  1. Accenture Gonna steer clear of potential 'multiple heartache' with the early matches and grasp the nettle and go for an outright: Loren Roberts 125/1 (Skybet & Totexpress) They pay 1/4 odds for reaching the semis, which will do me fine. Roberts reached the Quarters two years ago, in the last 2 years has lost in the first round, but has taken his games to extra holes against Sergio Garcia (21) and Mike Weir (26). Fabulous putter, had a steady start to the year, and i like the fact that he had a good showing last week in the Knee-san without getting too close. Will probably be back tomorrow with another attempt.

  2. Re: Accenture World Matchplay Golf Championships I think this is one of the hardest events to pick a winner, or even a place. Great info by Yer Man above.:clap Looking through the list demonstrates how hard it is, only 2 previous winners in the field. Catching a player right is more important this week than any other, to win they need to come through an 18 hole match per day on Wed/Thu/Fri, 2 18 hole matches on saturday and a 36 hole final on Sunday. Thats 6 matches and potentially 144 holes without going through any major sticky patches. Having said all that it ain't gonna stop me from having a go. :ok

  3. Re: bets... watched the latter stages of the 1st half and all the second. Thought too that Bradford were pretty hot, except in the conversion department (I needed a few more to go over for me to collect), I think we get too used to Deacon monotonously slotting them over. I think it sets a real high standard for any other aspiring teams to follow, and for entertainment value hope Warrington and Wakefield come up with the goods tonight.

  4. Bradford v Wigan Been having a look at the results over the last few years for this fixture, which is traditionally a high scoring affair. The weather is set to be fine for tonight so can see this trend continuing. 18/10/03 Bradford 25 Wigan 12 21/6/03 Bradford 22 Wigan 35 13/4/03 Bradford 36 Wigan 22 14/9/02 Bradford 32 Wigan 12 24/5/02 Bradford 28 Wigan 26 30/9/01 Bradford 24 Wigan 18 16/4/01 Bradford 35 Wigan 24 30/6/00 Bradford 18 Wigan 30 Totals quotes for tonight’s game Bet365 5/6 over/under 43.5 BlueSquare 13/8 over 46 Sportingodds 15/8 over 48 On the above games the over has gone in 6 from 8 at 43.5, but for the sake of 3 points am gonna be greedy and go for the BlueSquare line.

  5. Saints v Hull FC Matt dunno whether this helps: Got this from the Hull FC website “The Saints have a domineering record over Hull FC since the Black and Whites were promoted into the top flight at the end of 1997. In fifteen meetings from 1998 to this present day, the lads from Merseyside have recorded twelve victories with the Airlie Birds just three. However, two of those three wins for Hull FC occurred last season at the KC Stadium. It finished 30 - 6 on Monday 26 May and 42 - 18 on Sunday 24 August. As for the clash at Knowsley Road on Saturday 9 August, that finished 28 - 18 in favour of the hosts” Hull have 8 players out, Jason Smith being the best of them. Even though Saints had a bad season by their own standards last season, they were still pretty strong at home, only the defeat by Wakefield would be seen as a shock. If think wit these early round matches the reputations of sides count for much with the compilers.

  6. Rugby League Looking forward to the start of both our Superleague and the NRL seasons, have found the last few seasons more enjoyable as a viewer than a punter (got a few matches spectacularly wrong), although the Sky NRL coverage on TV in the Uk is normally 'as live' rather than live. With more bookies starting to bet on totals for games, will look forward to some weather info if poss. :ok Gonna hopefully put something up tomorrow for Bradford /Wigan.

  7. Re: The Nissan Open Am also looking to oppose Vijay Singh in a match bet. There has got to be a reason why a guy who plays 30+ events per year has only played here 3 times. Does any one know of any odds comparison sites that list the bookies match bets? I used to use the one on tour-tips, but as that included the head to head records, the list has gone with trhe stats becoming subscription only.

  8. The top two in the outright market, Woods and Singh are at single figures but have not got a victory here between them. Would like to go with Charlie Howell III outright but not too sure he can repeat last year's heroics. So going for a match bet this week Freddy Couples to beat Jerry Kelly 9/10 Bet&Win Boom Boom has missed just one cut here in the last 20 years has won it twice and has had 11 top ten finishes Jerry Kelly on the other hand in his 7 visits has 2 top tens and missed the cut 3 times. There is not a lot to choose between them on this year's form, but I feel that as Couples is a difficult player to catch right, you will have more chance backing him in a tournament in which he has performed consistently well.

  9. Re: footie system (sort of !) In a similar vein where I see a set of match prices where the teams odds range from 5/4 - 7/4 indicating the teams are evenly matched I often find myself swayed to backing the away team as I feel that the only reason the away team is not clear favourite is because of the venue. Does this theory hold water, or is it another case of clutching at straws. I am afraid I don't have any stats to back this up.
