  1. Re: Cricket: India vs England ODI Series & T20 International

    WIN - 5pts India -3.5wickets/25.5runs @ EVS [sportingbet] WIN - 4pts Gautam Gambhir Match Runs: Over 28.5 @ 5/6 [Ladbrokes] WIN - 3pts Player Performance: R Ashwin 36&Over @ 5/6[bet365]
Yeah thanks Kev. Pleased with how things turned out in the end. Had +5.00 waiting for me with the Indian outright win and +10.81 for the ODI today leaves me +8.81 for the series (so far). That Kohli outright was a good one, probably should've got on that myself. Well played :ok
  2. Re: Cricket: India vs England ODI Series & T20 International I'm genuienly at a loss at how to read the Eden Gardens Pitch ahead of tomorrow. If you look back at all the ODI matches that have been played here, the numbers will tell you that this place is a fortress for batting. Unfortunately quite a lot of matches that were played here at the World Cup were mismatches so some of the 1st innings scores can be quite exaggerated, however going on before that, there were some pretty big numbers. In '09. India hosted Pakistan and Sri Lanka here and in those two ODI's India chased Sri Lanka's 315 and Pakistan chased India's 292. Impressive. However, what bothers me is that this pitch in the recent edition of the IPL was a nightmare for everyone involved. I was heavy on the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL4 (who happen to play their home matches at Eden Gardens) and when watching, it was often evident that visiting teams STRUGGLED to play here. I can back that with statistics. In the 8 matches that were played at Edem Gardens in this years IPL, the average 1st innings score there when a team OTHER than KKR batted first was 111.5! Horrible. If you compare that to the ODI figures then you can see why I don't know how the pitch will play, which as you can imagine, restricts certain bets. Regardless of the pitch though, I am going in with three: - 5pts India -3.5wickets/25.5runs @ EVS [sportingbet] Can't look past a whitewash here at all. As I have mentioned before, if you're not used to Indian conditions, you will STRUGGLE at Eden Gardens. England have played 6matches in the sub-continent now (if you include the warm-up games) and still look out of their depth. They have fielded like shit, Batted like shit and bowled like shit since they've been here and that's not going to help one bit. A lot of Indian players are in form and I really can't see past any other result here tomorrow. Dhoni has publicly said that he want a 5-0 so I see no let up. Rahane is in form. Kohli is in mad form. Varun Aaron is in form and Gautam Gambhir knows this place like the back of his hand...... - 4pts Gautam Gambhir Match Runs: Over 28.5 @ 5/6 [Ladbrokes] Gautam Gambhir has a great record here at Eden Gardens. He is the captain of Kolkata Knight Riders who play their home IPL games here and he has the satisfaction of knowing that the last time he played an ODI here, he shared a 224-run stand with Virat Kohli where he ended up with 150*. It's like he has been teetering on the verge of a massive innings this series. He's due a century and has looked in sublime form at times. Whether the pitch plays slow, or fast, he is adept at handling both situations and I think 29 runs is minor for him in his own back yard. Overs for me. - 3pts Player Performance: R Ashwin 36&Over @ 5/6[bet365] As soon as I saw Eden Gardens, I thought of Ashwin for Top Bowler tomorrow. The price of 3/1 though doesn't really do it for me though. The bookies have reduced it a fair bit after his impressive outing last time out which is unfortunate. However I still expect him to get two wickets tomorrow. He has been England's chief tormentor all series. They simply cannot handle this guy at all and he always looks a threat whenever he bowls. If this pitch proves to be a slow turner, you can expect wickets from Ashwin and if worst comes to worst, he can have a swing coming in at #8 too. To be honest, even if the pitch plays against how it played in the IPL, the sheer mystery he serves up could be enough to see two wickets. Overs again. If anyone knows anything I don't about what they think the curator will serve up tomorrow, please let me know. If not, these are my three for the final ODI.

