  1. Re: Top Goal-Scorer Question I'm in the same boat with Balotelli, put a few bob on at 100 not sure of the best strategy for profit. If I lay him at 2.7 he could still be top scorer without scoring with at least four others, so not sure how this works out? Laying him is a bit dodgy anyway, with him very confident with pens if this happens in the match. Spain very seldom concede many goals with the possession they tend to have in games. Any thoughts on the best strategy here?

  2. Re: Italy v Republic of Ireland June 18th

Same here. Max: £0.20 Min: £0.08 Anyone know if these offers are available in store? Naturally I'd imagine not, but when I was last in there I saw a massive sign saying "same prices in store as online".
Cant understand that.. I have emailed Paddy Power about this as I just recently put one on the other day Italy spain double at 7/2 the previous round. I dont normally do these enhanced doubles as their usually one a bit dodgy, but to be fair I have had no problem with stakes on any previous bets. If I get feedback from Paddy Power stating their is a 20 max bet wont be advertising company again.
  3. Re: Italy v Republic of Ireland June 18th

I fancy Italy to win this one comfortably. Ireland have been shocking in this tournament and with Trappatoni saying he will make very few changes to a side and still play in the same manner. I expect Di Natali will start for Italy who has played much better than Balotelli giving them a better chance of converting the chances they create. Spain will try to go out and beat Croatia I can't see them playing for a draw which is too risky. Italy & Spain Double at 2.092 BetVictor
Same double with Paddy Power 2/1 If you type in enhanced doubles you will get Italy Spain double
  4. Re: Greece v Russia June 16th Pathetic attitude from the Russians, possibly the worst display I have seen from a team.... Playing football at walking pace, allowing Greece to comfortably set their stall out for each 2mph attack from Russians. If you were informed before match had started that bookmakers have become aware of irregular betting activity on Greece, you would have no doubt in questioning the result. After 20mins you could easily see this match finishing 0-0... Any team with an attitude like that deserves to leave the competition, especially when a draw would most likely put them up against Germany (insanity)

  5. Re: Italy v Croatia - June 14

I will definitely be on Italy in this match. I'll have a write up later but odds of 2.25 are excellent for me' date=' I don't think Italy are that far off Germany and Spain in this tournament, whom would be priced at 1.80 or so in this matchup.[/quote'] Paddy Power offering 7/2 for Italy Spain double tonight. Spain surely will take 3pts v Ireland
  6. Re: Man City v Sunderland > March 31

This is a hard match to predict with Sunderland being a team who have only conceded more than 2 on 1 occasion, City obviously need to win this game firstly, then any goal difference would be a bonus. Wont be taking any handicaps on this match with Sunderland usually a tight unit. Going to go for City to win to nil 1.94 as the win is crucial here, and goal difference could be a factor. So would expect City to keep it tight even though they could be 4 up, they do have the best defence anyway conceding only 7 at home. City to win to nil 1.94 Betfair
A fcuking clean sheet (get a grip)

  8. Re: Blackburn v Man Utd > April 2 Cant be having Man Utd at 1.44 away from home, even though they have an impressive away record. Watched the match the other day against Fulham thought the match was dire, all the hype in the papers about Man Utd should eat into the goal difference with City. Fulham looked comfortable most of the match, even though it looked like they had no intentions of trying to score against Utd until very late in the game. Also for me the match looked like a friendly, cant seem to remember any tackles in the match. Blackburn for me at 9.8 at home is worth a punt, they will be going for points here unlike fulham the other day. I still feel Utd are vunerable at the back for teams who will have a go, and I can put Blackburn in that catagory with being at the wrong end of the table. Blackburn @ 9.8 betfair

  9. Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 8 March

Yes, ive always been a fan of De Gea ever since he was at Atletico Madrid and won the Europa league with them. Good to see him find his form again after a shakey mid season. Two other funny points in the match was the attempted chip by Bilbao that went wide. He musta been watching Messi yesterday. Also comedy when Ferguson's left hadn man tried to pass the substitution board over him to Phelan and accidently dropped it on his foot! It really hurt by the looks of Ferguson. What commentary did you watch? I see you're living in Perth. I was watching the Channel 5 one in the UK.
Channel 5.... Think commentator was just being polite to utd at the finish, one point they mentioned through the match which I would never had believed, utd only won one match at home in their european competitions this year, not checked back to see if thats correct. Looking at the group they had in champ League its even harder to believe.
  10. Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 8 March

Saw the whole game as part of my weekend preparations and I must say, the ingredients were perfect for a Bilbao win tonight and didnt do enough background research on my part, as the commentators kindly reminded me that this was the team with a Final against Barcelona who has also gotten a draw against Barcelona earlier this season at 2 - 2. Despite Ferguson promising and putting out a strong lineup, Bilbao didnt hold back at all and arguable started their strongest possible 11. Excellent value on the Bilbao side and even more well done to those who spotted it.
Thought the commentator at the finish was comical," a smash & grab by Athletic Bilbao". Bilbao alway's looked the better side throughout, man utd goalie man of the the match for me.
  11. Re: UEFA Champions League > Tuesday 6 March

