Re: PL_Crewman | Sports-Punter Specialist Leicester 1:50 Portland Bill Has an ecxellent hurdle form with jockey Paddy Brennan, 6-1-3-2, and they conitnued that with a win LTO on Portland Bill's second chase start. A 10th of 19 effort at Chelteham was ran before the win but Brennan was no on board. Trainer R H Alner has 6 wins from 21 and Jacob has 4 wins from 9 chasers the 5 seasons here. The last trainer/jockey combo was good for a win over the same distance on Soft ground at Exeter, Macmar 25-1. 10pts win @ 11-4 Leicester 1:50 Rimsky Jockey Paddy Brennan had a win for the same distance of 2m7f110y at Taunton yesterday to bring his last 4 chase starts to 4-2-3-1. Brennan has 12 wins from 44 novice chasers this season. Trainer N A Twiston-Davies has 12 wins from 45 novice chasers this season. The last Non-Handicap or Graded Novice Chase for either trainer or jockey was Beat The Boys 8 days ago, they were a trainer/jockey combo for that win. Rimsky has plenty of abilities with him being a Grade 2 winner and having been raced at Cheltenham four times - 10-6-6-2. His last three are the only chase starts but already doing well doing it - 2-5-1. 5pts ew @ 9-2 Bet365 BOG Leicester 2:50 Bormo Should handle the soft ground conisdering his only hurdle run at France being on Soft, beaten 5 lengths for 2nd of 8 as 3yo last year. That was followed up with a 4th of 9 on his British debut in a Class 2 Juvenile Hurdle at Huntingdon on Good ground. I think he's one to consider to take this event with a return to soft ground and has the lowest weight at 10-7, 10-12 is closest and 11-11 is topweight. Trainer combo of A King and Robert Thornton has two wins from the last three. Both wins in Novice race and second place in a Maiden event. King has 5 wins from 24 and Thornton 5 from 19 hurdlers the past 5 seasons here. 5pts ew @ 5-1 Bet365 BOG Sedgefield 1:00 Overbranch Progessed well since started hurdling in August last year with the last three being 1-3-1. Enjoyed the heavy ground LTO at Leicester for a 3/4 length victory. Only other heavy start was her career debut, bumper (6th of 12), and been raced on Good or Good to Firm since. Finished third over course and distance on Good ground two in November that had Thehonourablelady (1st) and Blast The Past (2nd) in front by 3.75 lengths. 10pts win @ 13-8 Bet365 BOG Sedgefield 2:30 Stoneriggs Merc Had to settle for second place the last two starts but improved from a 4 length defeat into a short head. Winless from 7 starts at the course but today is the best shape he's ever in entering an event here so far. His chase form of two second place from 5 starts is better than his hurdling form of zero places from 6 starts. Trainer Mrs E Slack have sent two winners from the last three starters with the non winner being placed in second. 10pts win @ 5-2 Bet365 BOG Sedgefield 3:00 Tomillielou Course and Distance winner on Good ground - LTO, Boxing Day. Has two starts on Heavy for 8th of 12 and 3rd of 15. The latter being a 3m1.5f and perhaps found the 2m1f too sharp. The form from 2007 is finished at 6-5-3-2-8-1 with the last three being all career runs over fences. With those efforts of 3-2-1 from 3 of the last 4 with a course, distance, and heavy ground experience within them should have this able to handle what the rivals have to offer. 10pts win @ 4-1 Totesport Sedgefield 3:30 Longdale Been off the track for 276 days. Has some good efforts on soft ground, one of two wins came from there and 6 of 13 starts have been on soft ground. Today is going to be heavy and he raced once on heavy ground only to fall 3 out. This course is also where Lawson is most experienced having 8 of 12 career all weather wins here. Handicap races is where 5 of 12 all weather wins have been from, two with 2yo's and three with 4yo+. Nabra does not have much to offer from her experience but the jockey on board has many settings where he has found the most success. The price offered is high enough to keep the stakes low for a large profit. 