  3. Re: Cricket: India vs England ODI Series & T20 International

    WIN - 7pts Total Sixes: Under 6.5 @ 5/6 [General] WIN - 4pts Player Performance: C. Kiewswetter Under 45 @ 5/6 [bet365]
That's more like it. Sixes never really looked in danger. Kieswetter started well with the bat but I never really saw him making up the points required in the field. Bit annoyed I never got on the wides actually. That one Kumar over had 10 in it by itself! +9.13 for the match then and it follows a pretty good day in here. Majority of winners for you Kev and same for you Hulk. Good work chaps!
  4. Re: Cricket: South Africa vs Australia T20 Internationals & ODI Series

    LOSS - 6pts Total Match Wides: Over 15.5 @ 5/6 [WillHIll] LOSS - 4pts Total Boundaries: Over 49.5 @ 5/6 [WillHill]
46 boundaries. 9 wides. Quite annoying actually because Australia bowled 12 leg byes today and they were all balls which were agonisingly close to being 5 wides but became leg-byes by virtue of just clipping the batsman's pads. Clarke, Ponting and Watson getting 26 runs between didn't really help the boundary chase either. All the good work done in this series completely undone today. -0.82 for the series.
  5. Re: Cricket: South Africa vs Australia T20 Internationals & ODI Series Not doing too badly here. Need to keep that going with two: - 6pts Total Match Wides: Over 15.5 @ 5/6 [WillHIll] - 4pts Total Boundaries: Over 49.5 @ 5/6 [WillHill] Not much to add onto the wides than what's already been said before. We got 14 wides in only 51% of the time last time out and with no rain scheduled for tomorrow and similar line-ups expected, I can only envisage more of the same. Other bookies have cottoned on by making this price 8/11. Hills have it at 5/6 still. Get on it whilst you still can. With regards to the boundaries, I see a lot. This match is susceptible to alot of runs. If oyu remove the odd match where England destroyed SA for 119 in '09, the average score here is 257. There are always boundaries here too. We have alot of players who hit fours on both teams here with Smith, Amla, Kallis, Ponting, Hussey and Clarke all going to line-up. Ponting and Clarke were hitting fours for fun the other day too. I see alot of runs tomorrow, good weather and a lot of boundaries. Overs in both circumstances in Port Elizabeth.

  6. Re: Cricket: India vs England ODI Series & T20 International -16.13 from the match betting going into the 4th ODI. Need to fix that monstrosity. Two for me for tomorrow. For now anyway. - 7pts Total Sixes: Under 6.5 @ 5/6 [General] Low-scoring match on the cards tomorrow. The average 1st Innings Score here is 220 and there are reports of a mad heat-wave in Mumbai right now. England will be under pressure from the very beginning tomorrow with hot, muggy and humid weather and that plays right into India's hands. If you remove the obvious mis-match played here in the World Cup (NZ vs Canada), this ground has seen Over 6.5 sixes ONCE in the past 8 ODI's (going back to '05). There aren't high scores here. The Mumbai Indians play here in the IPL and a team packed with Pollard, Sachin, Symonds, Rayudu and Rohit Sharma often found it difficult to clear the ropes here. In horrible conditions I don't expect maximums at all. To make matters worse, the track here is a slow turner. There's no pace in the track at all and there are reports that the curator says a dry pitch is in store for tomorrow. Unders definitely here. - 4pts Player Performance: C. Kiewswetter Under 45 @ 5/6 [bet365] Obvious pick here. Slow turner, which is what Kieswetter is poor with. Slow turner, which is not common for the best carry and a lot of edges (especially with a lacklustre England pace attack). I'm not wholly convinced Kieswetter has got the grips of these Indian decks. There are several calls for his head right now and with Ian Bell wiaiting in the wings, he may not even play tomorrow. He needs a big performance and I don't think he will get that here. He had a mare with the gloves the other day, his confidence will be rock bottom. Unders again for the gloves man.

