  1. Re: Spain - La Liga - 17-18 December Atletico look a good bet this weekend, but they have messed me up TOO many times in the past especially after midweek games. Bilbao also look good at home this weekend but their recent form worries me alot. I don't understand why Javi Martinez is being played in defence all the time and it seems that they can't score nowadays if Llorente doesn't turn up. Real Madrid also look a good bet at 1.50. Can't see anything other than an away win there. Definitely expected that to be shorter. Same with Valencia, Malaga are a good side but at the Mestalla, they should go down to a defeat. Valencia worry me thouhg, I still dont quite understand how they threw that game away last week and they seem to be still getting over losing to Chelsea so easily. The bet of the weekend then has to be Osasuna. They had a 4-3-0 recrod at home this year to Villareals HORRIBLE 0-2-5 record away. Osasuna aren't conceding at home either and without Nilnar, Rossi and others, Villareal lack potency. At odds against, I would say they're the team to be on.

  2. Re: Cricket: South Africa vs Sri Lanka Test Series

    WIN - 3pts Fall of 1st Sri Lanka Wicket: Under 27.5 runs @ 5/6 [Ladbrokes] WIN - 4pts Player Performance: Mahela Jayawardene Under 84 @ 5/6 [bet365]
Last week made me doubt myself, the "other" bet I spoke of was SA taking a -100.5 first innings lead which would've made this 3/3. On a normal week I definitely would've gone with larger stakes too which is quite annoying. Minor though, +5.82 for the Test with Jayawardene never really getting close to his target and Dilshan fxcking up early doors in the 1st innings.
  3. Re: Cricket: South Africa vs Sri Lanka Test Series I fancy South Africa to win the series 2-0. It's priced nicely at 5/2 over at Ladbrokes. Will avoid though and take a few for the 1st Test. Thinking of another one too, may come back with that later. For now: - 3pts Fall of 1st Sri Lanka Wicket: Under 27.5 runs @ 5/6 [Ladbrokes] I've said before so many times how good South Africa are at striking first with their seam bowlers. In their last four matches at Centurion, a wicket has fallen before 20 runs. The pitch has been described as "green as the Pakistani Kit" in the run-up to this match which should help any seam attack. South Africa just happen to have the best seam attack in the world right now with the impressive looking Vernon Philander to back up Steyn and Morkel. Paranavitana and Dilshan had a good knock in the warm-up matches, but I don't see many fun and games for them tomorrow. Wicket early up for me. - 4pts Player Performance: Mahela Jayawardene Under 84 @ 5/6 [bet365] I have not been impressed with Mahela this year in Test Matches. No-one can deny his undoubted ability as a batsmen, I mean, he's one of the best to have ever graced the game, however his record in 2011 is atrocious. In 17 innings, he has scored 427 runs at a horrible average of 25.11. 105 of those runs came in one innings and he has two scores of 51. Take out those three innings and he has scored 220 runs at an average of 15.71. Not the greatest from such an accomplished batsman at all. I genuinely think that Sri Lanka will struggle here in Centurion with such a zingy pitch expected. Steyn and Morkel will be raring to go and I think there will be early wickets as explained above. Jayawardene has played here twice before and scored 40 performance points and 84 performance points, I think unders will strike three times.

