  1. Re: Betting on the Championship. Tips and tricks?

Throughout my life I have mostly been betting on the bigger leagues (PL, La Liga, etc), and I am guilty of not making enough time to post thorough posts on what I bet. Normally, I am juggling a few things at a time and just about have time to lurk around the forum. However, I am hoping to get more active here and start posting tips while I endeavour to move into betting on a lower league. I have chosen the Championship as the one I would like to look more into for a few reasons: 1. It's competitive and entertaining. 2. I can watch the games live for cheap. 3. It probably not as bent as say the French Ligue 2, or the Italian Serie B. Thoughts? 4. Even though one could make more money on even leagues even lower than the championship or the foreign second divisions, due to less interest on them by punters and hence the bookmakers and their traders, I like to keep it local as culture differences can be telling, and you can chat to locals during live matches about their teams, etc. 5. Championship knowledge can help when betting on FA cup and League Cup matches against Premier League teams. Things I need to start my journey and hopefully a few pros who bet on the championship can help here. 1. Where can I see Extended Highlights? (The BBC Football League show seems like a good starting point). 2. And good website for researching stats like "What's the winning % of underdogs over 6.00 or favs under @1.50 over the past 5 years"? 3. Any other decent websites for championship related research material, tactical analysis, previews, etc. 4. Any tips from the people who regularly bet on the championship? Would love to hear about your experiences. Once I have spent a few hours every day, hopefully within a week or two I will start posting some thorough tips on the championship thread and discuss things/info on a particular match with fellow punters.
You clearly didn't see any of the Norwich v Charlton game. Probably the most suspicious game I have ever witnessed.
  2. Re: Ludogorets Razgrad v Real Madrid > Wednesday October 1st

After Ludo were well beaten on Saturday by Levski SF' date=they will host Real Madrid on Wednesday. They weren't 100% focus on the derby game in the local championship and there is no doubt about that.Terziev(CB) and Barth(CB) are out.Ludogorets showed some signs of having problems in defence and those mistakes were punished with ease by Levski but now they will have to deal with Ronaldo and Benzema. It was easy against lpool who are totally out of form and humiliated by Rodgers, but Real Madrid is totally different proposition. The stadium will be full. But the fans are here to watch Real Madrid, not Ludogorets. They have no real fans in fact, because the team was founded 6 years ago + the game is not in their own town Razgrad but in Sofia. They have no team songs too and so called "fans"sing bulgarian national songs... I think the possession of the ball will be about 25%-75%.Real Madrid over 2.5 goals @ 1.66 will be the winning bet here.I doubt Ludo will score ,so BTTS-No @ 1.8 is a good option too.Real Madrid -2 AH @ 1.75 is ok either.Correct Score 0:3 from me.
Just out of interest, who were the fans of Ludo at Anfield then? There looked like quite a big, fanatical fanbase in the away end who were there more for Ludo than to watch the Liverpool 'stars'. Not having a go, just genuinely curious!
  3. Re: Ludogorets Razgrad v Real Madrid > Wednesday October 1st

I seriously don't understand what is your problem!? You always leave the impression that you are totally negative towards your own clubs. Wikipedia says the Club was registered as such in 2001. Surely more than 6 years. Not to mention that Razgrad had a football team in the communist days too...Who cares about football songs and who sings them? Football songs!!!??? Get real or change doctor! It is what the players do' date= this is not an opera house. Fans or no fans, Ludogorets in the past few years gave a good fight to Zagreb, Partizan and Basel, Liverpool, PSV, Lazio, Steaua, with entertaining and well-organized football, and among the clubs mentioned 4 have won Euro trophies in the past. Not bad by any standards. Remember your roots and try to stay positive and proud with the little things achieved in a little country. Big clubs like Real will never be big if there are no small clubs like Ludogorets... Otherwise you are becoming just another always-moaning, everything-knowing, ever-negative Bulgarian, the kind of people which I meet on the streets every day, and the kind of people that make me often feel embarassed. You won't earn any credits here by slagging off your own people (one way or another) and clubs. Just the fact that Ludogorets are in the CL groups is huge for our standards - how many times an Irish Club (for instance) was in CL groups? Or Hungarian? Or Austrian? Ever read a post here from Irish punters being ''political-critical'' to their own clubs? Don't search - you won't find any! With Levski once and now Ludogorets little Bulgaria got in the CL groups twice, right? Not to mention the years before the current CL format, with CSKA Sofia twice in the semis, smashing on the way there (or at least giving a hell of a fight) to Champions like Ajax, Forest, Liverpool, Bayern, Juventus and many more in their best years!? I am a proud Bulgarian, with all the huge achievements we had in the past in all sports. The bad times now don't make me less proud. I am also a proud fan of CSKA Sofia. since 1969, when you probably wasn't born yet, and as such I have no reason domestically to like clubs like Ludogorets, sponsored by shady people. Locally I only watch 2-3 games per season, the one and only real game here is CSKA - Levski. Nothing else has to me any emotional value in the Bulgarian football anymore. Nevertheless, it doesn't take away from the club Ludogorets and the players all the good games they produced in Europe in the past 3 years! I know your kind of people, you always find ways out after a good verbal ''whipping'', yet ''small'' people like you make me pop into this forum less and less often. Don't bother answering, as I won't write back on the subject. Like I said though - change your GP or move out of Bulgaria, you might learn a bit abroad about how good we actually are, in almost everything we do...Bulgarians, that is!
Good thing you aren't English then if you don't want to be of nationality to a country where people are negative to their own country. :eyes :lol
  4. Re: Malmö FF v Olympiacos > Wednesday October 1st