  7. Re: Cricket: South Africa vs Australia T20 Internationals & ODI Series

VOID - 6pts Total Match Wides: Over 15.5 @ 5/6 [WillHill] WIN - 4pts Fall of Australia First Wicket: Under 30.5 runs @ 5/6 [Ladbrokes]
We only had 51 overs of cricket today and we still generated 14 wides. So much rain meant the bet was voided though so it's all good. Steyn absolutely cleaned Warner up early on though to ensure profit for the match. +9.82 for the series.
  8. Re: Cricket: India vs England ODI Series & T20 International Tomorrow's match is being played at Mohali. Eleven of the last sixteen matches here have been won by the side batting first which tells us that you should really back the side with the longer odds. Even with England at 7/5 I'm not tempted to get on them. This will probably be their best chance of getting a match on the board but unfortunately, they haven't showed me enough so far at all to even consider putting £ on them to win. Going with the one to try and claw back that horrible deficit: - 6pts Total Wides: Over 15.5 @ 10/11 [stanJames] England are horrible with wides/extras. Without the control of Anderson and Broad they leak runs for fun and it has showed with them conceding 31 wides in the 2 ODI's already. Now simple maths tell us that that's an average of 15.5 wides already and we're only talking about England. With the addition of Yadav, India have started to concede a few too. They conceded 11 themselves in the 2nd ODI on a track that was pretty dead. The track at Mohali has often suited seamers which should give it some kick for the likes of Finn touching 90mph+. Last time out saw at least one wide from Bresnan, Dernbach, Finn, Bopara, Swann AND Pietersen! An average day from England alone sees overs here. I've already mentioned that it's difficult bowling under lights here too. Expect dew later on and problems gripping the ball, for either side. Overs here. Incidentally, Bluesq do Alastair Cook to outscore Craig Kieswetter @ 8/11 which I am very close to pulling the plug on. If I get some kind of divine intervention on that, I'll come back with it later. Overs on the wides for now.

  9. Re: Cricket: South Africa vs Australia T20 Internationals & ODI Series Looking to carry on the success of the 2nd T20 with the following: - 6pts Total Match Wides: Over 15.5 @ 5/6 [WillHill] South Africa have named Imran Tahir in their ODI squad for this series but there are a few scattered thunderstorms lurking tomorrow so I don't think he'll feature. Therefore we should get quite a few pace bowlers tomorrow and that signals wides. Dale Steyn. Morne Morkel. Llonwabo Ttosobe. Dougie Bollinger. Mitchell Johnson and the debutant Pat Cummins. All of those can generate speeds of 85mph+ and on a pitch which can offer shit for the bowlers I sense a few loose deliveries and over the head wides. Definitely. Australia have never been tight with the extras. You'd think that maybe they'd be reduced with the absence of Brett Lee but with Pat Cummins coming in on debut full of nerves, I reckon it balances out. Likewise if any of the South Africans stray down leg, they have enough pace to take it to the boundary. There's a nice mix of right and left handers throughout both teams too which aids this market nicely. I'll take overs quite confidently at Centurion tomorrow. - 4pts Fall of Australia First Wicket: Under 30.5 runs @ 5/6 [Ladbrokes] One thing that South Africa have always been good at is striking early. Okay so they haven't played a lot of cricket in the past seven months but despite that I don't think their wicket taking abilities will have changed that much in that time. If you asked me which opening pair I would least want to face first up with a brand new white kookaburra cherry in a match being played in Jo'burg... My answer would definitely be Steyn and Morkel. That's what Asutralia have here. Watson will almost certainly be ruled out tomorrow and Shaun Marsh will come in to replace him. Marsh as an opener? Not so sure. Warner opening coming off the back off two straight ducks in South African conditions? Not so sure. If you want some statistics to back this up I'll give you them. South Africa struck before 31 runs in every single one of their world cup games earlier on in the year barring the one time where Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag took them to the sword. You will be hard pushed to find a better opening pair than those two in the history of cricket so you can let them off there. They didn't always open with Steyn and Morkel either. Sometimes it was Petersen/Steyn. Sometimes it was Ttosobe/Botha! Whichever pairing it was. Unders always prevailed. I like unders here and Ladbrokes offer the highest line around at 30.5. I'm involved.

