skinnyman9000
I have a very open ended question for you guys, and i understand that the answer will differ depending on what you're trying to achieve with your betting, BUUUUUT...... when do you feel is the best time of day to place your bet? If you're purely interested in the daily horse racing, then when do you feel is the best time of day to obtain the best prices? Im mainly interested in obtained the best value on Betfair as i run a trading system. Im at work all day, so even though i can check the prices from time to time im not in a position to closely follow the market throughout the day, or react to them. At the moment im placing my back bet before i leave in the morning (at around 7am), and then placing my lay bet in the hope that it gets matched. Some days i will notice the price drift by mid morning, others it will shorten. But im wondering, is there generally a specific point in the day when the best prices are available? Im concentrating on short priced well backed favourites, so it takes a fair chunk of money to move the market too. Regards
Gingertipster
Re: Very open ended question The Betfair site may be working to less of an over-round nearer off time. But I find more ricks late the night before or early morning. I also don't like backing value selections who've gone out through my tissue price to a (according to my 100% book) value price. If they are a bigger price at midday then I always think someone knows more than me about its fitness etc (unless I am at the track and see his wellbeing, then I back them).
