Carruthers ran and jumped his rivals ragged in the Sodexo Reynoldstown Chase at Ascot. Mark Bradstock's charge, owned among others by Lord Oaksey, produced an exhibition round of fencing and had Breedsbreeze comfortably beaten when that rival fell at the last. This left the weary Ballyfitz to claim the forecast spot, a distance behind the runaway winner. "I haven't got many good horses to ride but I feel this one is very good," winning jockey Mattie Batcherlor told BBC 1. "The ground is hard work out there but he made it look easy." Boylesports were very taken by the winning performance and make Carruthers their 5/1 favourite (from 16/1) for the RSA Chase at Cheltenham. Sky Bet halved Carruthers in place to 8/1 and eased Breedsbreeze out to 20/1 (from 12s) for the Cheltenham feature. :DRoyal & SunAlliance Chase Wednesday, 11 March 2009 2:40 Carruthers 9-2 JointFavorite for the Albert Bartlett Novices´ Hurdle Grade 1 (Registered as The Spa Novices´ Hurdle) last year. Finished 11 of 18 by 57 lengths. He defeated the winner by 13 lengths two months earlier. Racing Post Analysis of the race said: "..did not get much peace in front and was soon done with when taken on running down to the penultimate flight." What A Friend is 8-1 for the RSA whom Carruthers lost to by 2L on his reappearance/chase debut last October. He defeated What A Fried by a length on his hurdle debut in Nov07. Current favorite for the race is 6-1 (Betfred) Breedzbreeze. I think he's still under the radar because he's not found a race to go into for a while. The two finished 2nd lto for Warsaw's debut here so I think they will improve. 3:50 Military Power 0.50 e/w @ 10-1, dropped in class from a Grade 3 lto. 7/9 beaten 20 lengths that day but CD form is for 2nd by 1/2 length to Brave Tin Soldier and they were 5 3/4 lengths clear of 3rd on New Years day. 4:25 Familiar Territory 1pt win @ 6-4, ex-Godolphin and running for Bin Suroor and Dettori today. Record at CD is 1st and 2nd with the 2nd being a defeat by Curlin. Murtagh and De Kock's Art Of War for an e/w at 5-1, reasoning in the next race. 4:55 Indiscutible 0.25 e/w @ 25-1, Unbeaten in two 6f runs at Chile last year. Murtagh takes the mount for the first time. Murtagh and De Kock have a form of 03422 going into today. Montmorency 0.25 e/w @ 50-1 Form is 321 from Maidens in Britain for Godolphin. Had a Dewhurst entry but did not race there. 5:30 Taqseem 0.50 e/w @ 100-1, trainer and jockey combo'd for a win at 16-1 for the same owner of Taqseem, Hamdan Al Maktoum. 6:05 UAE 2000 GUINEAS 0.20pt Godolphin Trifecta, 1.20pts total. With the Murtagh and De Kock form an e/w @ 16-1 for Blues And Rock is also a bet, 0.50. 6:40 Kirklees, 1pt win @ 5-2 3 wins from 5 with Dettori on board, 3 out of 4 in 10f contests.

T J Murphy's only ride of the day too :ok5:00 - Secret Stash E/W @ 8/1 Finished a somewhat distant 5th on debut on heavy ground at Newbury, but ran well in snatches. Bound to improve for that run and getting weight from most of the principals, as long as there is some improvement, it could be enough to be in the frame as we know the animal will handle the ground fine. -
Re: Chepstow 12/2 CHEPSTOW 3:20 Bring Me Sunshine (IRE) Winner of this event last year. Raced in a Grade 3 HcCh at Cheltenham lto; 7/13 by 40 lengths on Heavy Ground. He finished better than Turko (8th), Mister McGoldrick, Reveillez, Stan, Lidjo De Rouge, and Private Be were all pulled-up. I think his effort was solid enough to be considered here. He made headway at 4 out and was in touch at the next before blundering and weakening at 2 out. It was a 2m5f race so this shorter trip looks ideal. Tom Scudamore is booked and the two once raced together in a Listed Hurdle here in '07; 7/14 by 13L. 33-1 just looks like a good price. 1pt ew @ 33-1 SkyBet

Wondersobright Should relish these conditions and does have a 50% strike rate to boost over G&D and is now back down to the same weight when winning at this track in April last year. Silistra Is another with a chance and has placed round here a couple of years back over the same conditions, Does have to cope with a couple of lbs rise but could be still a danger at a nice price. Advice Back Anna Panna, Wondersobright & Silistra E/W. -

A P McCoy is booked and he has a 44% strike rate this season for Best. Hello Moscow has questions to answer wether the ground will suit. His only run on Soft came with McCoy on board so I think he will handle it well. They finished 3rd of 12 by 21 lengths on soft for his British debut last year. 10pts WS @ 4-1 Bet365 BOG

Blue Teal showed signs of being a winner from previous runs and booking of A P McCoy suggests they mean business. He's been on board the last three. 2460 with w/o Fairley on board. Trainer Mark Johnston have Southwell for his best course for most wins this season. 7 wins from 19. 2 - 11 @ Great Leighs 5 - 17 @ Kempton 9 - 47 @ Lingfield 6 - 29 @ Wolverhampton Robby Bobby's been on a good run since stepped up to 10+ furlongs, form reads 131. Won a Class 2 12f Handicap at Lingfiel lto. Only defeat from the last three is the 10f race at Great Leighs. Course and Distance win on 23Dec08 will come in handy for today. He is the only runner in this field to have course experience. Kanditate finished last on his last three runs 7, 6, 6. 6/6 and 5/6 from his last two 11f runs. The early lead should be between him and Robby Bobby. Advantage between the two goes to RObby Bobby because he's in better form and carries 9lb less. Formation and Best Propect makes their course debut. Both like to be held up and that might give them problems getting to Robby Bobby for the line.