  10. Re: Cricket: India vs England ODI Series & T20 International

    WIN - 5pts India -2.5wickets/15.5runs (vs. England) @ 10/11 [sportingbet] LOSS - 4pts Player Performance: Ravi Jadeja 40&Over @ 5/6 [bet365] LOSS - 3pts Highest Individual Score: 50-74 @ 11/4 [bluesq]
For some odd reason the cricket is not available to watch on SkyGo so I haven't actually had a chance to watch any of this. The mammoth stand between Gambir and Kohli pretty much took the Jadeja bet out of the equation, the high score bet and the sixes bet too. Probably should've trusted my gut and went in a bit more on the handicap but such is life. -2.45 for the match and -10.13.
  11. Re: Cricket: South Africa vs Australia T20 Internationals & ODI Series

    LOSS - 3pts Highest 1st 6 Overs: Australia @ 5/6 [VC] WIN - 5pts Sixes Matchbet: Australia @ 11/10 [VC] WIN - 4pts Australia Sixes: Over 5.5 @ EVS [Ladbrokes]
Watson not playing didn't really help proceedings but overall it went pretty much to plan. +6.50 for the match which is a nice start heading into the ODI series. Played Kev.
  12. Re: Cricket: India vs England ODI Series & T20 International Not going to get another chance to get these up before tomorrow so getting mine in now: - 5pts India -2.5wickets/15.5runs (vs. England) @ 10/11 [sportingbet] England are in trouble here. The difference between the two sides a few days ago was the small factor of spin. England could not handle the middle-over period where India had Ravi Jadeja and Ravi Ashwin turning the ball over from both ends and that is what theyre in for tomorrow at the Kotla. It's a slow, low-scoring, turning track here which plays right into India's hands and right out of England's. India have a good record here too. They've won 9 of their last 15 games here and when England came here last time, they won with Harbhajan taking 5 wickets. England do pose a spin threat themselves with Graeme Swann but it isn't backed up with the talents of anyone else. India in their own back yard will be able to handle it far better than England will too. If India win this one (which I think they will), they should be able to cover this relatively small handicap. Definitely happy to be on the home side here. - 4pts Player Performance: Ravi Jadeja 40&Over @ 5/6 [bet365] Jadeja should get to bowl all ten tomorrow. As I mentioned earlier, the track will benefit spin alot and he should be able to get amongst England's middle order like he did the other day. There he took 3 wickets in seven overs on a pitch that is probably not as condusive to spin bowling as this one. He may also get a chance to bat tomorrow which will help this a fair bit. He smashed a quick 27 runs a few days ago at number 7 showing he is very canny with the bat. Small chance of a catch is always present too. Overs for me. - 3pts Highest Individual Score: 50-74 @ 11/4 [bluesq] You won't see very many high scores here at the Kotla. The average 1st innings score here is 235. You won't see that many centuries and you won't see that many sixes. For that reason I'm taking this bet on which was a common winner at this ground in the recent World Cup. Once the pace comes off the ball it will be quite tricky to score runs here so it's going to take a innings of graft and concentration to determination to top score. Gambhir, Kohli, Dhoni, Trott and KP are all capable of doing that but at the same time I think there'll be scores closer to 50 than 100.

  13. Re: Cricket: South Africa vs Australia T20 Internationals & ODI Series Glad I avoided the first T20, not missing out on the 2nd though. 3 for me and I'm going to tackle them all in one go: - 3pts Highest 1st 6 Overs: Australia @ 5/6 [VC] - 5pts Sixes Matchbet: Australia @ 11/10 [VC] - 4pts Australia Sixes: Over 5.5 @ EVS [Ladbrokes] This is a six hitting ground. England were the last visiting team here and they ran up a 1st innings score of 202 where they hit 9 sixes. South Africa's innings was cut short by rain, they only scored 127 in 13 overs and hit 9 sixes themselves! 18 sixes in a shortened match is impressive. The over/under line for Total 6's is widely set at 10.5 which, to be honest sounds about right. If there were two teams like Australia playing tomorrow I'd definitely bite. We don't have that luxury though. We have Australia playing South Africa. A rusty South Africa too. If Graeme Smith or Hashim Amla bat for too long (which they are more than capable of doing), then their sixes count won't be that big. Duminy can clear the ropes easily but as we saw the other day, he doesn't hit out until his eye is firmly in. That's not what we have with the Aussies. The top five of Watson, Warner, Marsh, Hussey and White can ALL clear the ropes off any type of bowling at any time. I trust them alot more than the South Africans to hit sixes here and that's why I'm taking them on to hit 6 at Ladbrokes. They hit 4 last time out on a track that will be alot deader than this one and that was also without contributions from Warner or Marsh. If any of them come off tomorrow then we should be in the green. The top two naturally play aggressively as we all know so the 1st six overs looks a straight-forward one. Bollinger and Cummins looked dangerous early up the other day and it helped Australia saunter to this bet by a massive 16 runs. Smith and Amla are still very rusty despite having played a few days ago so I think it will be more of the same. Eggs very much in Australia's basket for tomorrow.

