12:55 Cheltenham Maoi Chinn Tire 2pt win - 10/1 (William Hill) The chances are this horse was made to look a lot better than it actually is when hacking up at Wetherby at 200/1, but my first thought here is that WH have significantly overpriced her, and some other bookies would agree with the horse at 6 and 7s elsewhere. MCT never ever raced over a mile on the flat but stepped up to 2m over hurdles and looked very professional. Jumped well, travelled supremely well and drew clear to win by nine lengths. The formlines don't amount to a great deal, Grandouet clearly ran nowhere near his best that day. The leaders went off very quickly and Grandouet was chasing a strong pace which saw him tire badly late on. MCT was held up well towards the back and the fast pace would've helped massively. Whether or not this horse is good enough to beat this field of promising juveniles, I don't know. At 10/1 though he is massively overpriced.

Have been following this horse since his run behind Peddlers Cross at Cheltenham and was massively impressed with his debut over fences. Although he didn't jump brilliantly he won easily, pulling readily clear after the last fence. Went to Cheltenham and was coming back onto the bridle when falling in a race Time For Rupert won. If you take the Peddlers Cross form literally (no reason not to), and the fact that he easily beat a 131 rated hurdler by 11 lengths on chasing debut, then running off a mark of 140 could be hugely lenient. Definitely think he is better than that and the 12's on offer here, despite top weight, are massive.
