  1. Re: BBOTD - Friday 30th December 6.40 Wolves: Justcallmehandsome 1pt win @ 12/1 Bet365 BOG Been waiting for this one to turn out again after a pretty disappointing effort here LTO. That was in a hands and heels race and I felt the jockey never really put the horse in the race that day therefore was left with no chance turning for home IMO. On penultimate effort when a very cosy winner this horse has to be given a chance - is still 10lbs lower than highest winning mark and loves it round here having won on 11 occasions. Big chance here at a working mans price.

  2. Re: BBOTD Wednesday 21st of December Wolves 3.00: Roodee Queen 1pt win @ 14/1 Bet365 Following a stable in form here a little however think this horse has a great chance from only 2lbs higher than last victory. Made very decent progression over the summer winning 5 on the bounce with the last of those victories looking pretty solid in the context of todays race over this trip at Epsom. Been given a break since September but that shouldn't cause any significant problems and 14/1 looks too big IMO.

  3. Re: BBOTD - Tues 20th Dec Wolves 3.45: Volcanic Dust 1pt win @ 20/1 PP BOG Lightly raced 3yo who returns from an Autumn break from, what may prove, quite an attractive handicap mark. Won very cosily on penultimate start over this trip in a 3 runner race at Sandown from only 4lbs lower before running out of steam from revised mark over 6f at Newbury when last seen. Stable in decent heart and has every chance today returned to the minimum trip from an ideal draw for a horse that likes to race prominently. There's been a little nibble at it in the market so the current odds of 20/1 may prove decent value.

  4. Re: BBOTD Monday 19th December 3.20 Wolves: Lucky Dan 1pt win @ 14/1 Boylesports BOG Seems a popular race in here today. Think this Paul Green horse has a great chance here if able to forgive LTO flop when well beaten favourite over C&D. Previous run over furlong shorter puts the horse bang there and I am willing to give it another chance returned to 6f today. Handicapper has given the horse a great chance, now running from 4lbs lower than last win and with stable in form the horse has a great chance in an open looking race.

  5. Re: BBOTD - Thursday 15th December 1.30 Southwell: If you whisper 1pt win @ 14/1 Boylesports BOG With Greyfriarschorista in the race there are some meaty prices going about here. Every chance the jolly will hose in for the hat-trick, however from a 12lb higher mark I would be willing to oppose at the current price. Of those in opposition a couple can be given a shout, however I really like the look of Mike Murphy's horse If You Whisper. Only had one attempt on this surface which resulted in a comfortable maiden win over 7f last October. Ran well on handicap debut next time out over this trip at Lingfield from a mark of 78 before disappointing since returned from a break in the summer. However LTO effort over 10f was a big step back in the right direction and dropped a further pound to a mark of 71 the horse is now quite attractively handicapped. Returned to this surface and with no doubting stamina for this trip I think there could be a little value in this horse today.

  6. Re: Trainers linked to which bookies?

Official report has the priceless remark: 'A deeper thinker than Quinn would have realised the trouble that he was exposing himself to, but Quinn is not a deep thinker.' https://www.britishhorseracing.presscentre.com/Press-Releases/Result-and-Reasons-of-Disciplinary-Panel-regarding-Sines-Crickmore-Doe-Fairley-Quinn-Milczarek-Fitzsimons-et-al-249.aspx
hahaha - belter also liked the RP quote from Milczarek where it came across as if she felt she had duped them... "There's just a few issues and I was found guilty on one particular thing but it wasn't a ride which I'm quite relieved about."
  7. Re: BBOTD - Wed 14th Newbury 2.35: Pasco 1pt win @ 9/2 PP BOG Certainly has a bit to find with Time For Rupert here, however this isn't a bullet proof favourite in my opinion and the Nicholl's horse has a touch of class about it and should be all the better for a breathing op since last run. Wouldn't be the first time a Nicholl's horse comes out in similar circumstances and shows improved form. Has the form to play a part here and loves it round this course never finishing out of the first two which is a massive plus. Ground conditions shouldn't inconvenience and if this step up to 3m suits then 9/2 could prove a fair price.

  8. Re: Oh my word... Think Waley-Cohen made the excuse straight after the race when interviewed and in the Stewards Room that he pulled the horse up as he heard a gurgling noise and thought it had swallowed it's tongue - I think this was his automatic excuse as i'm certain his initial fear was that he would be banned over Xmas and therefore potentially miss the ride on Long Run in the King George. Obviously it's a load of total nonsense when you see how he rode the horse away from the fence and how the horse was travelling, however with the potential of missing out the King George I suppose you can't blame him for making a lame ass excuse to attempt to avoid that ban. Once they informed him his ban would run from January the 1st and it wouldn't affect the King George his attitude totally changed to one of acceptance in the subsequent interview with Richard Pitman and he admitted it looked bad on camera. He made a complete cock up on course and tried to avoid a potential nightmare ban by spouting bull afterwards - he's only human after all and think a lot of other jockeys may have had a jackanory moment, as he did, faced with missing the King George mates :ok On the back of this has anyone else heard of any other dodgy excuses made up for the Stewards, just out of interest? :ok

  9. Re: FLAT Racing - December 13th, Tuesday 1.30 Southwell: Twice Red 1pt win @ 16/1 Ladbrokes Derek Shaw's runner here is completely unexposed only having had three starts to date. The best of which is undoubtedly debut effort when a convincing winner over C&D. Has been seen twice since in handicap company, the first time at Wolves when ran well enough considering the drop to 5f looked to go against the horse and LTO when stone last at Chester after a slow start - both of which are races which can be overlooked in my opinion. Having proven effectiveness over C&D and from what now looks a very workable handicap mark based on that debut victory, I really think this horse appears overpriced at current 16/1 as it could easily leave previous handicap form well behind here under ideal conditions.

