nd race won at 25's paid £191.70 on the tote!
