  1. Re: April 30-May 6 Monfils to beat Kohlschreiber @ 4/5 with Paddy Power or 17/20 if you have Betfair (Unlike me) This is the time to fade Philip you'd feel, the past week must must have taken a bit out of him, he's surely to be feeling both physically and mentally drained. Gael will be in preparation for the French here and knows he'll need match time to generate his game into check, for me that's motivation enough. A fit and raring Gael Monfils will always quite effortlessly dispose with Kohlschreiber on this surface .. yes I'm going to use that word again, "hustler" because it fits Monfil's description perfectly. He is an athlete that jus so happens to play tennis and an athlete on clay with decent skills to boot is tough to beat. All in all, despite the lack of match practice for Gael, Kohlschreiber will be somewhat equally as handicapped with the mental and physical exhaustion he'll probably be feeling once he lands in Madrid tomorrow. 8/10 in the confidence stakes

M, Kirilenko vs J, Zheng over 20.5 games in the Madrid Masters @ 19/20 with Panbet Both of these players are pretty even on this surface IMO. Kirelenko is talented and can grace the court with quality tennis on her day. Zheng is a well drilled oriental player on clay, she's consistent and more often than not keeps a good length. Both players, historically, are renownd for making life difficult for not only their opponent, but also themselves, this line is very generous based on that front and I'm willing to snap it up. 7/10 in the confidence stakes
6-2, 7-5 to Kirenko and missing the line by a single game. Pathetic WTA :(
  3. Re: April 30-May 6 Berloqc to beat Granollers @ Evens with Bet365 These odds are dictated by the fact Granollers is going to be playing @ home, well he was playing @ home in Barcelona and what happened there? Cut apart from Fernando bloody Gil! Granollers has shown any inspiration he gets from playing @ home is not enough to turn around this bad form and lack of confidence he's in. Berloqc, despite only having jus over-come a left calf injury, should still be in good enough shape to dispose of Marcel here. 7/10 in the confidence stakes

  4. Re: April 30-May 6 In-play. R, Bautista Agut to beat Andreev @ 6/5 with Paddy Power. Bautista has been playing some impressive tennis this season and I can't really seperate these two's quality on clay ATM... so I'm going with the home-boy Spaniard. 7/10 in the confidence stakes

  5. Re: April 30-May 6 First Round ATP @ the Madrid Masters Feliciano Lopez to beat Jurgen no heart or desire if I can't have it all my own way Melzer @ 8/13 with Bet Victor X Andujar to beat the beautiful pony tailed Dolgopolov @ 7/5 with Bet Victor 2.88/1 as a double with Bet Victor *Rubs hands* Feliciano is a class above Jurgen when game for action and its at this time in the season, in the lead up to the clay and grass events where Feliciano really moves into that "game for action" mode and state of mind. We saw the passionate display he put in @ Barcelona and I'm anticipating another here in Madrid. He's been serving top notch and the key to knowing when Feliciano is playing well is when his one-two punch of serve volley is operating well. Despite losing to Kohlschreiber in his last match, he showed a lot of good signs, so clutch under pressure, saving bps, sps and mps .. all with massive serving and equisite artistry of touch, under pressure. Kohlschreiber for me, wanted the victory that little bit more and is very capable of a performance like that and he produced it, inspired by his own support. Here, Feliciano's going to be on his own turf and you jus see can't the head case Melzer getting much of a read on his serve, for whatever break points he'll conjur, he'll true to his ways spurn them some how and you can always count on him to throw a sloppy service game in here and there. Melzer often likes to play this "cat and mouse" tennis on clay and in this department, up against a guy with Feliciano's amazing net skills and equisite touch, he's going to come out second best I am afraid. We also all know about Melzer's headcase tendencies, he often not only has the other guy at the opposite side of the net to beat, but also himself! Nah, ugh, too much for the bloke. On to Andujar, when this bloke is motivated and focused, he is a force to be bloody reckoned with on clay, hell he's even proved he's no slouch on hard this season with that run @ Indian Wells. The key here for me is Andujar's ability, WHEN ON SONG, to neutralize attacking shots by getting balls back with depth, he rarely allows his opponents to muscle their way into a commanding position in a rally. (That's key against a player like Dolgopolov) We all know Dolgo goes through phases in matches, phases where his missiles land and phases where they jus .. hit civilians I guess you could say? That's Dologo, all or nothing .. if he can't be brilliant, he's not half way to being brilliant. All in all, Andujar's @ home and that will provide him with motivation. You feel, if motivated, he's going to be the one out of the two that sterns the test of time better. 8/10 in the confidence stakes

