  1. Re: England > Npower Football League Championship > 3-4 December Bristol City to beat Middlesborough 15/8 victorchandller Bristol City look a much better side since the arrival of manager Derek Mcinnes. Evidence of this was the 2-0 win over Southampton. By all accounts they also played very well in the 2-2 draw at Watford. Middlesborough on the other hand seem to be struggling a little. They were one of the pre-season favourites and started well enough but haven't really built on it and appear very beatable. I'm more than happy to take the 15/8 that is available.

  2. Re: England: League One Nov 26-28 BURY TO BEAT PRESTON 13/8 WILLHILL I'm surprised at the odds on this one. Bury are playing ok of late winning 5 of their last eight games. Preston on the other hand are really struggling and have lost 7 of their last eight and drawing the other. based on current form the 13/8 looks very attractive

  3. Re: England > Npower Football League One > 19th November

Views on Huddersfield - Notts County? The price on home win now 1.8 at WH.
I would be a little concerned about taking the odds on price. I just get a nagging feeling that Huddersfield have become obsessed with keeping their unbeaten record and it has had an adverse affect on them. As a result their results have been a tad disappointing of late by their own high standards. In their last three games they only drew with Scunthorpe and Walsall and managed to scrape past Yeovil 1-0. Notts county can be tricky opponents and have only failed to find the back of the net on two occasions all season. ps Its safe to ignore the thrashing by Swindon as I believe they made seven changes.
  4. Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Nov 18-19 Tamworth v Kettering I'm not tempted by odds on for Tamworth for the simple reason that despite their "problems" Kettering have found the back of the net in nine of their last 10 league games. It is therefore highly likely that Tamworth will have to score at least two to win. For that reason a better bet may be to take the over 2.5 goals or both to score at around the same price which looks a more likely outcome.

  5. Re: Darts: Grand Slam of Darts 2011

1pt ew D.Chisnall to win Grand Slam of Darts 40/1 Paddy Power (1/2 1,2) Regulars to the darts threads will know how highly I rate Dave Chisnall and I'm going to take that and put my money where my mouth is this week. Chisnall comes into this event having won his first PDC tour title last week when he beat the form man Justin Pipe in the final. Prior to the final he beat Adrian Lewis so that's a decent form guide. That was the second final Chisnall has made in the last 6 weeks so he's playing good darts. We all know Chissy's achilles heel is his doubles but I believe winning his first title will give him the confidence to attack those doubles and if he does attack them I think he'll be very tough to stop this week because it's probably only Gary Anderson who outscores him these days. Chisnall is in a bitch of a group so he'll need to be focused from the off but I expect a decent run out of the St Helens man this week and at 40/1 the price is perfectly acceptable for an each way punt.
Now 66/1 Stan james Agree with everything you say about Chisnall the guy is a prolific scorer and maybe the best 180 hitter in the business. Its his ability to regularly hit the doubles that is the only concern. However his doubling against Wade was excellent. Despite his impressive performance stanjames have pushed him out to 66/1 which looks too long to me. Yes he's may have to win the two final games to qualify but he is certainly capable of that.
  6. Re: Darts: Grand Slam of Darts 2011 Dean Winstanley to win group 2 7/2 boylesport bet365 stanjames BDO world finalist Winstanley is a solid player and looks the value bet at 7/2. Barneveld is obviously the quality player in the group but sadly he isn't the player he was and sometimes it appears that he no longer has the determination needed to win. Winstanley showed the world championship final was no fluke when he reached the final of the world master where he lost to Waites. I cant see white figuring much and Hankey's best days are behind him although he is still capable on his day.

  7. Re: England > Non League > 12th - 13th November Harrow Borough v Leatherhead Leatherhead to win 23/10 sportingbet and paddy power Leatherhead are a team transformed under manager Richard Brady. Since he's taken charge the team's performances have improved vastly; culminating with two excellent performances against a very decent Sutton side. I'm convinced that they are a team to follow and will surely march up the league to mid table safety.

  8. Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Nov 5

I will again oppose the team beaten by Alfreton. Lincoln are shocking at the moment and their fans turn on the team at the slightest opportunity. The club needs a clearout of players but that won't happen any time soon and there is no confidence about the place. Again, their opponents Barrow are no world beaters but, in their last 3 league games have beaten Hayes and Darlington away and Kidderminster at home, teams with a similar current profile of confidence to Lincoln. Barrow for me. Plety of 6/4 about. GL
I concur on the barrow tip. As you say they are no world beaters but they have in fact scored in every single match this year. For that reason and lincoln's lack of goals I see skybet's 11/8 on Barrow draw no bet as a safe bet.
  9. Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Nov 5 York to beat Wrexham 11/10 most firms I'm happy to take odds against for York. When on song they look a class above this league. They will be smarting at the FA cup exit against wrexham and keen for revenge. The 3-0 wins over Wrexham and Luton show what they are capable of and with all due respect to Wrexham if York play to their potential i can only see a home win.

