  1. Right folks, exactly what it says on the tin. Starting bank of £300 which I made from the Fury fight yesterday so is in effect 'expendable' (I would definately not play around with this sort of money normally with a 'glory hunt'). The aim is to reach approx £2000 by 2am. I have done this before here on a smaller scale... http://forum.punterslounge.com/f19/bounce08s-one-day-only-glory-hunt-190-96-finished-118011/ Will be betting on football only, singles and doubles and in-play if I see anything of value. Will be looking to do this in around 4 bets (averaging odds of around 1.80). I will especially be looking at doubles of over 1.5 goals in various friendlies which tend to have more goals. Some may say it is foolish, stupid and simply illogical - I see it as an exciting Sunday for you all to follow with no risk to yourselves! All bets with bet365. First selection in the next hour or so... :hope

  2. Re: SPL - Scottish Premier Lucky 63s Wow, great start - you read those first day games well. I'll be joining you on your Celtic pick as I quite fancy that too. Best of luck for the remaining games. Even if it doesn't come in, I'm sure you'll have a return of some sort fairly soon.

  3. Re: €50 Bank - 100 bets @ 1.05 - Can this be done? Ofcourse it can be done. There are lots of people on here like Skittles who have done very well with consecutive low odds bets (over 300!). It's up to you what you want to bet on - its your money! Most people have sucess with laying correct scores in football at low odds on BetFair. Others try Over 0.5 goals in football matches which has a slightly bigger risk but still very low odds. Either way, you should get some way at least towards that target if disciplined and you don't get tempted with bigger prices. :hope

  4. Re: Friendlies - Over 1.5/2.5 doubles. Bet 1: FC Twente v Galatasaray - Over 1.5 Goals @ 1.22 NAC Breda v Sparta Rotterdam - Over 1.5 Goals @ 1.12 Double @ 1.38 :hope Stake £100 Return £137.50 Couple of other fixtures standout for today including Hibernians (Malta) v Sheff Utd and Benfica v Toulouse but I'm happy with my selections.

  5. New approach to this glory hunt for me. Starting bank of £100. All in each time. No target, no timescales - just for fun really. Will withdraw a certain amount/end the hunt when I feel like it (if I get far enough to make a choice like that!). I will only be betting on uk and internacional club friendlies. These matches tend to go over 2.5 goals and often have a lot more. I have been paper trailing a few ideas for the past week or so for friendlies that have been played and the trend has been either a UK non-league side against a UK league side and also the top division european sides playing other top division european sides have been the games with the most goals in them. All bets placed with William Hill. First one coming up shortly..

  6. Re: Copa America > Semi-Finals > 20/21 July

Yeah, it is a bit of a p*ss take. Just wonder if there becomes a bit of value on over 1.5 @ 1.50. This line is usually a lot lower, and all but the Mexico game has gone under two goals for Uruguay, and that really shouldn't of, with Uruguay hitting the woodwork twice, and missing a hatful of chances. Won't be taking it myself, but may be food for thought for somebody else.
It's worth pointing out. In any other situation involving Uruguay and any other opponent I would be lapping up odds of 1.50 for over 1.5 goals but this Copa America has been unpredictable to say the least with all the big guns underperforming and lots of low scoring draws. If this was any other occasion, friendly or even a World Cup game I would have bitten your hand off for 1.50 but on this occasion I think I will agree with you and leave it alone however tempting it may be. I might have a look at it in play depending on how the first 20 minutes or so goes. If it's still 0-0 after 20 minutes but Uruguay are dominating then I'll take it at medium stakes with higher odds of around 2.00.
  7. Re: The Value Banker Tips Great start! How are you putting the thought in to these? Purely on stats or current form? The over 2.5 goals market is a favourite of mine too. The Finnish, Dutch and Norweigian leagues are great for it. Looking forward to your next picks, will follow you on them. :hope

  8. Re: Very Short Odds Doubles Doing well, it's generally going to plan. The Copa America this year has been a real minefield with all the major sides underperforming and with not many goals scored. Keep going, you've only placed a few bets with this strategy but the idea is good. Why not have a looked at short priced over 2.5 goal markets? The current club friendlies are a great place to look as a lot of these games end up high scoring, especially with non-league sides playing league sides. Best of luck. :hope

  9. Re: Copa America Glory Hunt Copa America has been a minefield this year with the likes of Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay all underpeforming. Who would have seen Venezuela, Peru, Paraguay etc doing as well as they have? Lots of low scoring affairs. Best of luck with your next one, you had a bit of success.