  11. Re: The ATR Interviews ~ Monterosso Great stuff and brilliant read. These interviews are great as you learn so much more about the individual that you would never expect. For example I now know a 21yr old with a love for eastenders and dire straits... really mate ;) Really interesting read monte and I hope to get to one of the meets and share a beer or two with you pal - keep up the good work on here - top lad :ok

  12. Re: BBOTD - Monday 12 December 2.30 Fakenham: Monroe Park 1pt win @ 9/1 VC Bet BOG Fairly lightly raced horse and open to improvement back up to this trip. Returns to handicap company after a couple of efforts in novice company - return to 3m a plus and C&D form could prove vital here. Bit of money about for it too so has a decent chance in an open race.

  13. Re: BBOTD Saturday 10th of December 1.20 Cheltenham: Dave's Dream 1pt win @ 8/1 PP Course winner in November over 2m on similar ground to tomorrow running that day from 10lbs lower in the handicap. Last couple of, disappointing, starts have been over 5f further round here on ground that could prove softer than ideal. Definitely interesting tomorrow dropped back to a more suitable trip and on ground the horse should relish. Jeremiahj McGrath's 5lb claim makes this horse quite interestingly weighted and no surprise to see the Nicky Henderson number two here go close.

  14. Re: BBOTD Friday 9th December 1.10 Chelts: Nudge & Nurdle 1pt win @ 12/1 Bet365 Handicapped well having placed form this year from higher - Willie TD takes off another valuable 8lbs which makes the horse quite attractively weighted. Bit of a leap of faith as recent form has been nothing to shout about, however drop back in trip might assist and in a very winnable race this horse is entitled to go close at a price.

  15. Re: BBOTD Thursday 8th of December 1.10 Ludlow: Get it on 1pt win @ 10/1 Ladbrokes Going to take a chance here on the Evan Williams trained Get it On who was still going well enough when falling 3 out LTO in a race won by Invictus who looks a decent chaser in the making. Not saying it would have beaten the horse but even this horses previous form give it every chance of running a decent race in handicap company from this mark. Stable in great form and at 10/1 I feel this horse is the value on offer here if able to cope with the drop back in trip.

  16. Re: BBOTD Wed 7th Dec 4.50 Kempton: Scamperdale 0.5pts e/w @ 20/1 Bet365 BOG This price looks big for this horse. Although plying it's trade most recently in claimers unsuccessfully, the handicap mark has slipped and now looks quite attractive. C&D winner so trip no issue, Jimmy Fortune a positive booking and drawn 1 which should suit the horses prominent racing style - ran well in better handicap company than this in September from 8lbs higher so tonights mark of 82 makes the horse quite a tempting proposition at 20/1.

  17. Re: Take a bow Noel Fehily Was quite a ride by Noel Fehily for sure and as rightly pointed out if it had been McCoy it would have been big news. Gold star for perseverance for sure. The horses in front were stopping dead mind you but a lot of other jockeys could have given up the ghost so hats off to Fehily on a great ride and deserved plaudits :clap I remembered that race with Ballycarron Lad as i'd backed it (not to great stakes I hasten to add) - I had given up on it with just over a mile to go and even with 5f of a mile to go you wouldn't have given it a cat in hells chance. For that ride I think Campbell Gillies should be applauded for pace judgement and not getting involved in the furious gallop set by the others (especially the two beaten out of sight) for a 3m+ contest as he ended up winning incredibly comfortably. :ok

  18. Re: BBOTD - Tues 6th December 12.00 Southwell: Yours 1pt win @ 12/1 VC Bet BOG Beaten fave when last seen in May. Definitely handicapped to win races and this race is weak and wide open as a consequence. Surface an unknown, however breeding suggests that it should pose no problem being related to plenty of winners on the fibresand. Drawn well, stable in decent enough heart and if ready to go after 6 months off then should go close at decent odds.

  19. Re: BBOTD 5th Dec 2.00 Lingfield: King of Windsor 1pt win @ 10/1 Will Hill BOG This should be run at a decent clip which may play into the hands of one of the hold up performers. Think King of Windsor has a great chance here - been given a major chance by the handicapper and consequently drops into weakest handicap company the horse has had to face to date, stable in decent form as is jockey Jim Crowley. Could go close here at a nice price IMO.

  20. Re: BBOTD Knockout Competition ~ 1st Round Play Offs

Ok' date=' Cpo beat Verisi in the replay and we had no show from Chris or CC75, their place in the next round goes to Bathtime For Rupert who had the best score of the 1st round losers.[/quote'] So sorry BH - was away all day Saturday and completely forgot about this on Friday night when I posted my saturday selection. Also not used to being in the knockout cup - it's been so long since I qualified! Shocking effort on my part, so major apologies to you and all others :sad Good luck BFR and all others :ok
  21. Re: BBOTD Saturday 3rd December 1.25 Sandown: Arrayan 1pt win @ 8/1 PP BOG Really interesting horse stepped up in trip. Very lightly raced and this handicap mark may be well within the horses reach given how well it was fancied for the Imperial Cup despite blowing up. Trainer shrewd gone in mob handed here and with Conor O'Farrell good for his additional 3lbs think this horse looks decent value at current 8/1.
