Re: Genting Poker Players Championship 20/21/11/10 Birmingham UK POKER PRO’S PRIMING THEMSELVES FOR GENTING POKER PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP Circus Casino, Star City, Birmingham – November 20th/21st 2010. “With £10,000 added to a £150 buy-in tournament, rather than being an event that you choose to play, the Genting Players Championship now stands out as one that you can’t afford NOT to play.” Karl Mahrenholz, professional poker player. With such fulsome praise, it is not really a surprise that the many of the UK’s leading players are already counting the days to the most exciting new addition to the UK poker calendar, The Genting Poker Players Championship. And with £10,000 added to the pot by GentingCasino.com and the buy in at a very reasonable £150 + £15 buy-in, the two day event commences on Saturday 20th November 2010 at the Circus Casino, Star City, Birmingham and is hosted by Mad Marty Wilson, one of the most well known faces on the UK poker scene. The GPPC promises to be a fabulous addition to the UK poker calendar as Mahrenholz confirmed, “I for one will be making the trip to this event for as many times as they dare put it on! As a professional player, added value is something that you always look out for, especially today, when there is such a wide selection of tournaments available, but adding £10,000 to an event with a buy-in of £150 is phenomenal value and Genting is to be applauded.” Fellow professional and former England cricketer, Ed Giddins concurred when he added; “"GentingCasino.com has raised the bar for UK poker tournaments, offering great value to players by adding £10,000 to the prize pool for the Players Championship. It is an affordable buy-in and a great schedule over a weekend. Genting are running some fantastic promotions for poker players at the moment, both online and in their live rooms, so it’s well worth checking them out." “It is great that the tournament is already creating such a buzz on the poker circuit,” said Peter Nolan, Managing Director, GentingPoker.com. “Players told us they wanted a top class weekend event, affordable entry, lots of added money and a terrific location, and that is what the Genting Poker Players Championship is delivering.” “The tournament is for professional and recreational players alike, with fully dealer dealt 10 seat tables. We are about creating a poker community at Genting Poker, both online and through the poker rooms at our casinos.” Genting TV will be covering the event with live streaming for those that can’t attend plus recorded player interviews which will be available on www.gentingpoker.com for friends and family to watch. Genting Poker, Circus Poker, ATRPokerClub and TGF Poker are the poker sites offering qualification packages and buy-ins to the event. No physical buy-ins at the club will be accepted, so to get a seat into this exclusive Genting Poker event, you will need to buy-in or qualify online at one of the great Genting poker or affiliate sites: Tournament entry strictly capped at 400 players. No seat transfers allowed and full details can be found online at; www.gentingpoker.com/playerschampionship

Re: Genting Poker Players Championship 20-21 Nov Birmingham Had a good day at Birmingham although the tourney was an hour late in starting, which did have its advantages as i got to see arsene wenger throwing his water bottle about, which was quite funny. Anyway to the poker, there were 300 runners and most started with 10k in chips, 30 minute levels. The first decent pot was with 5 limpers, i have k 10, flop 10c 9c rag, i bet 600, got raised to 1500, i call, turn is a brick and other guy pushes for 1700, i don't like it, but i don't think i can fold for the price, he flips over aces and hit the k on the river:$ Next big pot is where someone does a 3bb raise and guy on my right pushes for about 8k, i look down at jj, have a think but figure i have to call so push my 12k in the middle he turns over 1010 and my jacks stand up. At the dinner break i am up to about 35k, with the field having halfed to about 150 runners. Sit down after the break and the blinds are 800 1600 with a running ante of 200 i think, so although i nearly have double the average i still only have 20 bb's. The one hand that hurts me is when i raise to 3700 holding 66, and a guy pushes for another 7200, i don't like it, but with 12k already in the middle i figure i have to call, he flips over 77, they stand up. After that i had a couple of hands where i lost some chips and picked a few up, but cards pretty much dried up and i eventually pushed on the button with k6 clubs for about 14k and got called a5 clubs, which stood up. To be honest the structure was pretty fast with us starting with 300 runners at 3pm and wanting to be down to a final table by 2am, with a 90 minute dinner break thrown in too. But as it only cost me a tenner to qualify it was good value.:ok
