Ribbons has a 100% record in her first 3 races, all over a mile, including winning here back in May. Last time out she won at Newmarket, beating Zeyran by a neck, she was challenged late on by the runner up but she stuck to her task gamely and stayed on well at the finish to win. It’s Ribbon’s first attempt at trying the 1m 1f trip today, but her previous races suggest she will handle the step up without any problem. She has been raised 7lb for her win at Newmarket but is open to further improvement. Hayley Turner has previously ridden the horse on all 3 occasions but as she is out injured, James Doyle takes the ride and is a positive booking. 20:35 Sandown 1m 6f Class 4 Hersham Handicap Selection: Alwilda 9/4 PaddyPower Sir Mark Prescott seems to be firing in the winners as of late, and he can add another to his tally with Alwilda in the finale on Sandown’s card. The 3-year-old filly has had 5 runs to date, with 4 of those coming on the All Weather surface. She only has one win to her name, that win coming over a mile at Southwell last year, but she has shaped as though she will appreciate further in distance after 2 runs this year. The first coming over 1m 3f at Kempton when she was held up towards the rear of the field and got going too late but stayed on strongly to take 4th. Alwilda’s second appearance this year again came on the all weather, this time at Wolverhampton, and she was upped in trip to 1m 4f. This time round she was more prominent and raced midfield, however in a similar scenario the leaders skipped clear and she stayed on towards the finish. 1m 6f is being tried for the first time here and that should help my selection step up on her latest performances and get her head in front. Nateeja looks like the biggest danger after she won well at Wolverhampton over 1m 5f 194y last time out, however that was in Class 6 company and she takes the step up to Class 4 company here. Although she is open to improvement she is up 10lb for that victory at Wolverhampton and she may find this race looks a tough assignment.

Brown Panther was impressive on step up to 2m and pleased for Kingscote also who is maturing into a good jockey.

Re: Bowles' Windsor Monday nights diary poor again last week with no winners -5pts Onto tonight, 6.30 Gentle Breeze - can put up a fight to the hannon horse. Was unlucky not to break its duck LTO at Lingfield and Oriel doesnt look straight forward although ran in the Queen Mary was well beaten. 3/1 approx 7.00 Soaring spirits - drops down the handicap and has been running well on the polytrack so hoping it will transfer to turf as this race isnt very good and possibly only the favourite to hold off this time. 7.30 Night trade - havent found many outsiders to back this season here but Night Trade could spring a surprise under Phillip Prince claiming 5lbs. Won at Goodwood earlier in the season off this mark and often wins this time of year. Looks a big price at 25's 8.00 Significant move - been given another opportunity to win here again after 2 victories as only handed a 3lb rise. all 1pt win singles

Re: British Open~18th-21st July good shout BH, pretty please i backed Stenson, Poulter & Westwood who all finished in 1st 5. Ok Stenson i only backed on Sat morning but was clearly in my thoughts when i posted my final bets. I thought Westwood just didnt play well enough to win today, a 75 isn't good enough on a final day. He made those errors early on and never had many chances afterwards to get back the shots. Stenson was the nearly man, he missed so many putts today and could have won this, as he played possibly the best tee to green, he was always in the middle of the fairway on every hole. Mickelsons round was immense though and he didnt have the pressure of playing in the final 3 pairings. I do like lefty so pleased for the fella. The trends still pointed towards his win albeit he was the 1st back to back to winner of the scottish open and the OPen.