Not a single cent on this Olympiakos. First off all i would like to apologise for my AJAX-BUTTER tip. Ajax proved to be too soft, weak coach, and players without personality. Now. lets go to fresh. Olympiakos sold their best players. Newcomers are totally unkkown to me. I never heard their names before moving to the greek side. I rate this Olympiakos as massively weakened in relation to the last year. They defeated Atletiko yes. but Atletiko was in bad shape, and it was @home. Malmo is playing very well, and that is already proved with their performance against Juve. MALMO 1X double chance @1.80 offered by tipico DEAL:ok ciao
But did you see it in their faces?! :lol
  5. Re: Sky Bet Championhip > September 30th & October 1st

+0.6 units. Didn't expect Norwich to be the team not scoring though.
You can think yourself very, very unlucky with that bet. Norwich had 2 stone wall penalties turned down and 2 penalty shouts that could have gone either way. They also had a good goal disallowed by a referee who has previous history with Norwich. As you say, you wouldn't think Norwich would be the team to let you down on this bet but I couldn't see Norwich keeping a clean sheet.
  6. Re: Capital One Cup > September 23rd & 24th

Howson and Hooper back from injury tonight' date=' big players. And a likely start for Club Brugge signing Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe. It will be a much changed team and there could be as many as 11 changes from the league game on Saturday but there is a lot of strength in depth.[/quote'] 11 changes ?for Norwich against Shrewsbury.
  7. Re: Capital One Cup > September 23rd & 24th

My side, Norwich, played mostly a reserve side against Crawley in the last game, and were lucky to go through. We have a good squad, but against a motivated side in Shrewsbury, who have won, I believe four of their five home matches and drew the other one 0-0, it could be a tricky evening. This was our team in the last round: Rudd, Whittaker, McFadden, Cuellar, Martin; Surman (no longer with us) Eliot Bennett, the Murphy twins on each wing; Jerome (first start I think), Loza. Only Martin and Whittaker were regulars.

  8. Re: Sky Bet Championhip > September 16th & 17th

Cardiff +0 (AH) v Middlesbrough @ 1.975 Bet365 (5 Points) I might be a gluten for punishment but I'm backing Cardiff again. I took them on Saturday and at half time they were 2-0 up and looked to be cruising. They capitulated in the second half however and a storming Norwich come back saw them lose 4-2. I will be backing them again for the same reason as last time though. Over the course of the season I think they will finish top 6 and Boro shouldn't be favourites here for my money. Boro have added some good signings and they should be in the mix come the end of the season but I woulnt say they particularly have a better squad than the Bluebirds. What I will say is that Solskjaer as yet doesn't know his best side and that is hampering them at the moment and probably making their players and fans lose a bit of confidence. They are still a decent side though and I don't expect many sides to turn them over at home like Norwich did (who possibly look like league winners). After a tough away match at Huddersfield on Saturday, this is a long old journey for Boro down to Cardiff just 3 days later. I rate the 2 sides fairly equally and if anything would say Cardiff slightly edge it. On that basis, I can't be having Boro as favourites as the away side here. It's a Cardiff win with the draw cover for me.
I agree with you this time lol. I'm just slightly worried that the fans may turn very quickly on the Cardiff players as they booed and called for Tony Pulis on Saturday against Norwich, so a similar bad atmosphere could generate here.
  9. Re: Sky Bet Championship > September 13th & 14th

I think we (Norwich) are due one over Cardiff. We only got 1 point from the 2 games against Cardiff last season in the Premier League' date=' drawing 0-0 at home and doing everything but putting the ball in the net, and losing 2-1 away despite being 1-0 up and in control, to then give away 2 goals due to poor defensive errors. We should and could have got 6 points from Cardiff last season but only gained 1. I'm usually a very pessimistic fan but I am cautiously optimistic about this game and would perhaps opt for Norwich DNB, as I could see this game ending in a draw.[/quote'] FT 2-4. Bet WON!!! Payback from last season.:ok

  11. Re: Euro 2016 Qualifying > Monday September 8th

:ok Always easier in hindsight of course! Personally, if it's quite a bit of money, I normally lay off at least some of it if I can do so cheaply (I think laying over 2.5 goals when it's 1-1 after 12 minutes would just be very cheap - say 1.1 or less?)
Very true. I guess with it being so early on in the game you could lay it off for very little liability.
