  1. Re: MLB 2015 Season - Match Betting Just pressed the flecking back button on my phone by accident and lost everything, so here's my last bet for the night without any reasoning other than I like the match ups - either pitching wise or hitting wise. Or both! Cardinals, Blue Jays, Padres - 3pt ml treble @ 4.25 Bet365 Sent from my GT-I9300 using PL Forum

  2. Re: LEOPOLDS $400 BASEBALL IS BACK PLAY! Hi Leopold, reasoning to explain why you're taking the bet is preferred, though not absolutely essential. What is required though is stake (confidence in points, not currency), plus the bookmaker you're placing the bet with and the odds you're taking. :ok We've also got a designated thread for the tips to be put in. So for future tips you wish to post, put them in this thread..... http://forum.punterslounge.com/threads/155401-MLB-Outright-Betting-2015-Season Good luck :cheers

  3. Re: NBA Regular Season matches 2014/15 Wanted to bring my record up to date, and it brought back lovely memories of the Clippers game that sent me positively :cry hardly having the ball in the last 104 seconds as they allowed Utah to grab FIVE offensive boards in 90 seconds, then Paul missed a 3 that would have won the bet and Griffin missed a 2ft layup that would have pushed the bet. Whinge over. Congrats to Dan for keeping the thread going and showing some good personal profit :ok Hopefully I can make a dent in the loss in these end season games where some teams are resting players, and the playoffs :hope The Pelicans have brought my regular season wins bet on them in, but I need the Mavs to win out and my understanding is tonight's team is going be to a reserve team so I'll be lucky there. The Mavs have locked up the #7 seed so my Conference and title anteposts are still running at least, whilst the Pelicans are battling the Thunder for the #8 seed. Westbrook got hit with his 16th T of the season last night which made the Pel's chances look very good indeed - Westbrook was due to miss tonight's clash with the Blazers, and already without KD that would have proved tough. A loss for Thunder and a win for the Pels against the TWolves would have been enough for NOLA to lock up the final seed as they hold the tiebreaker over OKC. However the NBA have reversed Westbrook's tech and he now can play v Portland tonight, so it's looking like the Pels will have to beat both the TWolves tonight and then the Spurs in their final game. Unlikely! 73-97-1 Staked 860.65pts Returns 802.29pts P/L ... -58.36pts

  4. Re: MLB 2015 Season - Match Betting Mets (-1.5) to bt Phillies - 3pts @ 11/8 Paddy I did hope that Paddy would offer one of their daily doubles for a Mets bat to homer with Mets winning, and would have taken any one of Granderson, Murphy or Duda. Unfortunately their offering is 8+Ks for DeGrom. Anyway, I'm backing DeGrom again, with good reason I feel. His 2 starts against the Phillies last season yielded a 1-0 record, with a 2.03 ERA. He struck out 16 in 13.1I and walked 4 with a WHIP of 0.82. Opposing him is Aaron Harang, and he will be the first pitcher to have to deal with the new confines of the Citi Field. This is the kind of matchup the hierarchy will have had in mind when the shortened right field - an inconsistent rhp up against lefty hitters like the 3 I mentioned at the beginning of the paragraph - so hopefully they can take advantage and show it was a good decision.

  5. Re: MLB 2015 Season - Match Betting Tigers/Pirates - Over 7 runs - 6pts @ 1.83 Boylesports Detroit travel to Pittsburgh for an inter-league series, and so lose their DH spot. They're very unlikely to play VMart behind the plate just 2 months out of knee surgery, so I'm looking at them giving up a bit on defense and putting him at 1B, as they did for 7 of their 10 inter-league games last season, and sliding Miggy over to 3B. That will maintain their offensive potential, but also sacrifices some defensively. Sanchez had a perfect introduction to the season, tossing 6.2I of no-run ball against the Twins, whilst Cole was average against the Reds. Both face better offenses this evening, and the line loooks a little too low to me

  6. New Friday Paddy tourney (€11) 8:30pm The Hundy Max starts this Friday. There's likely not going to be any added value (100 runners max with €1k Gtd) so not one for the diary, BUT for this Friday only (18th April) you can buy in for just 200 Power Points :ok

