  1. Re: Conference South/North 31st January

Gloucester City v Lowestoft The last time Tamworth lost was back in November to Lowestoft when I tipped them up and they have won every game since. Lowestoft hadn’t won away all season so I tipped up Eastbourne to beat them in the FA Trophy and they duly won. Then last weekend I put up Brackley to beat Lowestoft as they still hadn’t won away in the league. Everything was going nicely at 2-0 up but somehow Lowestoft ended up winning 3-2. I have put that in just to show how I have found all the freak results going this season. Still I can only go on what I see and I think it is worth opposing Lowestoft again this weekend. Gloucester are showing signs of improvement and have made some decent new signings including Sahr Kabba who has scored three goals in his first two games. The home side are 13/10 with Bet 365 and that looks worth taking. Weston Super Mare v Hemel Hempstead I was surprised to see that Weston were joint top of the form table in the Conference South but they do seem to be turning things around and have had some very good results of late. They have won three of their last four games at home and although Hemel are having a good season I can see a home win. Hemel’s away form was really good earlier in the season, but they have failed to win on the road in their last four and with Weston in the form they are in I can see them taking advantage. BetVictor are best price at 17/10
Lowestoft have recently signed Danny Crow who was a youth player at Norwich a few years back and has spent most of his career scoring in the lower leagues. He scored 2 goals against Brackley so some of the improvement may be down to him.
  2. Re: TIM Cup > January 27th - February 4th

Juve -1.5 @ evens most books More a bet against Parma than for Juve. Parma are in a financial crisis. Cassano terminated his own contract today after he hadn't been paid for 6 months. Ironically Juve are potential suitors. Lucarelli (a senior player) has come out and said that Cassano isn't the only disgruntled one in the playing group. If I'm Donadoni, I'm writing this one off and resting everyone and putting all my time and resources into an unlikely survival mission in the league. They only have 9 points so far and lost at home to 1-2 to Cesena at the weekend in a must win match against the weakest team in Serie A! Juve in the last round, even with rotation, destroyed their opponents, so if they find a down on their luck Parma tomorrow, feeling sorry for themselves, Juventus I don't think will show much mercy. They are saying they are keen to get the cup this year after a 20 year drought and I don't think Allegri will weaken down too much. With the gap in the league now 7 points to Roma, they can afford to field stronger players in the cup and Pirlo for example should start tomorrow after having the flu at the weekend.
Do you not think Parma will place more significance on this competition now though as its all but guaranteed they will be relegated?! I can't see how they have any chance to survive in the league.
  3. Re: Sky Bet Championship > January 20th - 24th

norwich 1.6 -1.7 ? doesnt look a little bit underrated ? norwich ranked 7th while brentford 5th ' date='so why so small odds for Canaries? I will be looking for a draw here[/quote'] That does seem very short. Norwich didn't look very good in defence against Cardiff and Brentford are a better team than Cardiff and are higher up in the league so I can see them scoring a few goals for sure.
  4. Re: West Ham v West Bromwich Albion > Thursday January 1st If Alan Irvine was still in charge I would say HW. However it is a completely different game with Pulis now going to be announced as manager. The West Brom players know he will be watching and/or in attendance in the stands perhaps. I remember a similar situation last year when he had been announced as Palace manager and was watching in the stands at Hull as Palace went and beat them 1-0 away, upsetting the form. I can see something similar happening here and as it has been mentioned before it is one of those public bets on West Ham and we know how they sometimes end up.

  5. Re: Midweek Non-League 8-10th December

Problem is Trafford aren’t very good. It has been nine games since they last won in the league and they have only picked up two points in that time. I can see where you are coming from, but even at 3/1 Trafford don’t seem worth backing.
Thats the only thing putting me off, the fact that Trafford seem pretty useless and their league position. I see Blyth have a lot of games in hand aswell so their position will be false to a certain degree.
  6. Re: Midweek Non-League 8-10th December Just having a quick look, I think it may be worthwhile opposing Blyth Spartans tonight at home to Trafford. Blyth Spartans done so well in the FA cup on Friday knocking out League 2 side Hartlepool and that may have taking a lot out of them physically and mentally. This game could come as abit of 'after The Lord Mayors show' for them.

