1. Re: Monday Maulings Thx Heb, really appreciated mate :ok Yeah I seemed to be progressing well and never at threat of busting. Managed to creatively win a few without showdown and won all but 2 or 3 at showdown. Overall happy with my play, but a review in the morning might show some areas I can improve further on. If anyone railing saw or has view on anything please feel free to share or pm me privately. All thoughts & views welcomed :ok

2. Re: Monday Maulings

Sorry Bart that was my fault. I fecking jinxed you :cry You played those hands perfectly well. No getting away from the AQ imo and if you had shoved the 10 10 you were getting called. AK down to A9s was in his range and you were deffo behind post flop. As for the last hand perfect hand to shove with your stack and no fold equity unfortunately against K7o Well played mate. Like you said, there'll be other times :ok
Absolutely not, far from a jinx, knowing you were there was a big help. 3 hours into an intense tourney and I'm always going to get mentally drained. You gave me a lift :ok Will pull out and review the hand history tomorrow when mentally more alert, but really appreciate your input. Difficult in the midst of battle and with a 1 second time bank (whats that all about lol) to decipher everything but I thought it was ok at the time. That's where having a friend on the rail helps tremendously, independant and calm considered view, helps no end in identifying and fixing any potential leaks.
3. Re: Community Giveaway - Bart(UK) DTD £250 Seat Sorry guys, we were 5th from 25 with 2x £3k seats given out. Just 1 entry short of the guarantee so no cash for 3rd. Full updates in Mondays daily thread. As you can probably see I gave it a damn good go, chipping up nicely throughout the tourney and at no time really being under threat. 2 key hands: A big call (well I overshoved to isolate) with AQ against shorty with AJ which held. This set me up with a fighting chance towards the end. A frustrating AQ into AK on Axx board which lost leaving me ok but getting short. All good fun and I'll try again. Who knows I might give out free stakes again, been fun. Thanks for all your support and enthusiasm, much appreciated :ok

5. Re: Monday Maulings Sorry guys, gave it a damn good go. As always 1 hand at the critical stage scuppers the whole tourney. Difficult to get away from the AQ hand i think though. After that blinds and antes creeping up steeply, had time but not much. Raised TT, big blind 3bet with just over minraise. There are good arguments here for the shove, the call and the fold. In my position with my stack I like the call (in position). If the flop is raggity I shove. Flop comes down AJx, big blind shoves as expected on that texture and I'm forced to fold because behind to majority of his 3bet range there but probably saved my tourney by call/folding. Folding is probably the right option there, but given stack/blinds, I'm happy taking the shot. Eventually open shoved remaining 5.3bb QJ from small blind, big calls with K7, no help, goodnight Vienna. Really appreciate everyone that railed though. Really helps knowing friends are routing you on :ok I'll be back for another attempt ;)

6. Re: Monday Maulings Thx Fred, appreciated mate. 147k>156>134>126>178k Curr 4/7, 2 seats Made a big call EP against shortly AQ vs AJ. Not an easy spot to make. Did, held, happy days. But this isn't a Bart only thread, how is everyone else doing tonight?

7. Re: Monday Maulings Thx rep, long way still to go (hopefully) and going to need luck in the flips at the end as always, but trying :ok Appreciated mate, have a good night.

8. Re: Monday Maulings 2nd break and we're now entering proper freezeout. Have stepped up a gear, but nothing too out of line, pot control always. Curr 4/14 from 25, 2 seats, just short of guarantee so no cash for 3rd. 67k>70k>81k>87k>103k>118k>115k (avg 89k). Going back to 3k/1.5k(400) blinds

9. Re: Monday Maulings Out of the smaller tourney 9/13 (1+1) Was getting nothing, picked a good spot to overshove with outs, didn't work. Still pretty much treading water in the biggie. 55k>61k>63k>55k>67k waiting for decent opportunity but happy to keep chipping away until it comes.

10. Re: Monday Maulings 1st Break (hour in but still an hour of late reg to go) Curr 7/23 in the biggie, 7/8 from 11 in the other. Playing well, making good reads, except where I hit trips but couldn't put UTG preflop raiser on 76o for the straight. Smelled a rat and had the sense to just call not reraise, so got away relatively cheap. Stack gone from 50k > 55k > 35k > 44k >63k > 55k

11. Re: Monday mayhem - where are you playing? Update: Warm up was as cold as ice.

Final stage attempts at WPT(Nat) & WPT(UK) seats tonight to concentrate on. Don't expect to pick either up at first attempt but shot to nothing, in both for 1p and further attempts already well underway. 7pm Dtd 250 (£5.50 token) SF® = 17/30 (4+1) 9pm Dtd 500 (£55 token) Final = tbc 9pm Dtd 3000 (£250 token) Final =tbc The Community Giveaway game Thought for the day: Don't be afraid to fail, it shows you were prepared to succeed. 12. Re: Monday Maulings

It's happening far too much lately. Same thing in the Boyles league last week. It's not as if I play 20 tournaments a night.
Sometimes thats the reason why the badbeats are so memorable. They still happen but are easier to cope with when multi-tabling.
13. Re: Monday Maulings Rediculously card dead in my "warm up" game and having to get very creative to stay in touch. From experience this could go 1 of 2 ways. It's either not my night or I'll get all the cards later on and be an absolute rack. Going to proceed as planned and just hope it's the latter. Still in the 250SF but going to have to rely on luck sooner or later.

14. Re: Monday Maulings Yeah what a great result that was and couldn't happen to a nicer or more hard working guy. He's given a lot to the poker scene in UK and so great to see him finally get recognition. Made up for him.
