  1. Re: Stan James World Matchplay Darts - July 17-25

Just watching the Whitlock match atm' date=' anyone else feel it might be one of those days for him. Suffering from flu, struggling a bit on the checkouts, might be an opportunity for Brown perhaps.[/quote'] I do fishy, I usually take rumours with a pinch of salt but he really doesnt look well, he's got serious bags under his eyes and although he's just broke Brown's throw the longer Brown takes this game Whitlock could go out like a light if he's on the weak side. I haven't bet yet but i'm certainly keeping an eye on the market.
  2. Re: must be time for another night @ Barries

okay np' date=' how about 3rd or 17th?[/quote'] 3rd is a no no for me but the 17th is fine, Al. I'll ring Sarah tomorrow to make sure they haven't got anything else on for that date and if not, we'll take it from there. :ok
  3. Re: Darts: Premier League - Finals night It's pretty special to witness one 9 darter in a night, but to see 2 of them is amazing. I've got a feeling Taylor will make these 9 darters quite a party piece in time to come as he often mentions the liklehood of 9 darters in his interviews and tonight they came off. The thing is that 9 darters are probably 10-a-penny in practice for him so it's only natural I guess with the determination he's got that they're going to find their way onto the stage as he yet again takes the game to perhaps another level. Hats off to Wade too, he was great tonight. :clap:clap:clap

  4. Re: Towcester - BIG sting landed I love Barney Curley:ok Years ago my Dad told me of that sting of his at Bellewstown and he's carried on that reputation since. Just for a giggle, here's the ATR vid of the day at Folkestone when Barney threatened to "put his foot through" an ATR monitor:rollinand got stuck into Luke Harvey and that oaf McCrirrick big time. :lol

  5. Re: PL Racing Club - Interested?

Cartmel is a great day out but poor for racing-I watch it on the telly in the Ladbrokes tent as the course is obscured partly by a wood and part by corporate tents. I did mention water earlier and if it rains at cartmel there is nowhere to hide as on bank hols 20000 turn up and the only small stand is ticket only by paying for lunch-suggest if a visit is organised we book the restaurant well in advance. I would be happy to provide accomodation for a couple of members-I live about 20 miles from the track. The best day is the midweek fixture as saturdays/bank hols are a mini version of cheltenham festival! Dave
PS The best way to do cartmel is to book rooms in a pub' date=' organise a minibus to take us in via the back roads (the main road in gets clogged and it can take an hour to do the last 2-3 miles) I guess the pubs/hotels in Cartmel and surrounds are booked a year or so in advance for racedays as they only race 8 days a year and all in the peak summer tourist season.[/quote'] I've been promising myself a trip up to Cartmel for a couple of years now and it's going to happen in 2010. I've penned the meeting of Wednesday 2nd June in my diary and I can't wait.
  6. Re: Darts: PDC World Championships 2010 Stompe v Maish - High Checkout - Over 116.5 - PaddyPower That line looks a bit low to me. Maish put in a few meaty checkouts in the Grand Slam last month from what I remember and if Stompe is on his game he can make big finishes look easy, even though at times he doesn't go the conventional route with some finishes. 5 Pts on over 116.5 @ 1.9

  7. Re: Darts :European Championship 2009 (29/10-01/11) Wes Newton looks a good prospect against Robert Thornton for me. Newton got to the final in the recent PDPA tournament in Nuland, losing to Steve Beaton 6-1, but he took out Adrian Lewis in the semis, as well as Colin Monk and Roland Scholtern in earlier rounds. Thornton went out in the 4th round 6-2 to Kevin Painter after unknowns Braulio Roncero and Jordy Terburg both took Thornton to a deciding 11th leg. Newton also reached the final, losing to Phil Taylor in one of the PDPA event prior to the recent World Grand Prix so it's clear that Newton is in some decent form whereas Thornton was under the weather at the Grand Prix, playing with his throwing hand strapped up and if I remember correctly he'd recently been up in front of the magistrate after assaulting his wife. 5 pts on Newton at 2.25 with Betway

  8. Re: Anybody Interested In X Factor ???

Can't see Rock DJ flattering ANYBODY, and John and Edward are so annoying they could crash out at the first hurdle.
I think there's a couple of shows in them at least mate, agreed they are pair of cretins and annoying as hell, and Cowell hates them with a passion and he'll lay into them at the first opportunity. I think they'll get enough votes from a certain section of the public to keep them in for a bit and we all know that the worst acts rarely goes out first, so i'm even tempted to lay them at about 2.3 for a bottom two finish this week.
  9. Re: Thommo

He was like a peado today Said "Look at all these stunners behind me" Camera panned around and there was a load of kids :lol
:lol:lol:lol I saw that mate and had a chuckle to myself. I actually like Thommo, but purely to laugh at:lol He's not the best at his job admittedly but like it's been said he's enthusiastic and when you listen to his occasional commentaries he still get's excited by the game, that's ok by me. It's Aussie Jim I really can't bloody stand:eyes