2pts ew @ 33-1 Bet365 BOG Southwell 1:40 Copperbottomed Only runner of the day for trainer J R Boyle. Boyle has 4 wins from 6 runners this year, including 3 wins from 3 at this course. Pat Cosgrave has 4 wins at the course from 6 attemps - 3 trained by Boyle. Copperbottomed has no experience at the course but did show a form of 1-2-2- from the last 4 runs - all at Wolverhampton. Also, two of the four Boyle winners was on their first try at the course - Hucking Heat (2-1F) and Home (4-11F). 10pts win @ 9-4 Bet365 BOG Southwell 2:10 Guadaloup Finished 4th (20-1) 5 days ago after being off since August 22, 2007. He had a form of 9-11-6-10-9 from July to August on his return and I think he'll be able to improve this this year. His last visit at the course and distance was an effort for 3rd of 13, beaten 4 lengths. The only all weather win was also at the course and distance, November 14, 2006. Jockey Patrick Donaghy was on board the streak of 9-11-6-10-9 and will be on for today. That is not a good sign but all 5 was raced on Turf. Donaghy on turf has 3 wins from 142 lifetime and 10 wins from 70 on the all weather. Donaghy and Guadaloup teamed on the all weather once and finished 4th of 9 over course and distance. Guadaloup was not in best shape that day from being 11th of 13 and 12th of 14 on his previous two starts. Donaghy for the year has three wins from six runs - two from here. 5pts ew @ 5-1 Bet365 BOG Southwell 2:10 Mind Alert Winless since February 22, 2006 but course and distance form from January last year could be a sign of good things for today. 2-2-3 at C&D from January 9 to 25 in 2007. He only finished 7th of 12 to start the year at Wolverhampton but the weights at 9-7 could have been too much that day. The 8-9 today will help and perhaps get it back to the form a year ago. Jockey James Doyle gets back on board after his absence from the last race. Doyle was on the previous two before LTO and they finished 4th of 12 (11-1) and 5th of 11 (7-1). Doyle is winless at the course from 36 4yo+ runners but his first two with Mind Alert looked good enough to possibly be placed today. 5pts ew @ 9-1 Bet365 Southwell 3:10 Tartatartufata Won at 25-1 LTO over course and distance. Jockey Patrick Donaghy is again to be on board. Donaghy has a form of 1-4-1-2-7-1 this year - two of three wins here. Her current form is hard to oppose with it now at 1-3-2-3-1 dating back to November 17, 2007 - 2nd and 1st at this course. With her 14 runs of third place or better from 23 I think she can continue on her current form. 10pts win @ 2-1 Bet365 BOG Southwell 3:10 Stolt Won his latest start by a short head at Wolverhampton and had 11-4 favorite Tartatartufata 2.50 lengths behind in 3rd. The weights that day was 9-0 for Stolt and 8-11 for Tartatartufata with today at 8-8 for Stolt and 8-12 for Tartartufata. First time at the course for Stolt but trainer N Wilson was able to send a runner to win on his first try here 4 days ago. Tartartufata is the Racing Post Forecast favorite but Stolt is one who can really give him somce problems. 5pts ew @ 8-1 Bet365 Southwell 3:40 Tagula Sunrise This will be the lowest to be raced at since 2005, 23 races. The latest outing was in Agust 11, 2007 for a 3rd of 10 at Ascot 1.50 lengths behind the two joing favorites, Our Faye and Dark Missle. Dark Missile who was 2nd by 3/4 lengths followed up with a short head defeat to the Kevin Prendergast colt Haatef at the Diadem Stakes. All weather debut today but racing in Class 1 and 2 the past 23 races should have this enough abilities for this Class 4. Jockey for today, Jamie Moriarty, had a winner over this course and distance yesterday. Trained by Tagula Sunrise trainer R A Fahey. Fahey is most successful here with 15% win rate the past 5 seasons compare to 4% at Lingfield and 7% at Wolverhampton. 5pts ew @ 4-1 Bet365 BOG Southwell 3:40 River Thames Trainer K A Ryan had an 18% win rate (17% lifetime) with his all 5-6f weather runners aged 4+. River Thames had his course debut only for a 6th of 9 to bring his all weather lifetime form to 9-8-6. Ryan has three runners for today with River Thames the only one paired with jockey Paul Mulrennan, the other two with Andrew Mullen. Mulrennan has a 14% (5-37) win rate and Mullen at 5% (4-80) for trainer K A Ryan on the all weather. Both wins was with jockey James Doyle. Doyle has a poor course record of 1 win from 52, 0 from 36 4yo+. The last 4 wins from 6 lifetime of Cornus have been 6f races. He was able to win on all weather and has a jockey he's been able to do well with so a chance for this event is available. 