  4. Re: Cricket: India vs West Indies - ODI Series

    WIN - 4pts Match Wides: Under 17.5 @ 5/6 [WillHill] PUSH - 4pts Player Performance: V Sehwag Under 39 @ 5/6 [WillHill] LOSS - 4pts Total Sixes: Under 6.5 @ 5/6 [WillHill] LOSS - 2.41pts Highest Individual Score: 50-74 @ 3.75 [bluesq] LOSS - 2.589pts Highest Individual Score: 74-99 @ 3.5 [bluesq]
Pollard rounds out the worst week in my betting "career". Pathan was doing his best to fxck the wides bet too but that was the only saving grace. Two centurions and 13 sixes from the Windies. Fxck.
  5. Re: Cricket: India vs West Indies - ODI Series Dead rubber tomorrow but I'm effectively on India at 1.75. Fancy a few though so here goes: - 4pts Match Wides: Under 17.5 @ 5/6 [WillHill] I got burnt with this in the last match, but at the Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai I expect a low, slow turner. This stadium was a nightmare for anyone involved in the IPL and I expect the West Indies to struggle a lot with the conditions. They don't play spin well at the best of times and I think theyre going to get a full amount of overs from Ashwin, Jadeja and Raina. The spinners won't bowl a great deal of wides. You may get the odd few that squirt down the leg side but there won't be a whole load. This inflated line gives us a bit more cover aswell and with no real problems with dew in Chennai I expect unders tomorrow on the wides. - 4pts Player Performance: V Sehwag Under 39 @ 5/6 [WillHill] When someone does well, there is always an overreaction in the next match. This line is quite high for someone who only bats and I am happy to play under here. Yes he smashed all kinds of records in the last match but we need to remember his form before that. He had scores of 20, 26 and 0. He got the benefit of wayward bowling early up, beautiful batting conditions and some small boundaries at Indore. He won't get that here. West Indies will probably have a plan for him and his record here isn't overly amazing. All eyes will be on Sehwag tomorrow but I think there'll be a big anti-climax. Unders for me. - 4pts Total Sixes: Under 6.5 @ 5/6 [WillHill] - 2.41pts Highest Individual Score: 50-74 @ 3.75 [bluesq] - 2.589pts Highest Individual Score: 74-99 @ 3.5 [bluesq] Also don't envisage that many sixes. There have been five matches here in the past 12 months and only one of them has seen seven or more sixes. This stadium in Chennai isn't prone to many high scores. In those five matches, the average 1st Innings score is 171. If West Indies bat first I don't expect them to do very well and it should ensure unders. Of course we have the threat of a Pollard or Sehwag slaughter but I am willing to take them on. There wont be much on offer with the plethora of spin expected and I am happy with the line to play under. Same too with the high score. Yuvraj got a century here in the World Cup but in those four matches prior I keep referring to, the highest score was 81. "No Century in Match" was priced at 4/6. The dutch gets odds of 4/5. I'll play on the dutch.

  6. Re: Spain - La Liga - 10-11 December I think I'm going to enjoy the Clasico this weekend with no money on it. Part of me wants to get on Barca so badly. I mean when will they ever be 2/1 to win a match again in the near future. I'll leave it and go with an early one: - 4pts Real Betis vs Valencia -0.25AH @ 21/20 [bet365] Betis are in some horrible form. They've lost nine of their last ten matches and the one that they didn't lose was a drab 0-0 draw at home. They don't score enough goals. In that ten game stretch, they've scored four times. It's just not good enough for a team that has no injury problems. Valencia on the other hand are a good isde. The worry here is that I don't really know what impact the defeat to Chelsea in midweek will have on them. I took to their record after Champions League matches this season though and my worries were eased. They've played five group matches in the Champions League this season and have won on the following weekend in four out of the five games (With three of them being away from home (Levante, Gijon and Rayo)). I guess the Chelsea game may hit them a bit harder than the others but they're playing against a very bad side in Betis, they should have enough to see them off and getting odds-against with the some partial cover on the draw is good enough for me to go in.