  14. Re: Spain - La Liga - 15-17 October One for me this weekend: - 3pts Sevilla to Keep a Clean Sheet (vs. Sporting Gijon)? Yes @ EVS [Ladbrokes] Was close to pulling the plug on Atletico and Real Madrid this week but decided against doing so. I've been fxcked over too many times by the "big" teams in La Liga after European and International breaks so I'm learning my lesson. The one for me then comes from Sevilla. They have an impeccable record against Gijon at home winning 13 of their last 14 matches against them. Gijon really are in trouble right now. They seem lost without Diego Castro and it shows having not scored a goal in any league match since early September! On a similar level, Sevilla haven't actually conceded a goal in their last four league matches. Home or away. Sevilla to win to nil was going to be a play but they have also only scored twice in that 4-game period and they are set to miss Negredo night again. Leave that one and play on the defence keeping things tight at the back. EVS is a nice price and I'm happy to take it on.

  15. Re: Cricket: India vs England ODI Series & T20 International

LOSS - 8pts England Sixes: Over 2.5 @ 5/6 [Ladbrokes] WIN - 4pts Virat Kohli -0.5runs (vs. Kevin Pietersen) @ 5/6 [Ladbrokes] LOSS - 3pts Century to be Scored in Match: Yes@ EVS [VC]
Horrible performance from England. Cost me a fair bit of coin. The Kohli bet was a small earner but still didn't really help in the grand scheme of things. The Century bet was a luxury that didn't need to be taken either. Dhoni, Raina and Cooky looked good but neither came to town. -7.68 for the match. Steve Finn saved your bacon Kev. Played :lol
  16. Re: Cricket: India vs England ODI Series & T20 International Time to get going on tomorrow's proceedings. - 8pts England Sixes: Over 2.5 @ 5/6 [Ladbrokes] Bold beginnings here but completely justified in my eyes. The deck here at Hyderabad is a pretty good one. There have only every been three ODI's played here but the average innings score here is 288.5. Infact, the last match here saw 350 play 347 and produced 22 sixes. Some may say that those matches aforementioned were over a few years ago but since then this stadium has been used in the IPL where there have also been some pretty decent scores. Three sixes is easily within reach for this England side. Kieswetter, Pietersen, Bell, Bairstow, Bopara, Bresnan and even Chris Woakes can all hit. Infact click here to see the carnage produced when Jonny Bairstow came to town a few days ago. I don't really see too much trouble in India's bowling to prevent three maximums either. Overs for me. Confidently too. - 4pts Virat Kohli -0.5runs (vs. Kevin Pietersen) @ 5/6 [Ladbrokes] My two favourite batsmen in modern times here and I have to take one on. I know KP will come back sooner or later but I don't think it will be tomorrow. His ODI average is dire over the past 18months and he lacks practice. England racked up 367 inthe warm-up match here yet KP came in at #4 and got 10. Another failing to Left-Arm Spin. He still raises a high profile wherever he goes however so India will have a plan for him. I don;t see him outscoring hotshot Kohli tomorrow and will bet that he doesn't. Kohli comes into this brimming with confidence and in pretty terrific form. KP quite the contrary. Virat to take this one. - 3pts Century to be Scored in Match: Yes@ EVS [VC] Every 50-over match here has seen a century scored by at least one player. In the last match here, Shaun Marsh and Sachin Tendulkar both hit better than run-a-ball hundreds. Yuvraj Singh did the same in '07 and '05 here too. Virender Sehwag hit a hundred here in a Twenty20 match much to my annoyance in the IPL this year in a match where he scored 119 of his teams 179 runs. It's a track conclusive to big team scores and big individual scores so I think there'll be another tomorrow. Just hit the link I embedded earlier for another reminder of what Jonny Bairstow did this week. Alastair Cook wasn't too far behind either. Runs to be scored tomorrow. Good luck to anyone else involved :ok