Poor play calling, and poor officiating, deep in the latter innings proved highly costly for us in Oakland
    Nationals/Phillies - Under 6.5 runs Tigers (ml to bt Indians) 4pt double @ 3.49 Bet365
    Kershaw 9 Ks & Dodgers to bt Dbacks - 4pts @ 2.88 Paddy
Don't be mystified by Kershaw's less than stellar start to the season... I can explain!! I drafted him in my fantasy team - I've cursed him!! 6-18-0 Staked 77pts Returned 61.21pts P/L -15.79pts Tigers Over 8.5 Hits v Indians - 6pts @ 1.83 Bet365 TJ House may not allow many HRs due to his hig % groundball rate (over 60), but he does allow hits and runners, and the Tigers have generated offense so far this season - 14, 18, 10, 15, 10 are their hit totals so far this season - and I'd fully expect them to keep that double figure run up against House tonight. Marlins (-1.5) to bt Rays - 4pts @ 2.45 Bet365 I'll probably oppose Karns until he shows a modicum of getting things together. He was tagged for 6 ERs in 5.2 inns and issued 4 walks on his first start of the season - a defeat to the Orioles. Meanwhile Alvarez was hit with the L in a 1-2 defeat to Atlanta, but pitched 7 strong innings and gave no free walks to the Braves. White Sox (-1.5) to bt Twins - 4pts @ 2.55 White Sox (-2.5) to bt Twins - 2pts @ 3.65 The White Sox showed some heart last night, having started 0-4, when they fell behind to a quick 0-4 hole before recovering and coming away with their first W of the season. With that monkey off their back, and Chris Sale back fit (fit enough for 90-95 pitches anyway) I'm looking at this game as the perfect opportunity for the Southsiders to build on their win and use their elite pitcher as a solid foundation for a comfortable win. Nationals (ml), Mariners (ml) & Red Sox (ml) - 2pt treble @ 4.73 Bet365 Really just trying to use my expected wins for aces Scherzer and Hernandez to boost the price for Red Sox to complete the sweep at Mankee Stadium in the late game tonight. Tanaka's opening day performance done nothing to dispel the worries over his chances to return to anything resembling his pre-injury form, having not went under the knife to sort it. One of Tanaka's 2 games back post-injury break last season was against the Red Sox, and he didn't last 2 innings, getting tagged 5 ERs, 7 hits, and issuing 2 walks. I'm no Buchholz fan, but he was switched on on Opening Day, and this NYY offense is nowhere near as intimidating as has been the case in the past. A shutout performance against the Phillies is tough to trust going forward, but he can stifle a substandard NYY side to start the season 2-0 before things get tougher I'll leave the Cubbies to Dan ;)
  9. Re: MLB 2015 Season - Match Betting Last one for tonight Kershaw 9 Ks & Dodgers to bt Dbacks - 4pts @ 2.88 Paddy Kershaw reach the 9 mark on Opening Day in a game where he didn't have his best stuff, giving up 3 ERs, 6 hits and 2 walks through 6 innings. With the fanfare of opening day out the way, the appearance under his belt, and being on the other side of a necessary dental procedure, it's reasonable to expect him to be that bit better tonight. That should see him go maybe as deep as 7 innings before turning it over to the pen, which would give him increased chance of reaching the 9 x K mark.

1 pts St Louis Cardinals to beat Cincinnati Reds 2-1 21.00 1 pts Cincinnati Reds to beat St Louis Cardinals 2-1 15.00 4 pts Total runs Under 6.5 2.00 Skybet Bkth starters Cueto and Wacha have good records against their opponents and it is a reasonable assumption to expect this to be a tight low scoring affair when its handed over to the respective pens late in the game. The main eliance is on Wacha being back to health and performing as I dont think st louis has the leagues most dynamic offense
    Damned unlucky Dan!! :clap
  11. Re: MLB 2015 Season - Match Betting Nationals/Phillies - Under 6.5 runs Tigers (ml to bt Indians) 4pt double @ 3.49 Bet365 Fister and Hamels can dominate with strong performances in this clash. The Nats so far, with their injuries, don't have anywhere approaching the offense that the Red Sox, who hurt Hamels on Opening Day, did. Whilst the Tigers' offense has been clicking so far, and their ability to put runs on the board can prove the difference in a clash of aces

  13. Re: MLB 2015 Season - Match Betting Royals/Angels - Extra Innings YES - 1pt @ 8.00 Ladbrokes Two sides who have begun the season well - Royals swept the White Sox whilst the Angels took 2 of the 3 from the Mariners, only failing to King Felix in the opener. Two sides who are fielding pitchers with incredibly similar performances last season - Royals' Vargas compiling a 3.71 ERA, whilst Angels' Santiago put together a 3.75 ERA. Two sides who met twice in this ballpark during the ALDS in October and both meetings went to extra innings. Couple later ones I wanted to be on, but ultimately think the lines are spot on so will be sensible and save myself :eyes

Blue Jays (ml) to bt Orioles 5pts @ 1.95 Bet365
Joe Mauer to hit HR and Twins to bt White Sox - 1pt @ 12/1 Troy Tulowitzki to hit HR and Rockies to bt Cubs - 1pt @ 9/1
Twins and Rockies both won, and both Mauer and Tulo contributed RBIs. Neither managed to find the long shot though. 5-14-0 Staked 56pts Returned 47.25pts P/L -8.75pts Pirates/Brewers - Over 8.5 runs - 4pts @ 2.15 Bet365 It looks like a good recipe for runs when the ingredients include a pair of pitchers against whom batters on the other teams have good records. In particular, McCutcheon has 4 HRs in just 14 ABs against Fiers, whilst on the opposite side Lucroy has had little trouble getting on base when facing Jeff Locke - reaching base 10 times in 17 ABs.
  15. Re: MLB 2015 Season - Match Betting

