Newcastle 4.30 Apache Blue 1pt win - 5/1 Paddy Loved the way he responded for pressure to lead before the last and win coisily lto. That was his first run after a break and I expect him to improve and be competitive off his revised mark today. On his 1st start for John Wade he finished 3rd and the 2nd from the race went on to win 2 races after. The selection is by Presenting and will appreciate the spring ground, but unfortunately I'm not so sure what the situation at Newcastle is. Going by the description, it looks really inconsistent - g/s, soft in places and good in places. Maybe again the watering has been bad like at Newbury last week, but despite that, I rate this horse as an improver and I think he is worth a point at the price.