  10. Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Aug 19-20

First of all given how big I am on Newport to win the league I obviously want them to win tomorrow. My point is though that to say any team deserves to be bottom after two games is rather harsh. To me you deserve to be bottom if you are the worse team in the league and its impossible to say that after two games. I fully accept they were poor on Tuesday night but I my feeling is that they will start winning at somepoint and given how bad they were on Tuesday they wont be that bad again I would have thought. My view is the price isnt much value.
Wow I wasn't expecting the Spanish Inquisition when I used the word deservedly! No offence was meant to the fans or club. For the record it saddens me to see the Mariners struggle. However on the performances so far I think they deserve to be bottom. Its my opinion and I'm entitled to it. I don't want this discussion to degenerate so I wont be posting again.
  11. Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Aug 19-20

Why do Grimsby deservedy prop up the league? They arent going to be there come the end of the season thats for certain. As I said above its always a fear when good teams get thrashed as to how they react in the next game.
I base it on the fact my friend goes to every Grimsby match and he says Grimsby were abject against Fleetwood and Braintree. Even if his assessment is incorrect they deserve to be bottom because statically they have the worst record so far. I made no prediction on where they will be come the end of the season so don't really see the relevance. I maintain the odds are wrong however I may be wrong its just my opinion.
  12. Re: England > Weekend > Championship > 20-21 August Derby v Doncaster Doncaster to win at 4/1 Victor chandler. Derby have won three out of three and Doncaster have lost three out of three. It looks a home banker on paper but there is no such thing in this league! Doncaster by all accounts have been unlucky to lose all three and have played some decent football. They have recently acquired Milan Lalkovic from Chelsea who is an exciting prospect and will add some flair to the attack. 4/1 looks a decent price to me.

  13. Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Aug 19-20 NEWPORT TO BEAT GRIMSBY EVENS Bet365 Coral I cant understand why Newport aren't odds on. Newport are clearly one of the best sides in the league and will surely start at shorter odds in forthcoming home games. Grimsby on the other hand deservedly prop up the league and another hiding could be on the cards.

  14. Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Aug 12-13 YORK V BARROW FIRST GOALSCORER Walker 5/1 Boucaud 14/1 888 and Bluesquare I know that Jason Walker has been rubbished on these forums but he looks the real deal to me. For me he should be clear favourite in the first goalscorer market. Instead chambers and Reed head the market at 4/1. For some reason Walker is 5/1 the same as Henderson who wont start and never scores anyway. Just to confirm that Bluesquare have the market all wrong Peter Till is 8/1 but now plays for Fleetwood! Boucaud looks a different player this year. He is getting forward a lot and will definitely score goals. The 14/1 is overpriced and is worth a small nibble. I would have preferred the anytime market but cant fine one.

  15. Re: Scottish Premier League > Ante-Post 2011-12 Season CELTIC TO WIN HANICAP 9/1 MOST FIRMS Celtic give away 1 or 2 points to Rangers in most handicaps. That shouldn't be much of a problem as this year Celtic seem to have the bigger and better squad. I cannot see the other teams getting anywhere near to them despite the handicaps. The also rans (no offence meant) recieve 40+ points but considering there was a 60 point gap between the top two and the bottom three it hardly seems sufficent. Hearts receive 23 points and Dundee United 27 but considering they were 30 points behind last year I cant see it being enough.

  16. Re: Flat Racing; Tuesday 5th April

Kempton 2:50 Understory 10-1 Bet365(BOG) 1 POINT WIN Think this looks a cracking bet today, back on its last winning mark over this distance Understory looks a horse that was made for the Kempton. He relishes really quick ground and the 10f is his specialist distance. He has had two runs back since a long break and improvement in the last makes me feel he is ready to strike today. King Callan takes the ride and nobody rides the AW like Callan, especially around Kempton.
Nice tip led start to finish. :clap
  17. Re: PDC Darts World Championship M MANSELL TO REACH FINAL 1000/1 SKYBET Ok I'm being hugely optimistic here but kirk shephard showed in 2008 that a non seed can reach the final. Mansell is a talented Irish player who recently won the Tom Kirby memorial Irish Matchplay. Although obviously not a major tournament it shows he's in good form. He also recently had a great run in the PDPA players championship eventually losing 6-4 to eventual winner Jamie Caven. Clearly he is in form and if some of the big names slip up who knows. The odds of 1000/1 are just too attractive to ignore.

