I recently posted this in another thread - will copy below - I keep a note of all my bets in excel file (libre Calc) and since the flat season ended I noticed that my betting was having poorer results - so I opened a new sheet and copied all of my bets from the previous 2 months into it. I then removed all of the bets and left only the bets 4/1 and under - this opened my eyes as it showed these bets to be performing very poorly. I did the same copied the bets into another sheet and removed all of the bets 4/1 and under - this was quite an eye opener I can tell you. Since then I only bet at odds above 4/1ew and I am making constant and better profits now. So much that I very rarely look at form nowadays but tend to follow the money at odds over 4/1 and over time this is performing better - much better. Anything under 4/1 is taboo for me now - so you miss a few winners at these odds but you also miss all of the duff ones as well.

Try ATR - you get just as much info from them I suppose

Okay getting fed up with constant losses on betfair so I'm not going to continue with this on the thread anymore - No profit to be made with 2 or more selections in a race as guaranteed loser. Also noticed a sharp downturn in BSP prices so don't think it worthwhile going forward. Although we made some modest gains today due to 7/2 winner Ornately - I am unable to get excited with all these horses that don't seem to be ridden out and avoid the places - stands out a mile over the course of this thread. I also see that there must have been some burnt fingers along the way and some panicking punters on the exchange when Memardee started the day at 132.30 and ended with SP 36.00 - finished stone last at 25/1 ???

Yep I suppose what you are saying may be correct - if you think the horses are actually trying to win. However after watching these beasts perform over a period of time I am convinced that the majority are just out for a run and seriously not trying to win or place. Some of the shorter priced ones may have no other option but to win or place being just too good for the opposition - and some of the longer priced ones that place may just have bumped into a race with a few fallers or the fancied horses in that race just didn't want to win or may have fell or picked up an injury or whatever. I'm still not convinced that betfair is right for this system as the horses have to win outright whereas betting BOG/ew you get the benefit of places. One example today that I have selected has just drifted from around 16/1 to 100/1 - this would be expected to place at best and would not be expected to win on betfair. Anyhow I will so how this performs over the next week or two then will decide.

Todays results - not looking good for the betfair part of this venture - Total betfair lost £166.41-- I'm afraid the referee might be reaching for the red card for that part ? - can't say that I have much enthusiasm as far as betfair is concerned for this. I started this as ew-BOG and it was showing better returns - went downhill whilst using betfair. - will give some more thought as to the fate of betfair going forwards.