  7. Re: Cricket: Bangladesh vs Pakistan Test Series 3 for me in the 1st Test: - 3pts Pakistan Opening Partnership: Over 34.5 @ 5/6 [Ladbrokes] Tentative one this one. I don't really rate the Bangladesh seam attack. They haven't played a lot of Test cricket this year but in two of the three Tests they've played, they didn't take a wicket until they conceded 100 (vs. West Indies) and 102 (vs. Zimbabwe). On the flipside, the Pakistani openers are two which are finding their feet as an opening pair. I don't know what Mohammad Hafeez has been eating in the past year but he's been in the form of his life. Taufeeq Umar is also playing well and I see the two of them getting to 35 before one of them is back in the team dressing room. - 5pts Player Performance: Mushfiqur Rahim 85&Over @ 5/6 [bet365] The one player who can safely say that they've been doing their bit for Bangladesh recent is Mushfiqur Rahim. He has been in tip-top form lately with both the gloves and the bat and he has also been enjoying his stint as team captain. What I like about this bet though is the fact that his record at this stadium in Chittagong is fantastic. He's played 6 Test Matches here since 2008 and his scores have read the following: 68 & 2* (vs. WI). 79 & 95 (vs England), 44 & 101 (vs. India), 21 & 43 (vs. India) 79 & 32 (vs. NZ) and 14 & 4 (vs. South Africa). Very impressive numbers. The pitch here should offer some assistance to the spinners too. Bangladesh' spin attack isn't completely useless so the threat of a stumping is definitely there as well as the 10 he should get for one catch over the course of the two (maybe one) Pakistani innings. Instead of going with Top Bat, I'll take the player performance incase he decides to turn it on in the 2nd Innings. Overs for me. - 8pts Player Performance: Saeed Ajmal 111&Over @ 5/6 [bet365] I've had a pretty shit week with Arsenal messing me up at Fulham last weekend, Valencia messing me up at Stanford Bridge and then my own team United in Basel. So touching this with such a heavy stake is a risk, a big risk. However I feel my man Ajmal can do the business. I'm a big fan of this dude. I genuinely think he's the best spinner in world cricket today ESPECIALLY on sub-continent pitches. I think he has the tools to take five wickets here in this match and that's all I think he'll need for overs. There's no way Bangladesh won't bat more than once in this match which should give Ajmal plenty of time to work his magic. The Bangladeshi batsmen aren't the best players of spin the game has ever seen and I think they will struggle with prolonged spells of Ajmal's bowling. The last match that was played here in Chittagong was only six weeks ago. Seventeen of the Twenty-Four matches that fell in that match to spin. Ajmal should be good for five wickets, if not more.

  8. Re: Cricket: Bangladesh vs Pakistan Test Series One outright for me, unusual that I get involved in two match series outrights but the price is abit too much for me to let go. - 5pts Series Correct Score: Bangladesh 0-2 Pakistan @ 4/5 [stan James] It's rude not to get involved in this, especially considering this is 1.53 at 365. Pakistan are heavy favourites here in Bangladesh and it's with good reason. On these decks very similar to the pitches seen in their own country they're a formiddable force. Bangladesh aren't. There is nothing in their seam attack and their batsmen are too weak for Test level in my eyes. Their key players aren't stepping to the fore and it speaks volumes that one of their best players a few years ago Mohammad Ashraful is just getting a recall now. I can't see anything other than a Pakistan sweep here. I guess the threat is the unreliable rain in the sub-continent and maybe Bangladesh holding on for a draw somewhere. In the event of good weather though, Pakistan all day.

  9. Re: Cricket: India vs West Indies - ODI Series

    LOSS - 3pts Sixes Matchbet: West Indies @ 11/10 WIN - 4pts Total Sixes: Over 9.5 @ EVS LOSS - 4pts Total Wides: Over 16.5 @ 5/6
This really has rounded off a shit week for me. Even when Russell went I still thought Ramdin, Rampaul, Sammy and Roach could get us the two sixes needed but they didn't and in the end it finished an annoying 7-7. Fifteen wides aswell. -3.00 for the day. :sad
  10. Re: Cricket: India vs West Indies - ODI Series Good luck with that CB. I agree with what you said in regards to the dynamic ability of the West Indies and with that I will take the following: - 3pts Sixes Matchbet: West Indies @ 11/10 - 4pts Total Sixes: Over 9.5 @ EVS As soon as I found out that this match was going to be played at Indore, I wanted to touch overs on the sixes. Both these sides have a lot of guys who can clear the ropes and on the tiny boundaries here in North India, I expect to see alot of mamimums. We've already seen a mighty effort from the Windies in terms of sixes so far this tournament with them hitting 16 in the last two games and with the potential threat of Raina, Sharma and of course, Virender Sehwag, you cannot deny the Indians ability to cross the ropes here too. There were two IPL matches here last year, the first game saw 17 maximums, the second saw Eleven where 98 played 97. There is definite scope for sixes here at Indore and with the players down to Ravi Rampaul who can clear the ropes, I expect the West Indies to triumph. - 4pts Total Wides: Over 16.5 @ 5/6 These two sides are no strangers to wide deliveries. Both sides have a lot of seamers present and two of the three ODI's so far have cleared this line. What makes me want to play again though is the threat of dew at this Indore pitch. Late afternoon dew is a problem here in Indore with the stadium being at the foot of the some pretty serious mountain range. The preview on cricinfo tells us that apparently the curator here is banking on some chemical to negate the effect of dew tomorrow. I don't know what kind of magic spray he thinks he has but I'm not completely sold and I expect the side fielding second to struggle. Dew brings wides, add those wides to the wides that would come anyway from these two sides and we should see 17+. Overs for me.