  17. Re: Cricket: India vs England ODI Series & T20 International Right, time to pull the plug on this series. I think it's going to be a long hard month for England. One outright. Need to get on this before the price caves. - 6pts India to win the ODI Series @ 8/11 [VC] India in India is a proposition that not many international teams can handle. They have won 11 of their last 13 series on home soil with those two defeats coming at the hand of the mighty Australians in '07 and '09. Admittedly, India will be without Virender Sehwag, Munaf Patel, Sachin Tendulkar and Zaheer Khan for the majority of the next month. That may worry a few punters but the fact is, the conditions in India will be very difficult for an equally weakened England side to deal with. England arrive in the sub-continent with a bowling attack likely to be lead by Tim Bresnan. Whilst he isn't a bad cricketer by any stetch of any imagination, he's hardly "lead the line and set by example" material. He will be supported by Stuart Meaker (yet to make his debut), Steven Finn (not completely sold on him yet) and Jade Dernbach. Ravi Bopara will probably get to turn his arm over for a few overs and so will the likes of Kevin Pietersen, Samit Patel and of course Graham Swann. That doesn't fill me with a great deal of confidence. As I mentioned before, India are weakened as well but still remain a strong outfit. Their batting line-up still features Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina. All of which featured at the World Cup this year. Praveen Kumar and Ravi Ashwin are among the bowlers here too and I feel that alot has been wrongly read into their shortcomings this summer. In India at dead tracks like Eden Gardens I think they'll be too much for this England side. Home team for me all day at a very good price.

  18. Re: Cricket : Champions League Twenty20 2011

WIN - 5pts Mumbai Indians to beat Royal Challengers Bangalore @ 5/4 [Ladbrokes]
Nice earner to finish this one off them with the Mumbai Indians successfully defending that pretty low total. The wides came in too with 14 wides coming in that second innings alone and 3 run outs as well. +6.25 for the final then, cancelling out yesterdays losses and leaving me in small profit for the tournament. Looks like there wasn't a single loser in here for the final. Other Sports is shittin' on the rest. Let's keep it going for the ODI series in India next week :ok
  19. Re: Cricket : Champions League Twenty20 2011

LOSS - 3pts Somerset to beat Mumbai Indians @ 6/5 [Coral] LOSS - 2pts Fifty in Match? NO @ 13/8 [WillHill] LOSS - 1pt Somerset Top Batsman: R. van der Merwe @ 9/2 [General]
Shocker yesterday, read the game all wrong. Wasn't even any rain to save me either. The less said about that the better. One game left to return a profit for me then and I'm going with yesterdays winners. - 5pts Mumbai Indians to beat Royal Challengers Bangalore @ 5/4 [Ladbrokes] Great price on Mumbai here. Far better than anywhere else. I genuinely think that RCB will come unstuck on this pitch today, somewhere where they are yet to play so far in this tournament. I feel that this match will come down to Mumbai's bowling versus Bangalore's batting and on a slow/low pitch, I think the top 3 may find it tricky. We all know Gayle and Dilshan in particular love the ball coming onto the bat and that's not where theyre going to get here. The average price around other bookies is closer to 2.10, 2.25 at Ladbrokes has to be the play.
  20. Re: Cricket : Champions League Twenty20 2011 Second semi starts soon. Thunderstorms are forecast for later on this evening so conservative stakes are the way to go. - 3pts Somerset to beat Mumbai Indians @ 6/5 [Coral] - 2pts Fifty in Match? NO @ 13/8 [WillHill] Even if there wasn't any rain about I would still be on these bets, especially with it being played at Chennai. The track here is horrible. You may look at the results here and say, yes David Warner did hit a century here but those types of innings don't come around often. This will be a low scoring encounter which will favour the spinners. Somerset with three spinners have to be favoured here especially at odds-against. Mumbai have a stupid amount of injuries and really and truly, without Malinga's mad spell of hitting the other day, they wouldn't be here. Infact, they shouldn't be here. They have no real stability in their top order, their middle order of Symonds and Pollard haven't produced and removing Harbhajan and Malinga, they're bowling is weak. Yes there is the potential of being caught on the wrong side of the D/L ruling tonight. Minor. Somerset for me AND no fifties. - 1pt Somerset Top Batsman: R. van der Merwe @ 9/2 [General] I've never really mastered the art of nailing Top Bat's. They can be a lucrative area though and with the prospect of rain, I'll happily be onside of Roelof here at 9/2. He's in great form. He hit a brisk 32 not too long ago and coupled that with a 23 the otehr day in Bengaluru. His bowling has been impressive too lately and he looks full of confidence. Craig Kieswetter won't go well here either. If this was at Bangalore, I might say Craig would be my selection here as we all know he likes those flat decks where th white cherry zooms onto his bat. Not here. I think he'll depart early which gives RVDM a great chance of snagging this. If Somerset bat second and have their chasing score refined then this bet becomes even tastier. Happy to be on the South African here.