  6. Del Potro vs Wawrinka - Over 20.5 games in the ATP Estoril Open @ 3/4 with Unibet Ridiculous line, completely disrespecting a talented player who has brought his A game to the fore since the start of the clay season. Del Potro essentially wins matches even when he isn't playing quite to the top of his game with his flat "get-out-of-jail" serve. Stan's been in the better form on this surface and you'd jus have to feel he'll need an excellent serving display to keep tabs with Stan atm. Stan is actually a pretty good mover on this surface, arguably better than Del Potro, so you would have to fancy him in the longer rallies, he's been ripping the backhand down-the-line winners for the past two tournaments with absolute aplomb and Del Potro won't have it easy manifesting a break of serve. 3 sets with it going either way or Del Potro in two with a tie break atleast in one of those two. 8/10 in the confidence stakes
Wayyy toooooo sic! Exactly how I called it! Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using PL Forum
  7. Re: April 30-May 6

I don't say this does not come through, but Safarova's status is injured - left elbow. At least MatchStat says so. I was not able to find any further info in the meantime. Now because she is lefty, this is important :-)
:| So she'll either not play or retire during the match, HOPEFULLY!
  8. Re: April 30-May 6 Zvonerava to beat Cetkovskva in the Madrid Masters @ 8/11 with Blue Square Another one of those, you have got to be shitting me? ones.... Okay Vera has been in diabolical form, but only by HER STANDARD. She hasn't been THAT bad and besides the bad run isn't going to last forever? Right? Form is temporary, class is permanent. Cetkovska has played quite a bit of tennis recently and as we all know is very streak. Vera is well rested and well motivated, as she knows this is a big event and something she needs to get her teeth into so as for preparation for the French, you would expect her to win. Based on the odds, gotta this, brilliant IMO. 6/10 in the confidence stakes

  9. Re: April 30-May 6 Azarenka to beat Kuznetzova 2-0 and Serena Williams to beat Vesina 2-0 both in the Madrid Masters @ 2/7 and 4/11 respectively, 1.75 odds as a double, both with Paddy Power Kuznetzova is not the same player that won the French those few years back, Azarenka will be even more ruthless after losing to a player she has much distaste for. She has been outspoken about how she knows every player on tour now is going to give everything they can to beat her now she is the number 1 player in the World. Serena Williams is not dropping a set to Vesina ... especially after the tiresome week Vesina has jus had. 9/10 in the confidence stakes

  11. Re: April 30-May 6 Safarova to beat Kanepi in the Madrid Masters @ Evens with Panbet Getting this one in early before the punters murder the price and the market swings. Safarova is the better clay courter and whilst Kanepi has had a good season so far she won't be able to cope with the Safarova game on clay. Both players love the way the ball sits up on this surface and can lay the smackdown from those high bounces, but Safarova has the edge, as not only can she lay smackdown to any shallow shots but she can also stay that relatively somewhat more consistent than Kanepi. Safarova is also well rested for this event with her last match having over a week back now, Kanepi on the other hand has had to tussle through 3 set matches and is still competing in the Estoril Open. Gotta favour Safa here. 8/10 in the confidence stakes

Feliciano Lopez to beat Philip Kohlschreiber in the BMW Open @ 4/6 with Ladbrokes or 7/10 if you have Betfair (Unlike me) Okay, so I remember watching their last encounter on clay where Feliciano won and I remember how it became apparent to me, Feliciano has this type of game that frustrates Kohlschreiber. Philips is a rhythmic player, he loves a flow so he can get his guns off both side working. Feliciano's game is very choppy and even more so on clay. The slicing and dicing, followed by the change up to inside out forehands is something that frustrates Kohlschreiber, who much prefers the generic, modern day ball basher. Don't believe me? Check out his record against the hugely unconventional, full of variety, Radek Stepanek. Feliciano has been serving relatively well in recent weeks, he impressed me hugely against Ferrer and wasn't completely shat on in Monte Carlo where he ran into an inspired and well groomed for the event Wawrinka. Its been a while since Feliciano claimed an ATP title and based on what I've seen so far this tournament, he really does looks like a man on a mission! 7/10 in the confidence stakes
Ugh, should have taken Kohlschreiber being at home in Germany more into consideration on this one. Sorry to all those whom followed.

[/TABLE] Makes for quite an astonishing reading when you consider the class Kohlschreiber has and is capable of bringing to a tennis court.
  14. Re: April 30-May 6 Del Potro vs Wawrinka - Over 20.5 games in the ATP Estoril Open @ 3/4 with Unibet Ridiculous line, completely disrespecting a talented player who has brought his A game to the fore since the start of the clay season.

Baggy does not look good, going for one match in Beograd Paire to bt Nieminen @2.04 Pinnacle (5/10) Jarkko just finished his two-sets long part two of the match against Veic. I looked at this match, and it semed to me that Jarkko is losing gas and starting to make more unforceds as the match proceeded. Veic was just too dumb to take advantage. Benoit comes fresh to this match, and posesses huge serve which should trouble Jarkko. This bet is based on the assumption that to play a match about 2-3 hours after difficult two sets against Veic should be too much for Jarkko.
    You are sic!