    Twins/Tigers - no Home Run - 2pts @ 3/1 Bet365 White Sox (ml) to bt Royals - 4.5pts @ 2.25 Boylesports White Sox (-2.5) to bt Royals - 1.5pts @ 4.10 Bet365
4-12-0 Staked 49pts Returned 37.50pts P/L -11.50pts Taking 2 of the Daily Doubles Dan discovered on Paddy... Joe Mauer to hit HR and Twins to bt White Sox - 1pt @ 12/1 Troy Tulowitzki to hit HR and Rockies to bt Cubs - 1pt @ 9/1 Noesi is pitching for the Sox and he has a penchant for leaving them high - he gave up the most HRs of any AL pitcher last year. Mauer has at least 1 HR at US Cellular Field in 4 of the last 6 seasons. Having Tulo fit is a major boone for the Rockies' offensive hopes this season, and back in the Colorado air in a game I expect the home side to win, 9/1 for him to go long seems a very good price.
  16. Re: MLB 2015 Season - Match Betting So many I like tonight, I'm currently working on cutting them down and taking it easy this early. I do want to take the Blue Jays however, only just noticed they're starting at 8:05 UK time, I'd assume it was US time Blue Jays (ml) to bt Orioles 5pts @ 1.95 Bet365 Quickly, Norris had a very poor spring, though spring baseball isn't to be relied upon, he needs to bounce back quickly if he's going to get paid at the end of this contract year. He dishes up HRs though, and this Blue Jays offense has the players to capitalise on any opportunities he leaves high. Baltimore lost some important pieces in the off-season, and I think Toronto should be favourites for this match-up, not slight dogs

  17. Re: MLB 2015 Season - Match Betting Twins/Tigers - no Home Run - 2pts @ 3/1 Bet365 I think the 3/1 for there being no home run in this match is a good value price. Whilst of course the likelihood is there will be somebody go long, that's factored into the price. On the mounds are Greene for the Tigers, he pitched here for the Yankees last year and had an excellent outing going 7 innings for just 2 ERs, and Gibson for the Twins - his ERA of almost 4.5 through 31 starts is nothing to write home about, BUT he is a massively ground ball pitcher (ranked 7th amongst qualifying pitchers last year) and gave up only 12 HRs through over 170 innings pitched. White Sox (ml) to bt Royals - 4.5pts @ 2.25 Boylesports White Sox (-2.5) to bt Royals - 1.5pts @ 4.10 Bet365 John Danks is on the hill for the White Sox as they look to rescue something from this opening series, and whilst his career stats are distinctly average at best (72-85, 4.28 ERA), one ground he has always pitched well is Kauffman Stadium, home of the Royals. In 10 starts there he has a 4-0 record with an ERA of 1.73. Opposing him will be Edinson Volquez on his first appearance in a Royals shirt. Last season marked the first time since 2008 he had a somewhere approaching decent season, and 2013 in particular was one to forget. He's now left Pittsburgh, and joined the Royals where it remains to be seen if he can replicate the record he had with the Pirates' coaching staff. At the prices, given Danks' record in this ballpark, he's seeing my money for sure

  18. Re: MLB 2015 Season - Match Betting

Adding three more, all 1 point stakes: CLE Indians (Carrasco) at Houston (1.92 betvic) - Carrasco is unpredictable but had a good record v Houston last year CHI White Sox (Quintana) at KC Royals (2.15 betvic) - Quintana is reliable if not spectacular and could provide a platform for dogs Chicago to beat the odds against a team which aren't big hitters. SD Padres (Hellickson) v SF Giants (1.8 slybet) - Price bit shorter than hoped for but SF have a few injuries to key men
Hey Vila, these were last night's match-ups buddy :ok gl with your White Sox and Mets bets :hope

  20. Re: MLB 2015 Season - Match Betting Red Sox (-1.5) to bt Phillies 5pts @ 2.10 Red Sox (-3.5) to bt Phillies 2pts @ 4.25 The Red Sox hurt Phillies ace Cole Hamels on Sunday night, and look to dish out the same sort of punishment to a pitcher in Harang who isn't in the same league as Hamels. On the mound for Boston is Rick Porcello, who I actually expect more of than opening day starter Clay Buchholz this season. If my expectations are to be realised then he needs to have a strong outing against a feeble Phillies offense Mets (ml) to bt Nationals 4pts @ 2.15 Mets (-1.5) to bt Nationals 1.5pts @ 3.05 I
