  1. Re: June 18 - June 24

Makarova to beat Kvitova Eastbourne @5 Bwin(2/10) Like Lorenzi vs Dodig yesterday,I cannot avoid having a small stake on Makarova who is well overpriced. Makorova H2H vs Kvitova reads 1-0 to Kvitova in a narrow 7-6 7-6 win in this exact same tournament a year ago.Makorova won this event 2 years ago in 2010 & will go out today guns blazing to get revenge over last years defeat.Aswell as the fact she seems to produce her best tennis vs the top ranked players.Kvitova has just had a good run to the Semi-Finals at the French Open & was beaten by Sharapova.PK will have one eye on Wimbledon next week & Makorova the sort of player to make her pay for that.Safer option is overs at 18.5 or Makorova at +5.5 but gonna be on the Makarova win at small stakes.
    Great pick Pensioner, well done
  2. Re: England > FA Cup 3rd round > Fri 6/1- Mon 9/1 Liverpool by 2 goals @ 4.00 (Sportsbet.com.au) Much motivation to win this match as a win will mean Luis Suarez will only miss league matches v Stoke, Bolton and Wolves and will return for the Tottenham match. Dalglish will want to avoid the replay due to a busy schedule in January with Carling Cup commitments. Have seen an improved focus during the 'Carling Cup' run which has seen Liverpool progress into the semi finals with away wins in all rounds (Exeter, Brighton, Stoke, Chelsea). Sides put out for those matches have not been weakened with majority of youngsters and have been almost first choice. I expect Sebastian Coates, Jamie Carragher and Martin Kelly to start but I don't expect too many 'youngsters' like a team Arsenal would have put out in previous years. Also expect a appearance later on from Steven Gerrard. Going by his bench appearance against City, Bellamy and Downing/Rodriguez on the wings. Bellamy back on the bench for the City match is my opinion. Might have not put away as many as the second half of last season but there has been some outstanding goalkeeping against us (Vorm, Ruddy, Bunn springs to mind), as well as hitting the post 18 times in 20 matches. Have been superb defensively though, only conceding 2 or more in only 2 matches (at Tottenham and City)

  3. Re: UEFA Champions League > Wednesday 7th December

Gaining top spot in the group will be tough, as Utd will need to beat Basel away from home at a bigger margin then Benfica v Otelul (should benfica win at home). I think Utd will give it a go anyway, but wont be too stressed if they dont seal top spot.
Goal difference doesn't come into this equation Benfica won the head to head against United on away goals (1-1 in Lisbon, 2-2 in Manchester) But do agree United "won't" lose and will give it their all given the next match is a home match v Wolves if I am correct
  4. Re: WC 2014 Qualifier (Asia) Blackcrow summed it up - too predictable They had plenty of the ball but chose to aimlessly put in balls into the middle from deep in hope that Cahill or Kennedy will utilise their aerial ability to score goals The name "Neil Kilkenny" reminded me why I shouldn't bet on Australia, he's a League 1 standard player Was going to take the 1.80 for Australia to win at halftime but had money on Australia -2.5 goals :puke Don't think there is much that I can say is a safe bet in the other games. Bahrain and Qatar draw might be a chance :unsure

  5. Re: Tennis - The US Open 2011

I'll also make two early selections in R1. No handicaps as yet ... - Ivan Dodig v Nikolay Davydenko @ 2.25 with Pinnacle 4/10 Reverse the odds and I think you get a fairer reflection of what could happen. I think Davydenko is living on name only. He's lost the bite in his strokes but more importantly, his serve is a mess. He's easy pickings for even the most average returners on a hard court. Some of his losses this year have been grim, epitomised by losing to Stakhovsky only a few days ago. Dodig is a nasty R1 opponent. He's had a breakthrough year, beat Nadal on this surface and has the power to hit through the frail-looking Russian. Moreover, he has a bigger serve, and is more likely to hold with ease. The Davydenko of old would perhaps merit such favouritism, but this isn't that man. Dodig is playing well, and is more than capable of winning. I'd make him favourite so keen to strike early with the price is hot.
Couldn't agree more, one that caught my eye instantly Davydenko was walloped by Fish by memory in the last fortnight. No disgrace losing to Fish, far from it, but to lose 6-2 6-0 in what I think that was his last match before this Grand Slam was pretty pathetic
  6. Re: NRL: Round 25 Tigers -15.5 @ 1.53 is tempting me Tigers win by 13+ will see them move from the second last finals spot into the 4th spot which makes a massive difference Anyone think they can cover the 21.5 line?:unsure

  7. Re: UEFA Europa League > Thurs 18 August Can anyone shed light on Metalist at home to Sochaux From the results I've seen so far Sochaux's first two Ligue 1 games have finished in an opening day draw at Marseille but then went home and lost to Caen. 2 games played 3 scored 4 conceded Metalist 3 wins and 3 draws. 2 home wins and no other results at home. Score an average of 2.5 goals / game so far in their 6 matches and concede 1.5 goals / game Too risky? :unsure 2.05 for a home win :\

  8. Re: England: Premier League Aug 13-15 Man City 1st half score 2-0 @ 5/1 Bwin Small stakes on this It'll take Swansea a game or two to adjust to how to play in the Premiership, will be difficult to adjust on a very difficult away trip up frirst. Can see City wanting to put in a great performance up first and get rid of any lingering headlines from the Community Shield

  9. Re: 2011 U20 World Cup I agree with ddlords, this is the one match I had an eye out once I saw the 1st ko round matches Nigeria u20s 2.00 v England u20s Top scorers Nigeria v England who haven't even scored (or conceded mind you) This isn't the best England crop of youngsters with England having had several other youth tournaments this summer and I suspect this is where the luck will run out. Nigeria will play with an energy that will eventually break down England. Problem for England is this isn't the group stage, Nigeria won't settle for a draw as there will not be a 'next game' like in the group stage (not as if Nigeria settled for a draw in the group stage anyways) I suspect a Nigeria opening goal will kill this off, even if England score an early goal I'd still back the Nigerians not to lose such is their confidence at the moment. I'd say the only risk is the draw
