  1. Re: Boxing tonight: Darchinayan Vs. Arce Joe Lauzon to bt. Jeremy Stephens - Stephens is a last minute-ish replacement for teammate Hermes Franca, he is coming off of a brutal KO win and has undoubted power but Lauzon should be able to get a submission or ground out a decision on the mat. Lauzon had a notable win over legend Jens Pulver, and as a result was pushed in too early against Kenny Florian, ending in a loss. He should reboud from this against Stephens, he has a much broader skillset and should look to take it down early. Cain Valesquez to bt. Denis Stojnic - Velasquez heavy favourite should be too much for newcomer Stojnic who is fighting in the UFC for the 1st time. Has not had much experience and the first time in the cage poses problems for even the best fighters. Velasquez, whilst inexperienced, is undefeated with a 3-0 record in the UFC. He is a promising young heavyweight and should roll over Stojnic easily here. Anthony Johnson to bt. Luigi Fioravanti - Johnson should simply use his considerable strength and size advantage in this fight, keeping Fioravanti at the end of his jab and kicks and avoiding a takedown with his superior wrestling. Can't see Fioravanti doing enough to win 3 rounds and a KO is unlikely. Treble pays around 2.40 depending on where you go. ..Treble comes in. 2nd Rd Submission for Lauzon, 2nd Round TKO for Cain and 1st Rd KO for Johnson. :ok

  2. Re: Boxing tonight: Darchinayan Vs. Arce There's a UFC on at the same time... maybe the wrong place for it but I'll post my little double anyway... Joe Lauzon to bt. Interesting bit from BadLeftHook.com .. Vic Darchinyan is the favorite over Jorge Arce, but the book doesn't have him as quite the overwhelming choice that most boxing fans and writers do. Conventional wisdom says Darchinyan eventually hammers Arce down, but conventional wisdom also said Darchinyan would be dominated by Cristian Mijares. Vic is a -400 favorite, with Arce as a +300 underdog. I really think Arce is a bit underestimated in this fight. I'm not going to call the upset like I did with Vic over Mijares, but I really don't think this will be quite the landslide it's being made out to be by most. Arce has a much bigger frame than does Darchinyan, and even though most think Arce is on the downside of his career after so many wars, and he's absolutely had trouble with southpaws of late, I think he presents some challenges for Vic. The last time we saw Darchinyan face a guy that can punch, he got his head knocked off. That's not to say Arce has the speed of Nonito Donaire, but he's quicker than Vic, even now. Still, Darchinyan at -400 is a pretty solid bet.

  3. Re: Darts: PDC World Championship Hopefully your deep insight will continue as the tournament approaches, rossom! Anyway.. there was alot of interest in Anastasia when the Grand Slam was on, she is 2/1 to beat Remco van Eijden but I can't find much info on him, does anyone know anything about him?.. if he is unknown as I think then as she pushed Mardle, Part and McDine earlier in the year she might be worth a bet.

  4. Re: Hatton V Mallignagi Paul, to be fair to Hatton he had just tasted defeat for the 1st time and this probably affected him in some ways. Saying this, I don't think he was gunshy and although he took punishment he showed he can still take a punch. Not that this should be a problem against the light punching Malignaggi. I think it's a tough one to call but I can't see Hatton being knocked out. Malignaggi has few KOs on his record (2 in last 23 fights), but has shown a pretty good chin, eg against Cotto when he was cut to sh*t and survived being dropped. He can obviously go the distance. If you are thinking of backing Malignaggi then 4.4 @ Betfair on him on points looks a good price. For what its worth, Colin Hart agrees..!.. “He boasts about the huge quantities of alcohol he consumes between fights, plus the junk food he eats. It means he blows up 40 to 50 pounds over his fighting weight whether it’s at 140 or 147 pounds. At his age, you can’t keep that lifestyle and get away with it. He is an old 30, which is why I believe Malignaggi will beat him on decision. He will be too young, too fit, and too fast for Hatton.” We've heard all of this before though, and the British are notoriously famous for bashing their most successful sportsmen (Calzaghe) and quick to predict their downfall. Hatton is quality, you don't beat Kosta Tsyzu, Collazo, Castillo et al by being average. Malignaggi doesn't have any real 'big name' wins on his record like Ricky does, he hasn't been tested much against top class opponents, bar the bruising by Cotto. Also, by all accounts he had a tough time with Ngoudjo in Jan and in his 2nd bout with N'dou he was seriously troubled but ended up with a split decision. (I don't buy that hair shite either because Ndou won more rounds when Malignaggi could see!) Hatton did show signs of wear and tear in his last fight but his history proves his class and puts me off backing Malignaggi. Probably won't have a bet but Malignaggi on points seems a decent option at that price for those that think he'll win.

  5. Re: Grand Slam Of Darts:Starts 15th Nov ITV4 Anyone see past a Jenkins (Andy) and Tabern double? Nixon has only won one leg in his two games, he is out and although Jenkins is through he should still want to do enough to win this game and make it 3/3 after beating Taylor last night. Tabern has played pretty well despite losing yesterday and needs to win tonight, again against a man who is playing for nothing. Double pays around EVS.

  6. Re: Haye vs Barrett - Sat 15th November - Boxing Yeah it has not been repeated to my knowledge. It was quickly cut when he said that shit about the contracts not being signed yet. I've not heard or read anything about it since though so maybe he was talking out of his arse. Haye did come on afterwards and say Barrett was moaning about not taking the red ones out of his MnMs so maybe he was talking rubbish!

  7. Re: Haye vs Barrett - Sat 15th November - Boxing Anyone just see the live press conference on (briefly) Setanta News? Barrett started swearing profusely (it's 1pm) and revealed there hasn't been a contract officially signed! He was moaning about the 'sh*tty' hotels and lack of money they have been giving him and it apparently adamant about a rematch clause in the contract. I take it Setanta had heard enough at this point and pulled it off the air. Anyone know what else was said? Barrett was very angry to say the least. It was just getting interesting..

  8. Re: Boxing: Nov 8/9 I'm gonna take Calzaghe by Decision or Tech Decision @ EVS with 365. Can't see a knockout either and I think Joe will outpunch and outbox Jones, it was hard to look good against Hopkins and he still won, I think after winning that fight he will be able to overcome Jones who I think will be less of a problem. In the battle of the Luton Town fans I am now increasing the line to over/under 9am as to when this fecking fight will start..
