5.00 Wolverhampton John Potts has to have a solid chance back round here, he completed a CD four timer in confident style on penultimate start, was disappointing last time out over a mile at kempton but has every chance to bounce back over CD again. He doesnt look a tricky ride nor does attitude look a problem so why it took him so long to get in front is an obvious concern but Harrison has ridden him to 3 of those victories so know what he is like! Lean Machine has hinted at ability before and finally got off the mark last time out, perhaps wasnt all out but not far off it but handicapper taken a light view of that win only putting him up a 1lb so should still be competitive having slipped so far in handicap. Re: Flat Racing 21st Feb 6.00 Wolverhampton Mount Hollow 2pts win 9/2 William Hill Spin again was given a great ride last time out by this jockey but don’t think today will be so easy. Can’t see this horse getting a soft lead today and although the jockey has been riding well, I think she will be found out. Saying that she did ride a great race last time out so she isn’t entirely dismissed. I am not a fan of female jockeys and will very rarely back a horse with one on it. West Leake has been running well recently since being stepped up to 7f. Think this further increase to 58 may just find him out though. He has found it tough to win off marks around this high in the past. Mr Emirati has to be respected for connections and has been unlucky to run into the progressive Steed at Southwell. The horse’s only win did come at Wolverhampton so maybe a return to this track may bring about a little improvement although he has been creeping up in the weights without winning. Dimaire has never won a race and always seems to find 1 or 2 too good which is what I think will be the case today. Also I feel the horse will need this after a break. Gordy Bee has a similar profile and has never won a race and is probably not as consistent as Dimaire. This horse has been running at Southwell most recently, so unless the chance of track and drop back to 7f brings about a lot of improvement I can’t see him getting involved. Cut and Thrust has the best of the draw today and has gone close off higher marks in the past. Is capable of going from the front so might just be the one to set the tempo today. Wasn’t that far behind Rubenstar (who is a lingfield specialist) last time out so has an each way chance here. Forward feline and just Timmy Marcus find it very hard to win and I am hoping they will find 1 or 2 too good today. That’s leaves me with 2. Firstly Piccolo Express was unlucky last time out after getting away well first time around only for there to be a false start and then getting away last. He never looked comfortable with the terrible kick back at Wolverhampton but still managed to come from the back to nearly get up on the line. The horse is in cracking form and should run another big race here. The horse showed that day that he can be competitive off this mark. The one I like though is Mount Hollow. Last two runs have been good and was unlucky not to win 2 runs ago. Stepped up to a mile last time out the horse travelled well but didn’t really find much for pressure and was beaten by a horse most definitely on the improve in Resuscitator. Think the way this horse travels through his races, the drop back to 7f will help this horse. He has a good draw in 3 and will hopefully be able to get out and just sit in behind the pace and swoop past the pace setters late on.