  11. Re: UEFA Champions League > Tuesday 6th December Don't usually like getting involved with the 6th Matchday of the Champions League but I've seen a double here that I like: - 6pts Team Goals Double: Bayer Leverkusen Over 1.5 (vs. Genk) x Valencia Over 0.5 (vs. Chelsea) @ 2.54 [Coral] Not much explanation needed here really. Bayer Leverkusen should handle Genk. They're away from home and have already qualified but will take a decent team to Belgium as they'll need to top their group. Genk are in the middle of a massive injury crisis too with several key players missing. Leverkusen's away record hasn't really been saying alot this year in the UCL but they have had to go to the Bridge and the Mestalla so they can be excused there. Genk stopped Valencia scoring and kept Chelsea to one this year but I see two goals for Leverkusen tomorrow in a pointless match for the Belgian side. I see a goal for Valencia too. Stamford Bridge is not the fortress it once was any more and I think Valencia will come out fighting tomorrow. Soldado and Jonas were rested on the weekend and Valencia know that if they score tomorrow, Chelsea are in serious trouble. There's mad pressure on Chelsea, alot of people calling for AVB's head. If Valencia score first theyre in a great position and there have been too many matches this season where Chelsea have looked susceptible at home. Away goal for me.

  12. Re: Cricket: Australia vs New Zealand Test Series Two for me ahead of tomorrow and I'm on the save wavelength of you Meatman: - 6pts Player Performance: T Southee 90&Over @ 5/6 [bet365] The talk coming out of the Woollongabba ahead of tomorrow is the fact that it should have some nice assistant for the seamers. This should play right into Tim Southee's hands here who has a fairly decent record here in Brisbane. Unlike Martin, Southee is actually decent the bat. I am pretty confident he can knock off the ten runs required to make this a four wicket line and with that I think overs will be seen. When he came here in 2008, he left with match figures of 5/125 and scored a handy 12 runs. I see something similar here and I think he and Chris Martin can ruffle some early feathers in the process. - 5pts Batsman Runs: Phillip Hughes Under 32.5 @ 5/6 [skybet] This seems to be a staple bet with every Test Match this dude plays. Having said that though, it's a common bet or a reason. I took a look at Hughes Test record in Australia and I discovered that Phil Hughes has never scored more than 31 when batting in the 1st Innings of any Test Match he has played in Australia. Ever. Infact his highest score in any innings in Australia is 37. For some reason, he doesn't fancy his own country a great deal and I think he'll have some early problems from Southee and Martin on a pitch which should offer some spice. His technique is patchy to say the least and he'll have a wobbly David Warner at the other end who will be in bits making his Test Debut. Unders for me.