  21. Re: Cricket : Champions League Twenty20 2011

LOSS- 3pts New South Wales (vs. Royal Challengers Bangalore) @ 11/10 [General] WIN - 6pts RCB Sixes: Over 6.5 @ 5/6 [Ladbrokes
Katich didn't win the toss unfortunately and once again the chasing side won. Gayle going mad brought the sixes in comfortably though so no sweat there. +2.00 for the match. A side note, for all the talk about the pyrotechnics of Warner and Gayle etc, I really do think Virat Kohli goes slightly undetected. Twice now he's guided RCB home with two fxcking amazing innings. 84 from 49 today and 70 from 36 before. Brilliant player. Nice one Wongy :ok
  22. Re: Cricket : Champions League Twenty20 2011 Semi Finals start tomorrow and I'm going in with a couple. - 3pts New South Wales (vs. Royal Challengers Bangalore) @ 11/10 [General] Been umming and ahhing about this bet all day but I've decided to pull the trigger. RCB are a batsman light for me. Lets say something drastic happens early up and RCB are three down after 8-or-so overs. They're pretty much fxcked. De Villiers is a big loss for them and despite them getting to the semi-finals and chasing down 214, I still feel their batting is an issue. NSW on the other hand don't really have any problems. They've only used 12 lplayers in the whole tournament. Theyre team is settled and they have canny bowlers who CAN potentially tie the mighty RCB down in the middle overs. They're also very, very sharp in the field. Watson and Warner have the ability to take the game away from any team and if they get a good start, I reckon they can take it. *prays Katich wins the toss and elects to field first* - 6pts RCB Sixes: Over 6.5 @ 5/6 [Ladbrokes Sixes are a given at this Bangalore ground. I think Ladbrokes have been very generous here in their line setting for each respective team and I expect a lot of runs and a lot of maximums. Let's take Bangalore's recent games on this ground. Yesterdays thriller against the Redbacks saw them hit 15 sixes alone. Game before, Chris Gayle went mad; 14 sixes there. Before that they entertained KKR and hit 9 maximums there. Each time they've played they have COMFORTABLY cleared this total. Not quite sure why Ladbrokes are asking for only seven maximums here but I am getting on quickly. A good day from any of Gayle, Dilshan, Kohli, Tiwary and this is wrapped up quickly. Don't really want to miss out and can't really see the trend changing.

WIN - 4pts Total Sixes: Under 8.5 @ 5/6 [sportingbet] WIN - 2pts Fifty to be Scored in Match?: No @ 7/4 [WillHill]
Pleased with these yesterday. Game panned out exactly how I thought it would resulting in +6.82 for the match. Leaving today's proceedings though. I don't really have any faith in backing RCB in this tournament after their performances so far. Definitely one to watch with interest rather than bet. Good luck to all involved.