Stan Wawrinka to beat Robin Haase 2-0 @ Evens with William Hill This should be plain Stan this one, he's done a lot of hard training in the build up to the clay-court season, he skipped a masters series on hard jus so he could have the right preparation. In Monte Carlo he was phenomenal with scintilating performances to beat Feliciano Lopez and Almagro ... he even causes the king of clay Rafa a trouble or two. Robin Haase is not known for being much good on this surface and I cannot understand the respect the bookmakers are paying towards him here. He struggled in the last round to overcome a qualifier ranked 188 ... he was a set and a break down before coming back and scraping through. Robin possesses no real weapons other than his serve and I believe Stan should have this done in quick time with a break in each set doing the business. 8/10 in the confidence stakes
    Yup, yup, yup! :cigar

I think that's a good decision' date=' I don't get though why are people attacking me for getting him banned. I think I was right at going on him, as you saw my counter arguments turned out to be all legit. My intention was not at all to get him banned, I don't have nothing against him. Just saw what he wrote as incorrect and I guess I was just trying to give a hint that he's not the only guy in the world that knows about tennis. His opinion is not the only one.[/quote'] In as jus like the way your "counter arguments" proved to be right when opposing my Granollers/M, Lopez to bt F, Mayer/J, Melzer and Lorenzi to bt J, Blake picks .. I have no problem with someone "expressing their opinion" or "debating against" a selection I have made (As you can see me and Homongulus do it all the time) but the way in which you structure your disagreement is what cripples me. "I don't agree with this shit"

Anyway, I hope we can put this to one side and move on because its not healthy for the atmosphere in here to have any two people bickering, sticking out chests... :ok

  18. Re: April 30-May 6

Perhaps it's not the 10/10 but more your attitude and arrogance that makes people want to revel in your losses. I don't think anyone likes seeing someone use massive dancing bananas to welcome a winning bet. Nor do they enjoy your "I'm the best tipster ever" mantra that you preached as recently as yesterday. You lay it on thick when you win and that has irked people. You have set yourself up for a fall. You said it was an "utter gift" to back Hanescu not once, but twice, in the same sentence. You made it sound like it was the best bet the world has ever seen. It clearly wasn't. From a personal point of view, you are knowledgeable about tennis but your betting technique needs refined. And your knowledge is superficial sometimes. I've lost count of the number of players who hustle on clay ... I enjoy having your tips on here but you court controversy more than Radek Stepanek ever has. You hit your fair share of winners and I applaude that but there is room for improvement (IMO). If you want to depart, fine. I suspect some will miss you - I've seen a steady number of followers for you - but many won't. It says something about your psyche that after one bad bet, you're off. I don't think you can handle it. A little like Guillermo Garcia-Lopez, you're a bottle merchant.
That's jus my enthusiasm for betting, I genuinely believed it was Hanescu's to lose and the bookies had made a mistake here, possibly a bit naive, but there you go. There were echo's that Rosol served well in his last match, but considering Kubot's lack of defensive qualities 96% first serves won proved inconclusive to me. In regard to my knowledge, thanks, I've played a lot competitively over the years and I understand the psychological aspects of what a player has to encounter. Sometimes it can be superficial? Ah, well, the "hustler" term, to me, a hustler in tennis is some who tires out their opponent and then pounces on their opportunity ... a Muhammad Ali for instance ... floats like a butterfly, stings like a bee? In my defense, when I have used this term in my write-up my tip has often won and the player won due to their "hustling" qualities. Course there is room for improvement, but I don't see how that is relevant to sarci comments from other posters? I have my technique in posting tips, surely its my prerogative to post those tips in whichever fashion I choose? Its no ones right to take stabs at me for having my own fashion in posting write-ups, I am a little OTT with my write-ups, but I always provide a substance to my pick. Atko, lol, I'm not bottling it after one bad bet, I jus find there to be a double standard going on here Atko, if I defend myself against posters, I'm literally banned for it.... but when someone has a dig @ me its unseen to. I feel they are getting away with first degree murder, whilst I am there getting done for shop-lifting a bag of pic-n-mix sweets. Anyway, I've decided I'm only going to take a time-out from tipping and I'll make a return at the French Open. I'll check back here for the obvious quality write-ups from yourself, Slider, Homungulus and IAmGooner .. but that's it, until the French anyway.

Eh, I won't play I don't understand you :-) This indeed referred to your Hanescu bet. No pun intended, I really appreciate most of your inputs, though you just demonstrated that the confidence mark must be taken with grain of salt. But you ran into this yourself, bro :-) You'll have to swallow the inevitable. I wish you your ego will heal quickly.
This perception I have an ego is completely unfounded, its confidence, but don't worry you won't have to encounter my ego anymore. I'm done with this place.