  13. Re: Cricket: India vs West Indies - ODI Series Great match. How the Windies never won that I'll never know. From a personal perspective, I probably should've backed my original instincts ahead of the match, would've made a packet. India winning keeps the outright well and truly alive though. Few good shouts from Kev too with Bravo setting the pace early on. Played mate :ok

  14. Re: Cricket: India vs West Indies - ODI Series As for the 1st ODI, I'm going to swerve. There hasn't been an ODI here at Cuttack for nearly two years and in the 16 that have been played here, it has been a slow, low and pretty dead track. The curator has come out and promised a high scoring game for tomorrow though and has publicy stated that he "wouldn't rule out a score of 300+". With that kind of uncertainty and the small factors of a Sehwag/Pollard massacre, I'll avoid and see how things play out.

  15. Re: Cricket: India vs West Indies - ODI Series One series bet for me: - 4.88pts Series Correct Score: India 4-1 West Indies @ 2.88 [Ladbrokes] - 3.12pts Series Correct Score: India 5-0 West Indies @ 4.50 [Ladbrokes] Part of me feels that India have a few eyes on Australia. Part of me feels the overkill of cricket for the Indian team in recent months has to catch up on them sooner or later. Part of me feels that this is the best chance an International side will get for ages to win an ODI series in India for ages. Despite all this, I only see one result. India are without Dhoni, Tendulkar, Yuvraj, Harbhajan, Praveen Kumar and Zaheer Khan. They also have Sehwag as captain and their most experienced seamer has only played 11 ODI's. When you look at things like that then you have to say that the Windies have a chance. I don't think so though. They can't play spin and India is just a fxckery for any International side to come and play ODI cricket. The only side that's tasted victory over here were the MIGHTY Autralians in '05. I'll put it out there that there won't be a team like that again for years. India for me here at combined odds of 1.756.

  16. Re: England: Premier Nov 26-27 One for me this weekend: - 4pts Over 1.5 Team Goals Double: Arsenal (vs. Fulham) x Tottenham (vs. West Brom) @ 7/4 [Coral] I've been very successful in recent weeks with these Team Goals doubles and I see an opportunity for a decent pay-out this weekend with two massively in-form sides. Arsenal are pretty rampant right now especially with the crazy form of Robin Van Persie. Despite their midweek exploits, I expect them to handle Fulham without too much fuss. I've had a look at their record this season after midweek games and they have always scored 2 goals in their matches (home or away) barring their trip to White Hart Lane a few weeks back. Theyre on a pretty impressive run and have scored twice or more in 9 of their last ten home games. Similarly, Spurs are on fire. They should've despatched Villa by 4 or 5 on monday night and with a full strength side I only expect them to continue their good run at WBA this weekend. I see a high-scoring game here and I definitely see scope for two Spurs goals. They've scored scored at least two goals in EVERY SINGLE ONE of their last eleven League games dating back to their 5-1 mauling by Man City at the beginning of the year which is pretty damn impressive. West Brom don't exactly have the most watertight defence either. Their recent home record suggests only three goals conceded in their last four games but their hasn't really been that much quality in those games barring Liverpool (who scored 2 of those three!). A rampant spurs side can do the same this weekend and at 7/4, I fancy both London sides to do the business.

  17. Re: Spain - La Liga - 26-28 November One for me this weekend: - 6pts Over 1.5 Team Goals Double: Real Madrid (vs. Atletico Madrid) x Athletic Bilbao (vs. Granada) @ EVS (via Stan James) You can look at this bet and see why I'm taking it without even reading this explanation. Even if Real Madrid were to somehow lose this match against Atleti tomorrow, I'd still expect them to score twice. They have a stupidly good recent record against Atleti and are in crazy form. They've won their last 12 games in all competitions and 9 of them have come by a margin of three goals or more! They rested CR7 in midweek and still scored 6. I don't see them not scoring two tomorrow in any scneario. Same with Bilbao. After a shaky start they're definitely coming good this season. They were seconds away from beating Barca not too long ago and they went away to the Sanchez Pizjuan last week and WON. They have an infallable record at the San Mames and are expected to welcome back Javi Martinez this weekend. Granada's away record is P5 W1 L4 having scored in the only match they won. I wouldn't really advise against a -1.5 either but incase Granada spring a shock I'll go for the goals. EVS is a good return on two fairly safe bets.