  7. Re: Mid week Non-League 24th-25th November Looks like something may be afoot in the Macclesfield v Torquay game. Looking at their recent form, Macclesfield have been good at home with a home record of 7-4-0 whilst sitting in 4th compared to Torquay in 10th, yet somehow Torquay are favourites for this match at 2.58 (betfair). Also, looking at the other games in the Conference tonight, there is between roughly £1000-£2000 matched in the match odds market on betfair, whereas the Macclesfield v Torquay match has £26,000! With £20,000 of that matched on Torquay.

  8. Re: UEFA Euro 2016 Qualifiers > Friday November 14th

Deffo a toughy mate' date=' one of those games that could go either way but it looks like our central midfield will be Gibson and Hendrick which is very weak and a big worry. Can't see Long starting myself, Keane up top with McGeady and Hoolihan/Walters in behind on the wings. My own personal hunch is Under 2.5 Goals, can see both sides reluctant to give much away, and I am certain Ireland would take a 0-0 now if it was handed to us.[/quote'] No chance of Hoolahan playing. He picked up a bad injury against Fulham a few weeks back and will be out a while.
  9. Re: Sporting CP v FC Schalke 04 > Wednesday November 5th

Sadly' date='i can't share your optimism about goals here-maybe if Sporting score 3,ok sure but i just can't trust Schalke at this point.I watched them against Augsburg on Friday and i was far from impressed.Their attack wasn't what i expected to be and now with all these missing players i surely ain't count on them to score here. You know Sporting better than i do but they should have a really bad defence if you expect them to concede, especially more than one. It's true that Schalke scored 4 in Germany but that was when they were on form and with squad fully fit.I have only 1 bet for today and it is the Draw between Bilbao and Porto but i decidedl have a small punt on here too.Sporting-Schalke 2:0 Correct Score @ 10 with bet365 because i don't expect a replay from the game two weeks ago.
I agree, I just don't think backing a Di Matteo side to be involved in a high scoring game is the best option IMO.
  10. Re: Ligue 1 Orange > October 17th - 19th

Now this is a perfect bullseye whit Valencia 0-3. No pun intended its just crazy. I thought to myself before the Valencia game started, if you hit 2 of your treble backwards could it be the third also ? To bad i didn't follow that thought.
Would have got decent odds on the Guingamp, Koln, Deportivo treble!
  11. Re: UEFA Euro 2016 Qualifiers > Monday October 13th

I disagree with this. Italy very rarely score lots of goals and even if they are winning a game easily, they tend to "ease off" slightly, almost out of respect for the opposition. I don't have them to hand, but I have read articles before by Italian players/coaches backing this up. To add to this, with Malta being a neighbouring country, I could see this as another reason they perhaps "ease off" slightly, as I think relations between the two countries are good. I stand corrected if not though. Also, in the last match between these two teams in 2013, Italy raced into a 2-0 lead at HT. This was how the game finished, again backing up the argument that the Italians take their foot off the pedal. An interesting game but I just don't see lots of goals in this personally, perhaps 2-3. ps in response to superb in attack, Italy are set to change their misfiring forward line of Immobile and Zaza with Pelle and Giovinco as the former pairing have failed to impress.
    :ok
  12. Re: UEFA Euro 2016 Qualifiers > Monday October 13th

Malta vs Italy – Total Over 3.5 @ 2.26 Marathonbet This is probably the game where we will see the most goals of the day. Italy are superb in attack, while Malta are terrible in defence. Malta is coming from the home defeat 0-3 to Norway, a game where they played really bad and got what they deserved. The small nation has good players on the third end of the field, but is always paying the defensive problems. I expect this to happen also tonight. Italy didn’t have motive and passion against a minor team like Azerbaijan, they played bad, people didn’t like what they saw. Coach Conte will make changes tonight in order to improve the performance of his team by giving playing time to some members that usually stay on the bench. Italy must win this game, otherwise it would be a catastrophe. I expect a lot of goals in this match.
