  1. Re: PL Christmas Poker Tourney - December 30th 8pm - 53 Prizes & Over £1000 Added! Am in - username PLJunior88. Done a bit of a Santa Claus myself (not a reflection on my fiancee for the record) by not turning up much in the previous year (well, online at least) but will certainly have fun playing this - have already pointed out to the other half Rule Number One of the tourney, might as well have one or two in advance as well ... you know, just to get in the mood. Excellent work on the prizes to all those involved in making it a success :clap

  2. Hi guys, Hopefully will get a few ideas from the North-East crew for this one ... basically there's a few of us working away in Newcastle for a week (and Middlesborough for 2 weeks after that) and wondering if there are any decent tounreys in the evenings. Ideally close to the central train station, starting 7pm or later, preferably Freezout or Double chance - looking for lower cost and better atmosphere rather than higher cost (spent too much on booze!). Any ideas welcome, or if any questions feel free to fire away. :ok Thanks in advance, Rob

  3. So, I'd been keeping an eye out for any free Fantasy Football comps appearing, and by the looks of it a lot of you guys have already used Metro for the league etc before - so why not do it for the World Cup? http://fantasyfootball.metro.co.uk/ I've created a Mini-League called PuntersLounge, league PIN 8005286; feel free to create your teams and join the league. Restrictions are £100m for 2 GK, 5 DEF, 5 MF, 3 ST, with (seemingly) no restrictions on number of players from one country. I've created mine, however, with the traditional no-more-than-2-from-one-team approach, although I may end up changing that as it gets closer ... There is a transfer amnesty until 3pm, June 11th so make sure all your tweaking is done by then. As long as I'm able to during the competition I'll simply copy across the table into the thread to keep everyone aware of how badly I'm doing ;) Have fun working out which crummy defender you want to put up with (we all have one) :ok Rob

  4. Re: UK General Election

So annoyed I didn't bet on a hung Parliament way back when it was mere speculation and not just the likeliest result (2/1+!! :eyes). Surprised that it was still backable at 4/7 at 10pm Thursday night with some British bookies betting in-running when the broadcasters' exit poll more-or-less got the number of seats correct.
To be fair though, even some political pundits (Iain Dale for example) were saying the exit polls were going to be a mile off even after the final one was announced at 10pm ... I think the fact that the swing to the Con's was so varied throughout the country made things harder to predict, but the exit poll got it pretty close considering. Fluke or good sample selection?
  5. Re: Microgaming Problem It's in your temporary Internet Files, so deleting them won't be a problem when you come to use the program itself. McAfee tends to be over-conscious of tracking cookies compared to a lot of antivirus/malware software out there.