  18. Re: Cricket: India vs West Indies - Test Series Genuinely don't remember the last time Mahendra Singh Dhoni got a duck in Indian conditions but at least Bishoo did exactly what I thought he would. Really nothign standing out for me in the 2nd Test barring one. - 5pts Player Performance: R Ashwin 121&Over @ 5/6 [bet365] I was tentative about doing this bet in the 1st Test because it was Ashwin's debut. 9 wickets later and a complete meltdown from the Windies and I don't give a damn. They simply cannot play spin and at the Kotla over the next week or so it's not going to get any better for them. Ashwin can easily take another 6 wickets here and bamboozle the West Indies even further. Even if they all don't come with the ball, 20 runs over two innings with the bat is another option for him too which I am pretty confident of him achieving. He'll be full of confidence following his amazing return last time out and I think he has everything in his armoury to clear this line. Overs for me.

  19. Re: Cricket: South Africa vs Australia - Test Series It annoys me how this is a two match Test Series. The ICC need to address this kind of shit very soon. Won't be getting into any outrights, just two ahead of the 1st Test. - 3pts South Africa to win the 1st Test @ 7/4 [bet365] South Africa have a fantastic record at Newlands. Out of all their Test venues, they have the best record there. They have won 4 of the last 7 tests their and drawn the remainder. Incidentally the last time South Africa lost here, Australia were the victors. However, that was back in 2006 and since then, the Langers and the Haydens and the Martyns and the Gilchrists and the Symonds and the Warnes have all moved on. Australia come into this with the majority of their players in very short-term form from their warm-up match last week. Dealing with Steyn, Morkel and the potential assisted threat from Tahir and Harris is a whole different story though and I think they'll struggle. I really like the look of the South African unit here and I am going to side with them. There is rain about in the 1st Day but despite that, I still think we'll get a result. There should be spark for the bowlers and that should be enough to see a result being produced, hopefully in favour of the home side. - 4pts Player Performance: Hashim Amla Under 91 @ 5/6 [bet365] Pretty straight-forward this one really. I haven't been wholly convinced by Amla's form since South Africa started playing cricket again and this line is high enough for me to shoot under. The statsguru at Cricinfo tells us that in the eight times he's played here, he's cleared this line only twice. Being an opener as well, he is almost guaranteed to bat in both innings aswell which makes 91 a touch too high for me. I am not doubting Amla's class as a batsman one bit, he's one of the best around but he has looked very rusty recently with scores of 4, 4, 24, 0 and 52 in the limited overs side of the game. I expect Mitchell Johnson to be fired up on in conditions that suit him to the floor early doors and I see trouble for South Africa's resident bearded batsman. Unders for me here.

  20. Re: Cricket: India vs West Indies - Test Series Can't add anything more to the above. Getting on that handicap as well with the same strength stake. Two ahead of the 1st Test for me: - 6pts MS Dhoni -4.5runs (vs. Carlton Baugh) @ 5/6 [Ladbrokes] I expect West Indies to struggle here in India and that will start with primarily their inexperienced batsmen. Carlton Baugh is not someone I rate that highly and I think that this handicap is a small one for MS Dhoni to cover. His Test Record at the Kotla isn't that bad at all with two fifties coming from four of his innings here. The workload he has been under this year has been massive but he seems to chug out performances week-after-week. I honestly think India will bat once here and I think MS can rack up a big enough score to cover the 5-run headstart Carlton will have on him. - 4pts Player Performance: Devendra Bishoo Under 90 @ 5/6 [bet365] I don't think India will bat twice here I really don't. The pitch here at the Kotla has been re-laid and apparently has been typically low and dead since. The two domestic matches here have not produced a result this season and I think India could rack up 600+ in their first innings. Consequently, it spells trouble for the West Indian bowling attack. I don't think ten Indian wickets will fall and I don't see five of them being for Bishoo. The danger here I guess is that Bishoo can bat a bit. However, his talent will no doubt be negated here by some of the best players of spin the game has ever seen. Unders for me.
