It's quite simple Bowles.. Its a very long' date=' very narrow course, with devastating rough.. They are forced to take irons off tee's, and they really have to force the irons to get them up as far as possible.. When you are increasing the speed you hit the ball, the less control you have over it. There, in some cases, is 5 bloody yards between the fairway and the out of bounds.. I think a lot of the top players are playing this course brilliantly.[/quote'] sergio had a 10 on a par 4, 3 balls OB!! Poulter twice OB this round Mcilroy OB quite a few missing fairways. Yes some are playing the course well and hanging in there, others are not. Just cant get my head around players going OB when they have a fairway in front of them to hit. -

Re: Bowles' Windsor Monday nights diary will be following some of the windsor winners at Ascot this coming week. You sometimes get a decent price pop up from windsor form with the likes of Hannon, Stoute, Noseda, Haggas all using windsor on a regular basis. Will track them here.

Re: Handicaps similar to last week we have a tasty 20 runner 6f handicap to work out york 3.50 I'm sticking with the trends for this one & on Moviesta, Heavens Guest and left in MArys Daughter as a live outsider. Good luck whoever else is having a go at this one.

Re: Flat Racing - Friday 14th June My PL nag me horse 6.20 Goodwood, detail below from the nag me thread. Finished 2nd @ 28/1 at newbury last saturday night. 11/2 bets price today but looks made for this race STARWATCH 6yo Trained by J Bridger 8 wins from 51 races to date. Has to run on an undulating track for its best chances. All wins have come on unconventional tracks Epsom, Goodwood, Lingfield, Windsor. All wins at 7f or 1m, there is no point backing this to win over further, it must be when it runs over these distances. Ran up a 4 timer in 2011 when off a much lower mark. Once it gets a mark in the 70's, this horse could possibly win and will be a decent price. Favoured conditions - Good or G/soft, 7f/8f, Goodwood, Lingfield, Windsor or Epsom.

Re: US Open 13-16 Jun tournament effectively in chaos after yesterday, 2 breaks and only half the field completed. Anything can happen now as some players have to play up to 30 holes today if they can so will be starting really early. The course looks like it can eat you up with 1 wayward tee shot and the rough is fierce It will be a mental victory i feel for the winner. Good to see a brit heading it up at -4 although still got the last 5 to play. Plenty of birdies on the scorecards but loads of bogeys also, Poulter only had 1 par in the first 7 holes i think yesterday!

Re: Flat Racing ~ Thursday 13th June 8.50 Haydock After looking at this race, decided it would be won by a horse coming down in the weights as a few of these havent won off these higher marks. BEAU MISTRAL has better form on a softer surface and won off OR79 so runs off a 7lb lower mark here and can return to form. Wears a visor for the 1st time which is interesting as well so maybe just needs to keep a straighter line. Ran here last season off a mark of OR83 and ran well to finish 3rd. 14/1 Bet365

Listening to the radio yesterday brought back memories especially reference point - what a horse that was I do hope they honour Henry in some fitting way, a statue at ascot would go down well