Don't wanna start argue who is the better league (Serie A vs PL) or which team has better players' date=' because everybody see the things differently, but from the ''situational betting'' point of view, [b']Arsenal @ 2.16 is a must bet for me. When you have a team with 4-0 lead in the 1st leg playing on away game, you just can't expect them to play with 100% concentration. Players and coach of course will say that they will put their best effort and concetration and other bla bla bla press conference stuff, but in reality those players very well know that even if they will lose 0-3 they still will advance. And when you play with that kind of thing in your head you won't put your maximum effort in every situation on the field. Besides that Arsenal at home and away are two different teams... those who follow Premier League will only agree with me. Going against them when they play at home is simply not profitable this season. Besides that they very well know that they can past 5 goals against a top side (did it against Tottenham and Chelsea). Motivation and mood in the team is good. All in all this is pure ''situational bet''. P.S. Milan's injury list: Cassano, Gattuso, Merkel, Strasser, Seedorf, Boateng, Maxi Lopez, Nesta, Pato.... nobody of these players will play today.
Well written post.... I agree with the view its irrelevant which league's are better when you have a team 4 up, well done to all winners.

Bolton can take care of an average everton side that can't score any goals.. Well done.....a nice barney rubble, do you normally take a banker with an outsider ;)

  13. Re: England > Barclays Premier League > 2-4 January

I'm going to place a 'statistics' bet tonight on number of goals instead of 1x2: Everton goals How can you say a clean sheet for Utd might look a safe bet, but to avoid surprises, I think 1.5 should be very safe here. We just witnessed a blackburn team with many injuries score 3 at old trafford, yes I would agree that the scoreline was a shock, but I really dont think Man Utd are as good a team as previous just now. Really couldn't take odds on away at the moment.
  14. Re: England > Barclays Premier League > 2-4 January Looking at the match tonight Man City v Liverpool its hard to go against City at home, even though they just had a match the other day. Liverpool are a decent outfit not really collecting the points that should have been on the board. I would much rather take the 2.24 against Utd in a few days rather than the 2 against Liverpool. Just feel Liverpool are in a better place just now than Utd at the moment. Just for an interest in this one going for a correct score, as I feel it could be a tight one Man City 1-0 @ 8.2 betfair Man City 2-0 @ 10 betfair

  15. Re: England > Championship > 2-3 January

"Lambert was sent off when it was 0-0 so that could have been it." Up until then Southampton were the better side tbh. They missed some great chances in the 1st half,& from where I was they definately had the ball over the line, only for the goal not to be given. After Lambert was red-carded it was all Brighton. Sorry if I influenced anyone with my post, tipping Saints. I'll keep my mouth shut in future!
Bobbyhead you only gave your opinion, I followed because of the injury list to Brighton. I would still take the same bet tomorrow, so dont let result put you off from posting your thoughts. We cant win every bet :ok
  16. Re: England > Barclays Premier League > 2-4 January

Fulham vs Arsenal - Both Teams To Score @ 1.80 (Bet365:5pts) Fulham: Stockdale; Kelly, Senderos, Hangeland, Riise; Ruiz, Sidwell, Murphy, Dembele; Dempsey, Zamora. Arsenal: Szczesny, Djourou, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Coquelin, Song, Arteta, Ramsey, Walcott, Gervinho, Van Persie. Attacking line-up for Fulham with Zamora back in attack, supported by Dempsey, Ruis and Dembele. We are always liable to give up at least one goal on the road, and with Vermaelen now adding to our ridiculously long injury-list, I do expect us to have some trouble keeping Fulham out. Coquelin plays at left back after coming on vs QPR, he's a centre mid and inexperienced so that would be an area I'd be concerned about, plus we have had problems with Zamora on multiple occasions over the years at different clubs. Of course we will also attack and have goals in us. Senderos is a weak-link for me so I would be surprised if we failed to score at least once. BTTS is my pick. Tough game to call overall, horrendous scheduling by the FA really, both sides had tough games 2 days ago, Fulham a little tougher having to travel away to Norwich. I feel we may slip up, and any win we might get would be narrow and hard fought IMO. They won't bend over like they did for United a few weeks back anyway. GL!....:hope
Summed up well, especially last sentence.
  17. Re: England > Championship > 2-3 January

I don't like to tip my teams opponent's,especially versus our south coast rivals, but odds against for Southampton looks cracking value. The early 7/5 with Stan James has been snapped up,but 11/10 or 6/5 still looks generous imo. We are not playing well or with confidence, losing to bottom side Coventry last time out. That's four straight defeats now, without scoring. Before this sequence of defeats,we were extremely fortunate to grab all 3 points against Forest, with a very late goal, when we barely deserved a point. Southampton will be keen to make amends after their defeat to Bristol City,& will face a Brighton side missing loads of players out. Craig Noone suffered a hamstring injury against Coventry, whilst Lewis Dunk collected his 10th booking of the season and starts a two-match ban and midfielder Alan Navarro is also suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card. Romain Vincelot and Ashley Barnes are still banned for their red cards against Burnley before Xmas & Vicente Rodriguez (thigh), Inigo Calderon (knee), Marcos Painter (hamstring), Will Hoskins (hip), Gary Dicker (broken leg) and Tommy Elphick (Achilles) are all injured.
Good write up going to follow you on this one, dont normally have a flutter in this league, looks a fair few out for the home team so worth a go.
