Good For Blue - Wetherby 2:40 Even though this horse is a 9 year old, it has only ever had the 8 runs, inning one of those over 2m 4f at Huntingdon in February last year which is interesting, maybe February is the time to catch it? I was very pleased with its run last time out at Huntingdon, where it was its first run on the back of a break and ran an eye-catching race, 4th to Heez A Cracker over 2m 5f on soft ground. The horse that was just behind him in 5th that day, Premier Des Marais, hacked up as far as i know a few days ago for Gary Moore which franks the form. It went off at 25/1 last time out but traded at a low of 2/1 on Betfair in running, it travelled very well for a long way and should come on leaps and bounds for the run. Richard Johnson also does well for Mr Phillips. 1 Point win @ 9/1 (>Bet365) BOG

Re: Jumps Racing - 22nd of Feb 3.05 Taunton - 0.5pts e/w Laneguy @ 20/1 (StanJames) Pretty grim handicap chase this one, but Laneguy looks an interesting runner and must have a chance on its best form. Close 2nd in a point to point and another good run when falling hopefully will bode well for Laneguy's chasing career, and was twice placed in maiden/novice hurdles - even if beaten quite a distance. Pulled up in a handicap hurdle in May, and the same result was the case on its return/chase debut in October. If forgiving him that, as he was entitled to need it, it's 6th of 7 last time, whilst not looking great, isn't actually too bad relative in this race. The 5th was rated 105, the 4th has won twice since (now rated 109), the 3rd has run okay since, the 2nd has been narrowly defeated, and the winner - War Party - has hacked up since and is now rated 118. The step up in trip is fine and has been dropped 5lbs. Worth a punt at a big price in a poor race.

Biased, but I thought this would have won had it not been virtually stopped/brought down. Was jumping brilliantly and kept being pulled back by Brennan. Wasn't even beaten a huge distance to say it had stopped running. Gutted.

Re: Jumps Racing - 22nd of Feb Wetherby 17:00 Ebanour 10pts win @ 1.61 Bet365 BOG Bred well and may be able to have a good Flat career if sent that way. Bred by His Highness The Aga Khan's Studs S C. Cost, £120,000 at Doncaster November 2001. From the top team trio of T G Leslie, Donald McCain, and Jason Maguire. Half-Brother to five winners including Ebaziyan. By Indian Ridge and dam won Irish Oaks and French Leger. Runners from J Howard Johnson (Skirlaw) and Kate Walton (Cool Doctor) are the two I like best to take minor places.

Re: Jumps Racing - 22nd of Feb Taunton 17:20 Vacario Capable of doing the least expected, can be competitive, perhaps need a top jockey booked to get in the money. Sam Thomas is booked and he comes to Taunton for just one ride. He's top jockey at the track for this field and he's also the jockey having the best form the last 14 days. The selection had been in good spots late in the race but did not have a jockey that can get into his reserves. 1pt ew @ 21.00 Stan James BOG