  18. Re: PDC Darts World Championship STEVE BROWN TO WIN 3rd QUARTER 80/1 SKYBET The 3rd quarter looks an interesting one. Although Wade is clearly the class act in this quarter he crumbled badly against Waites which must be a concern. Jenkins appears to be in decline so its possible an outsider could prevail. I like the look of Steve Brown who is very capable on his day. Ive seen him play a few times and he can certainly hit some big finishes. In what could be an open quarter the price of 80/1 looks tempting

  19. Re: Snooker: World Open 2010 ANDREW HIGGINSON 80/1 SKYBET I'm looking forward to this one and we should see some unfamiliar names progressing. I think its definately worth a small put on an outsider. I fancy Andrew Higginson at 80/1 Skybet. When he reached the final of the Welsh open in 2007 I thought he was bound to go on and quickly get in the top 32. It just hasn't happened for him though but finally he has made the top 32. He is quality player at his best and has important tv experience unlike many of the outsiders.

  20. Re: 100/1 shots Going to try my luck with a 5 team accumalator, all odds against. Barnsley to beat Derby 11/10 East Fife to beat Ayr 7/5 Forfar to beat Stenhousemuir 11/8 Bournmouth to beat Oldham 19/10 Torquay to beat Stevenage 2/1 Pays 103/1 with Betfred The bookmakers continue to underestimate Barnsley. The put five past leeds and have won three out of three at home. Derby are no great shakes so odds against look good. The bookmakers continue to overestimate Ayr. Free scoring East Fife should have too much fire power for them Forfar are a bit of a surprise package this season: losing only to Livingstone. They are good enough to beat a below average Stenhousemuir. Despite losing Pitman: Bournemouth continue to knock in the goals. Oldham can be difficult to beat. But Bournemouth continue to sweep all before them and are fancied for to win. Torquay have lost their way a little in the last two games but Im sure they will soon be back to winning ways. I saw Stevenage last season they were a big physical side but not over talented. I expect them to struggle at this higher level and are not as classy as Torquay.

  21. Re: 100/1 shots ALLOA TO WIN 6-0 150/1 ALLOA TO WIN 6-1 150/1 Thanks for the encouragment Chris and Seabird. Sorry I couldn't deliver the goods. However I still have 98 more chances to win to break even! I am keeping an eye on Alloa this season they seem to be in great form and have plenty of goals in them. Dumbarton on the other hand are having a poor seaon and have already conceded six against East Fife this season. im not concerned by the fact they won against Stenhousemuir last week it was a scrappy game with many bookings. I can honestly see Alloa getting plenty of goals. Therefore the 150/1 widely available on a 6-0 looks overpriced to me. I would also have a go at 6-1 at the same price

  22. Im going to try a few 100/1 shots and see how I go. Im not picking random ones just ones where I think there is value. I will start with these two. Bet 1. Yacine Brahimi to score 2 or more Rennes v Sochaux. Brahimi is an exciting attacking midfielder and has scored already this season. The 100/1 at bet365 looks value. Bet 2. football accumalator pays 98.7/1 with bet365 (sorry just short of 100/1 you could add cardiff to make 150/1 Newcastel win and over 2.5 goals in the match QPR to beat Middlesborough Alloa to beat Ayr Crewe v Bury over 2.5 goals Mark Richards any time goal score for Port Vale Ipswich to win at Portsmouth Reasoning-Newcastle should have too much for Blackpool and both teams know how to score so the over 2.5 looks good. Qpr at odds against looks value. They have won 2 from 2 at home scoring 6 without reply. Middlesborough are not showing form anything like that of pre season favourites Alloa are a decent team and should beat struggling Ayr who have only beaten a poor dumbarton team Crewe and Bury cant stop scoring the game looks full of goals Port vale always score and M Richards is usually amonst the scorers Portsmouth are struggling in the championship I believe Ipswich should have too much for them. :hope

  23. Re: Euro 2012 Qualifying > 7th September I think the 7/4 (victor Chandler) represesnts good value for Bosnia. We all know how much france are struggling at the momment. I see know reason why they should suddenly turn their form around. Bosnia are a decent side on their day and usually perform well at home. They ended the world cup qualifying group with a flourish putting seven past Estonia four past Armenia and four past Belgium away. They are clearly capable of scoring: something that France are struggling to do.