3pts ew @ 10-1 Bet365 BOG Southwell 3:40 Prince Tum Tum Trainer D Shaw had three 6f runners here yesterday and that was eough for two second priced at 6-1 and 11-4F. The other finished last of 7 priced at 6-1. The last three runs for Prince Tum Tum have been at this course with the last two for 6 furlongs. All three was a Class 2 Handicap finishing 4-3-6 against 9-6-8 runners beaten 6.75-5-5 lengths. It has been 329 days since the last race but he takes a drop of Class into 4 for today. I'd like to go with this one as he belongs to the N A Twiston-Davies & David England combo. Jockey David England has 8 wins (13 placed) from 29 chasers trained by Twiston-Davies this season - 17 from 67 all-time. They only have 2 wins from 29 with hurdlers when teamed up. Twiston-Davies has 7 wins from 39 chasers here the last 5 seasons and just 1 win from 48 hurdlers. 3pts ew @ 16-1 Bet365 BOG Taunton 2:40 Butterfly Rose Lightly raced with three hurdle and bumper outings last year. Her three hurdle starts was for defeats of 4.25, 13.5, 11 lengths so she's been able to to something. The latest was with jockey Denis O'Regan, scheduled to be on again today. Place prospect with her jockey being finding more success in Maiden Hurdles while in Ireland (11% compare to 8% for novice and handicaps). O'Regan has three wins from 17 Maiden Hurdlers in Britain for +2.73 LSP so I think the knowlwedge he has in these races Butterfly Rose has a chance today. 5pts ew @ 5-1 Bet365 BOG Taunton 3:10 Carnt Spell Trainer J T Stimpson have sent out just 18 chasers since 2006 but has a decent mark from those few - two wins, one second, and two each for third and fourth. Jockey Liam Heard is the one Stimpson has the most wins with at three, from 19 hurdlers, Carnt Spell will be their first chase team. Heard has only 1 win from 9 at the chase track but he's been doing well with chasers lately - 2-1-12-5-1-2 since Boxing Day. Carnt Spell won his last start at Huntingdon, 3m Good to Soft. He's been a better chaser as he has two wins, one second, two thirds from 13 and just one second from 11 hurdle starts. 5pts ew @ 7-2 Bet365 BOG Taunton 3:40 The Wooden Spoon Liked the 3 mile trip LTO finishing 2nd of 18 when lost by 1.75 lengths. It was his first outing with jockey Robert Lucey-Butler. Lucey-Butler is again on for today so maybe a similar effort like last time is very possible. Trainer Jim Best and Lucey-Butler as a combo this year has a form of 2-3-3-10. He's not been close to winning since started racing in December from his July break - 12-4-7. But, that 4th placed finish was at this course so the familiar settings might enable the form he had around this time last year. Trainer D Shaw had a winner her on New Year's day from two runners - 25-1 winner at 5f. Jockey Patrick Donaghy was on board that day and is scheduled to be with Lucius Verrus. 3pts ew @ 11-1 Bet365 BOG Southwell 1:20 Grand Palace One to not count out for today with his form at 2-1-3-2-1-2 since November 20, 2007. Only one of those start was here and it was for second place All runs have been for 6 furlongs with five of them being with jockey Dean McKeown (2-1-2-1-2). Jockey Pat Cosgrave was on board LTO and is scheduled to be on board today. With the current form of trainer and jockey I think Santa Clara is a good bet to have today. The third and first placed finishes was with P Carberry while the 10th was with B J Geraghty. Soft going was not around for those three events but all was for 2 miles. I think he can do well here even if it is the first time for his new trainer J R Jenkins. Jenkins has three wins from 19 hurdlers this season - also another four second and one third place runners. Two wins was ridden by jockey G Lee - from 8 hurdlers. 