  10. Re: Club friendlies 18 July 2011

Bray have been poor in their own league lately losing 5 of their last 6' date=' interestingly their last four matches have had 3+, Liverpool are likely to field a young side and normally we see goals in more youth games and in friendlies in general, so if anyone's having a bet here with bet365 then[b'] Over 3 Goals (AH) @ 2.00 could be the way to go.
I was about to post something similar. Liverpool's youth/reserve setup is strong. I expect the likes of Raheem Stirling to play (real talent for the future who scores bags of goals) and like you say, their reserve team is always involved in high scoring games. Their 3 reserve matches agaisnt Brentford, Everton and Man Utd reserves were 4-4, 1-4 and 2-2 respectively. Bray are inferior to any of these terms reserve sides so I'm expecting a high scoring game with a Liverpool XI win.
  11. Re: Newbie in desperate need of some strategy tips ...

Having some kind of strategy is a must if you want to be succesful on long term. The key to long term sucess is discipline. Define a bankroll at the begining of the month/year/season and stake max 5% of it on any bet. Bet singles only and stay calm after every bet. Analyse your bet before placing it and avoid outside influences. It's very important to keep a record of all of your bets and analyse it from time to time, learn from your own mistakes and experiences. Bet only if you think odds are in your favour, not for the sake of it. Having discipline is the most important thing and it's not that easy as it may sound. Always stick to your strategy however things are going :ok
Sound advice and a good post. :ok
  12. Re: CLUB FRIENDLIES 15 JULY 2011 I know this wasn't posted beforehand and is 'frowned upon' but just won my double of Bury-Everton and Dartford-Gillingham going over 2.5 goals. 0-4 and 2-2 at half time respectively :loon Good post Jase82 - I wouldn't have looked at the game if it hadn't have been for the info re Everton's squad. Even Yakubu has netted a goal.

  13. Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 14 July

Rabotnicki -2 (EH) @ 2.5 (Paddy Power) Rabotnicki, who finished fourth in the Macedonian league, face Juvenes/Dogana, who won the Coppa Tittano in San Marino. The main reason for this bet is that sides from San Marino are amateur and struggle in Europe, especially with fitness. If you take games in the last 6 years, when a team from San Marino are at home in the first leg in European games, the opposition has beaten this handicap 4 out of 7 times. Recently, even Valletta from Malta beat Tre Fioi (champions of San Marino) 0-3 in San Marino. Last year Rudar Pljevlja won there 0-3. I rate Rabotnicki as being stronger than both those two teams. Rabotnicki, unlike their opponents, have a lot of European experience. They normally get through quite a few rounds and last year even got as far as playing Liverpool, losing each leg 0-2. They have been in Europe every year for the last six years. In 2007-08, they were beaten very narrowly by Bolton. Last year they beat Lusitanos, a side from Andorra, 5-0 and 6-0 in the Europa league. I rate the San Marino league to be worse than the Andorran one, looking at results in Europe. Rabotnicki were fourth highest scorers in the Macedonian league last season. The Macedonian league is on its break at the moment, but Rabotnicki have already played two games in the first qualifying round of the Europa League, beating Estonian side Narva Trans 7-1 on aggregate. Juvenes/Dogana were only average in their own league, finishing fourth, which is effectively 8th as there are two equivalent leagues with a playoff to decide the winner. Large stakes for me, in my experience the bookies often price the handicaps wrong in games involving the minnows of European football.
    Excellent post. :clap
  14. Re: Copa America > 8th-9th July Brazil v Paraguay Brazil -1 @ 2.86 (Ladbrokes) With the likes of Uruguay and Argentina struggling to show off their real potential in the last two games, I think Brazil will want to come out of the blocks and make a statement about their tournament intentions. No matter who Brazil are playing, a -1 handicap at these odds has to be taken. I understand Brazil are not at their best and certainly aren't the best Brazil side there has been recently but against opposition such as Paraguay I could easily see a couple of goals in Brazil's favour.
