Backing short priced favorites

Hey guys.. Does anyone had any success backing short priced horses/greyhounds at short odds (ie: $1.60 mark) What are the mathematics involved to come out on top, im thinking of trying it out, as these things seem to almost come in 9/10 times, just wondering if anyones had any success/failure with this? Im thinking of picking one special per day, probably australian greyhounds, and that will be my only bet of the day, and see how I go.. any advice tho before I get started would be fantastic! Cheers guys, Howie.

Re: Backing short priced favorites We usually have 3-4 greyhound meetings per day, in my state alone, so I am getting the "best bets" for every greyhound meeting, and eliminating with the following:

  • Must have won last start
  • Must have fastest qualifing time

Anyone have any other suggestions before I get started on Tuesday? If on average they are paying $1.60, whats the win/loss ratio i need to profit?