10pts win @ Evs Bet365 BOG Plumpton 1:25 Itâ€™s a Dream Defeated by Kruguyrova by 2 lengths LTO but the weights are set more in favor of It's A Dream this time around. LTO: It's A Dream @ 11-0 vs Kruguyrova @ 10-2 Today: It's A Dream @ 10-12 vs Kruguyrova @ 10-7 Kruguyrova was coming off a 1/2 length loss to Refinement when defeating It's A Dream who was making his chase debut. Kavatcha has failed to be consistent but McCoy was able to get his only hurdle victory - 6-1-5-F together. McCoy has two rides today and I think he has a better chance with this one because his chase form here is just 1 win from 11. Has been supported to as low as 4-7 so I think there was plenty of ablity expected from him. 10pts win @ 11-4 Bet365 BOG Plumpton 2:25 The Risky Viking Should not have any problems with the distance after winning a 4 miler on soft LTO. He did have his worst career performance prior to that but the distance that day was for 3 miles on good ground. The last two starts (8-1) are the only two tries over fences. Jockey David Dennis was on board for those two and again for today. Dennis has 3 chase wins from 14 trained by Nick Williams since 2006. - Just 1 from 17 the previous years. 10pts win @ 4-1 Bet365 Plumpton 2:55 Axinit Has a tough task today with being top weight at 12-0 but current form could be good enough. He's been 2-4-1 for the last three three starts and the last two with jockey John Flavin. The last time Axinit raced for two miles was last October for a 15th of 18 but his fall from the previous outing could have influenced that 15th. Despite top weight he has a chance, won LTO by 9 lengths, 2m4.5f on soft - made all, clear before 3 out, unchallenged. It by far his best finish since his return from France. His race in 2005 was the first since 2005 - he went 12-9-2-3 from November to 9 days ago. He did finish 3-2-2-5 from 4 hurdle events in Britain back in '05 and looks to shaping back into winning form. This is the best horse of the year for trainer C J Gray and likely he's been schooled well for today. Gray has 5 horses for this season and Mayeul's 2nd and 3rd placed finishes are the best results from the 5. 5pts ew @ 9-1 Bluesq Chepstow 3:35 Push The Port Consisten for the year 2007, placed in all four races, 3-3-2-2. Three of the four was raced on soft ground - 3-2-2. Last three have been with jockey Jay Pemberton. Pemberton is scheduled to be on the saddle today. Only one other from 13 rivals won LTO and next best finishers would be a 3rd placed finisher with the rest 5th or worse. Mr J Snowden is scheduled to be jockey and he's been on for the past 3 races. His latest was far from being avoided today. He looked like the winner but could not last the whole 3 mile trip - drew clear 3 out, but tired and blunder the last. The distance of 3 miles or more have usually been a problem so this drop back to 2m4f could get him back on top. 10pts win @ 9-4 Bet365 BOG Fontwell 2:55 Exmoor Ranger Improvement was gained LTO with his 5th of 14 finish, beaten 15 lengths. The prior start was for 6th of 11, beaten 46 lengths. Trainer V R A Datnall have sent 3 winners from the last 7 - 2 of last 4 hurdlers won. Two of those three winners had James White for jockey - one chaser and one hurdler. He was raced at 5 and 6 furlongs since July '07 - 7 races. The race was at Southwell and he comes into this course having a lifetime form of 6-12-6-7 here. I think he can be ready to improve his course record. Trainer send most of the all-weather runners at this course and the jockey on board, Phillip Makin had 6 wins from 14 4yo+ runners last year. Makin was on board TSF for the first time LTO. The Salwick Flyer has two wins, two thirds, and one fourth from nine races for current owner The Irish Mafia. 5 pts ew @ 6-1 Ladbrokes Wolverhampton 8:50 Epidaurian King Poor course record of 7-3-8 but been improving since finishing last from 14 runners at Lingfield last November. The last four have been 14-8-4-1. All four are the only occasions when jockey Dean McKeown is on board. He won by 2 lengths while giving 3lbs to second place. His overall record here is conistent having been placed in 12 of 17 races with current trainer B P J Baugh. The first three tries here was for a different trainer and only finished 7-2-5 then Something to dislike is the fact Scamperdale has never won a Class 4 (or better) event - 3rd and 4th from two Class 4's in June last year. Jockey for today Sam Thomas has been with this one for four runs - 3-4-F-1. Thomas has 9 wins from 26 with chasers at this course - 5 wins from 32 hurdlers.
