  1. Re: I have never won with 6 high before!

Well at least you know what he was holding. Has to be 5 3 and he was drawing for his open-ended straight.
when I got the pot I typed ??? into the chat box as I assumed I would lose and at the time I couldn't figure any hand I could beat! so I had to get the HH and make sure he didn't just fold in error :) glad to see you you noticed the obvious brilliance of my play now - i knew he had 35off and was chasing........:lol:lol:lol:lol righty-o delusions of granduer over - just wished I have shoved the river and him call and me still win!:ok:ok:ok Damo this is nearly as good as hitting my royal flush:ok
  2. Okay I played this poorly - I tried to buy the flop with my flush and straight draw and then tried to convince the viilian I had trips with the 2nd two on the turn and get him to fold his (probable) flush draw, so lesson learnt I checked the river and still won!! HAHAHAHAHAHA Better lucky than good I guess....... :ok Damo ***** Hand 866856045 ***** 0.05/0.10 Texas Hold'em (No Limit ) - 14 December 2007 19:33:17 TH Mini 62 (Real /Cash Game ) Seat 1: cnm5 (20.79) Seat 2: robilaruk (17.51) Seat 4: Xardas12 (6.87) Seat 5: maddan (5.09) cnm5 post SB 0.05 robilaruk post BB 0.10 ** Deal ** robilaruk [6c, 3c] *** Bet Round 1 *** Xardas12 Call 0.10 maddan Fold cnm5 Call 0.10 robilaruk Check *** Flop(Board): *** : [2c, 4d, Kc] *** Bet Round 2 *** cnm5 Check robilaruk Bet 0.20 Xardas12 Call 0.20 cnm5 Fold *** Turn(Board): *** : [2c, 4d, Kc, 2d] *** Bet Round 3 *** robilaruk Bet 0.60 Xardas12 Call 0.60 *** River(Board): *** : [2c, 4d, Kc, 2d, 8d] *** Bet Round 4 *** robilaruk Check Xardas12 Check *** Showdown *** : Rake: 0.09 Total Pot: 1.81 cnm5 Fold Win: 0.00 robilaruk [6c, 3c] Pair of deuces Win: 1.81 Xardas12 Fold Win: 0.00 maddan Fold Win: 0.00 EDIT: SORRY should be in chat - can a nice Mod move please? 3. okay am posting cash game hands as I am struggling from the shift from STT's which I have virtually exclusively played for the last 4 years This is my thought process I am on the SB with Ace rag suited - if I call for 1/2 a blind and hit a flush/draw I am going to win something/be able to bet someone off the pot - If I miss I can check fold when the Ace hit, I was waiting for the usual min bet from late position (as happened most hands it seems at this level) and was going to check raise the flop - however no one did bet! so I bet out the turn with 2 pair and get raised - am I folding, calling or shoving? 4. Re: Table selection on Boss

Pokertracker is new on Boss - so I think the main reason I'm doing it on boss is a belief that most of my opponents probably aren't using it, so I have an advantage over them :unsure On the other, more established sites, I believe most of my opponents are probably using it.... :unsure
So its up and running properly now? I seem to recall it was in beta and I was waiting until they 'fixed it'. I need to go and d/l the freebie to have a go:ok Has someone wrote a simple user guide about PT? just so that we can al get the best out of it. Cheers Damo
  5. Okay I make a button move and get reraised - now I would normally fold here however, eato have been lose with his PF raises and re-raises and I know he is aggressive on the flop no matter what, so if I hit I am likely to get paid, and the reraise is small, it seems to be Aces or Kings to me, so my post flop play is dead easy. So whats my play on the flop? Damo ps BTW the average pot size on the stats was over $15 - this was a massively wild table! ***** Hand 863213403 ***** 0.12/0.25 Texas Hold'em (No Limit ) - 11 December 2007 23:19:55 TH Mini 42 (Real /Cash Game ) Seat 1: mordakay (25.00) Seat 2: kwik09 (168.89) Seat 3: eato (16.17) Seat 4: DSCH (27.05) Seat 5: robilaruk (13.15) eato post SB 0.12 mordakay post BB 0.25 DSCH post BB 0.25 ** Deal ** robilaruk [Qc, 9s] *** Bet Round 1 *** robilaruk Raise to 1.25 mordakay Fold kwik09 Fold eato Raise to 2.25 DSCH Fold robilaruk Call 2.25 *** Flop(Board): *** : [7c, Qd, 9d] *** Bet Round 2 *** eato Bet 0.25 robilaruk Raise to 3.50 eato All-in 13.92

  8. Re: GaF's Nothing to Something thread (Current Bank €1007.85)

Why do I play at levels I cannot beat? 1) To improve my game 2) To test myself (I feel my game is constantly evolving and improving, one day I will beat them!!) :dude)
I understand the need to improve however am wondering how many buy-in people should be prepared to lose to 'improve' versus the amount of cash they could have won by not losing, and winning at the lower levels? In other words, how much of your BR are you prepared to risk to take a shot at the higher levels? Damo
  9. Re: GaF's Nothing to Something thread (Current Bank €1007.85) I know these are pointless sample sizes however, we can only work with what we have got! GaF, you really suck at the $33 STT's:sad yet play well at the $11 & $22's:ok. I know from my own experiences that I really struggled to step up to the $33, $55 and $109's and could never make a consistent profit there at those levels (in fact I have never made a profit at the $55's), yet my BR allowed me the choice to play the higher levels and I took that choice even though it was not successful. I found that I then couldn't get motivated to play the $11 & $22's 'properly' despite me making a profit on those tables previously. Can I ask whether you find the same? I know that in previous threads you have said you are 'inconsitent' at the $55's, am wondering if you play the $33's because you can (BR management) or because the grind of the $11 & $22's get you down? Damo

  10. Re: Classy Plays - Great Bluffs JJ I like the play - you make the cont bet with your 'obvious' striaght draw, check the turn when you hit your straight hoping to CR a 'bluff' and then lead with the same 'flop bet amount' on the river as he 'obvously' read you for the straight and decided to not bluff the turn. Nice one :ok Dmao

  11. Re: Classy Plays - Great Bluffs

That's the bluff that impresses me.
y'see its all a matter of interpretation - in JJ's mind a 'fairly tight image' means him folding two hands in a row, and one of them being his BB, when he ticked the 'fold' checkbox in error....... ;) Damo
  12. Re: AA on Raggy Flop vs 2 Others

With a very nice flop' date=' do I just call or do I try and get one or both of them out?[/quote'] better to win a small pot than lose a big one (by playing passively) so I would be rasing here - make it pot and see what happens - the tricky thing would be if you raise to 2.6K and villian shoves, do you call for another 4K knowing you may be behind to a set? :sad Damo
  13. Re: Hornet's Strategy Questions. Part 3

You're ahead of anything other than AK and I feel you need to price him out of any draw he might have. I'd be shoving this hand and let him make a decision.
I don't think you can price him out of the hand - there is 2600 or so in the middle after Hornet shoves and its only 500 more to call or so both players are (effectively) AI and seeing the river card Damo
  14. Re: Pop Quiz (part XXXV) - Call or Fold

Never found out what happened here Damo ?? Just to see if Nikki or I were right.. ;););)
As GAF says, best to try to make the correct decision long term than just what happened in this specific hand :ok however seeing as you asked nicely - I folded - this is very very close IMO, but not quite close enough - if shortie has shoved the previous round or two I would have caled here, but seeing as he had been waiting I have to put him on at least one over card and I was happy to wait and fold this one and shove/call on another hand. I did take my time though - all 15 secs before folding, as I was unsure - just wondered what others thought :ok Damo
