So nervous about tonight. My heart is saying a tight win for Wales but my head is saying it will be a bore draw. The national anthem is being sung a capella by the Welsh fans so that will be something to experience. I said at the time though that the late goal conceded against Georgia at home would come back to bite us and I think it will. I can see us drawing, finishing 2nd, and not qualifying for the not play-offs.

@silver fox, @Division, and @Marc Kearney, you guys post regularly in the League of Ireland thread. Any thoughts on the game. I'd definitely back under 2.5 goals.

I am shitting myself too. But Wales can do it I know they can.

1-0 and a nervous last eighty minutes lol..

  2. Slovenia v Scotland DRAW

Slovenia are a tough nut to crack, and understand they're doing their neighbours Slovakia a favour by holding Scotland.

    Norway V Ireland DRAW

Ireland can only get into the play-offs and they only need a draw to do so. Expect the bus to be well and truly parked in this one.

    Lithuania v England UNDERS

England were crap three days ago. Under 3.5 comes in at 1.4. Lovely and safe that.

  3. Okay I am betting on Wales to win both their remaining games. The odds are spot on when you consider that this is the same team that got to the Semi-finals of the Euros only last year and then drew their first five matches through a sheer hangover and nothing else.

They are still a formidable team and the odds show the respect for that.

And they now know they have to go for it. Which is what got them to the semis of the Euros.

    It's Petar Zanev. :ok

Bale ruled out for Wales. Massive blow and just typical of our fortunes in World Cup qualifications. If it's not Joe Jordan cheating us out of qualification or Paul Bodin smashing a cross bar from the penalty spot then it's Bale getting injured.

Still, Welsh fans are all in agreement that Bale has been off-form all qualification campaign. We would be more concerned if one of Williams, Davies, Ramsey, or Allen were ruled out. They are the players that really keep our flow going as we saw out in Serbia. I am still hopeful we can get the win out in Georgia. The Republic of Ireland game now becomes a lot more interesting. We are definitely up against it though. I think if we win in Georgia then we have momentum and the home crowd will more than compensate for Bale's absence. I'd back under 2.5 goals in both of those matches though.

    That fxuking sucks.

He was just hitting a vein of form again.

Still, we are more than one man and this is a chance to show our quality.

Useful. Could the real shim shady please sit down.

Honestly, I can see this game going either way. It could be they go on to win, or they the end up losing. They might draw, but who knows? If they get the same amount of goals it wouldn't be a big surprise. But then again, if one of the teams manages to get one more goal than the other one then there'll be a clear winner by the end of the match. It's anyone's guess.

You might think I've went a wee bit mental but I think Hibs can get a result at Celtic today.

I think it's something like 58 domestic games without defeat for Celtic but they must lose sometime, right?

We could be playing them at just the right time after their 2 huge games in a week, a win in the old firm derby and the Champions League victory on Wednesday could possibly see them a little bit flat today, they're also missing Brown and Armstrong. Hibs are playing decent stuff at the moment and should really be further up the table if they'd converted more of the multiple chances they create. I think we can score today and then you never know, Hibs at 12.00 is worth a couple of shekels. :loon

Got to love your enthusiasm mate.

They say don't bet on your own team. I've been having some good luck recently on my Swansea bets, but staying well clear this week. West Ham will probably beat us but you never know.

Hiibs might get a big rodgering too...

    Everton V Burnley

    Burnley +1 AH @ 1.714 Matchbook

Fading Everton in this match seems to be public bet of the week and that always makes me feel uneasy but the metrics really do favour Burnley here.

Everton are in poor form right now, they lack a playmaker who can make the game from midfield and drive the team forward. Gueye, Schneiderlin and Davies all have tremendous energy and industry but it's hard to call any of them a playmaker. Upfront they lack a ruthless goalscorer and have to rely on inconsistent match winners such as Rooney and Sigurdsson.

Not only did Everton play on Thursday in Europa League, which is usually a drain, but they contrived to draw a game they should have won and now the Goodison faithful are starting to get lary. This does not bode well for the spirit level in home matches.

As for Burnley, I've been impressed with them away from home this season, they're strong defensively and make quick transitions to hit the opposition on the counter. The ELO ratings also favour Burnley in this fixture with a half goal advantage and Sean Dyche's team is either ahead or level on a lot of other important metrics.

To me it seems Burnley are just the kind of dogged and difficult opposition that Everton would rather not face at this momment in time. Everton have clear quality advantage in terms of personnel and their match winners can kill you from out of nowhere but I think Burnley on the +1 line offers a decent safety net given the circumstances which surround this match.

Ultimately it's a difficult game to call, Everton have a clear quality advantage but it's hard to ignore Burnley on such a big line in these circumstances. Will be interested to see how this one plays out.

Burnley should win this match. Siggy was a goal scorer for the Swans, for sure, and saved our skin many a time, but he was not worth 45 Million. He made a killing on that one.

Everton are sluggish. Siggy a set piece scorer, Williams and Rooney over the hill.

  8. Two or three times a season the bookies jack up the odds because what's the point of betting if you don't win sweet fa when you do win?

So they'll make it tasty to keep us keen. They want us to think we have a decent chance every so often. This happened last week with the likes of Spurs Man U Celtic and Chelsea all at 1.7 or so.

This week it's back to normal. Don't be fooled by the odds on Liverpool or Everton. Newcastle have a good record against Liverpool and they have a tough match tomorrow night Champions League.

Everton same - Burnley have a week between games. Everton don't.

    Burnley are workhorses.

    Swansea v Watford

Watford look in really good nick this season so far, and I see no reason they can't take care of Swansea at generous odds. The ratings have them way way ahead, which makes the 3.25 at Bet365 very juicy.

Swansea have lost both their home games, conceding 5 and scoring 0. Watford have won both their away matches, scoring 4 and conceding 0.

Serious value on Watford here. :ok

Swansea conceded 4 of those 5 against Man U.

They also just gave us a masterclass in parking the bus last week.

The odds on Watford are too short and should about 3.8.

  10. For such a barren soccer summer, we are being spoilt. Confederate cup and U21 were good, and so far, this tournament in USA is proving V. entertaining. Man U beat Man City 2-0 the other day and Barca currently getting revenge against Juventus, 2-0 as of half time. It's a good game. And on the 29th we have another El Classico. Awesome.
