  1. Re: Cash Game Challenge 4 Life That went pretty quick. +10buy-ins so back up to 100nl for the next stage of 10 to 5. Make 10 buy-ins move up, lose 5 move down. Will be interesting/scary to see how my new style does at 100nl even though it crushed everyone into oblivion at 50nl, 100nl is way more aggro. +10/10 18CJU.png

  2. Re: Purple Lounge Closes, No Word on Player Deposits http://www.gamingintelligence.com/business/16250-players-and-staff-lose-out-as-purple-lounge-liquidated Media Corp has said that a financial review conducted by the company’s new management team has revealed historic operational and financial failings within the Purple Lounge business which make its continuing operation untenable. As a result, the business has been placed into liquidation and all staff members made redundant. The fallout from this extends beyond the company however, with Purple Lounge players potentially losing funds held in their Purple Lounge accounts. Media Corp said Thursday that it will specifically request that the appointed liquidators look into the financial arrangements within the Purple Lounge group of companies and to review the position as to player funds. “The Board regrets any corporate failings in the past and seeks to assure shareholders that it is exploring routes to try, in some way, to mitigate the expected player losses,” the company said in a statement. The collapse of Purple Lounge once again highlights the apparent absurdity of regulations in some licensing jurisdictions. Whereas licensing regimes are meant to offer a certain degree of protection to the customers of licensed online gaming sites, many are now referring to these as “good times regulators”, a reference to their perceived abandonment of players when things go wrong. Malta’s Lotteries and Gaming Authority recently announced that it has cancelled the online gaming licences of Purple Lounge, at the request of the company, and therefore has no further authority over the business. It advised players to contact the company directly regarding the return of funds. t mirrors the experience of Full Tilt players, whose licence was revoked by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission, thereby ending the regulators involvement with the business and leaving players with no responsible authority to turn to. “Notwithstanding the difficult decision it has made, the Board believes that it can put the poor trading of Purple Lounge behind it and will be working to bring the Group back to profitability, as quickly as possible,” concluded the statement from Media Corp. It is almost certain however that those profits will not find their way to the players whose funds have disappeared along with Purple Lounge’s licence. Shares in Media Corp plc (Co. Data) (AIM:MDC) plummeted 16.36 per cent in London this miorning to 0.46 pence per share. The shares have lost over 70 per cent of their value in the year to date.

  3. Re: Isildur All SCOOP final tables are available to watch with all holecards on PokerStars. Go to Events > SCOOP > all Just watched Isildur on one of his final tables when it was down to 4. He actually played pretty conservative the whole way, just was selectively aggressive a couple of times and took a couple of flips. Played totally straightforward heads-up but was happy to play bad hands out of position, even called a big 4bet 3 handed out of position with some low cards and won the pot with a flop or turn check raise with air. Worth watching some of these final tables for any tournament player i think.

  4. Re: Cash Game Challenge 4 Life 6.3k hands. -3/10 mixture of huge experimentation and run bad puts me nearly at 50nl, but it's no problem that's the deal just gotta suck it up buttercup. the games are beyond ridiculously aggressive, it's like a warzone for every single pot so swings will be as standard. Looking forward to 50nl. I'm bankrolled for 200nl so don't worry, just really want to see if i can uber improve my game to beat these games. Have been doing some secret studying, obviously not working out so far ;) BUT when it does, there will be some cool strategy posts, they'll be gold i guarantee.

  5. Re: Isildur Just had a look myself. The fields were: Limit Stud (64) for $41,600 Triple Stud (68) for $44,200 Limit Stud H/L (74) for $40,330 HORSE (85) for $46,325 Shaun's record over the past 5+yrs is beyond ridiculous, he's made millions so i'm not going to take anything away from him though they're small fields.

  6. Have been playing around with a few things the last few days. Like you know when you're trying to sleep, you're tossing and turning and can't really get comfortable. That's how i've been lately on the poker tables. Played about 15MTTs today with few successes. Didn't get me inspired. Then i had a brainwave. It will be called '10 to 5' Aggressive bankroll management. Starting at 100nl 6max, win 10buy-ins = move up, lose 5buy-ins = move down.

  7. Re: Cash Game Challenge 4 Life I have to move on from this (zoom poker) to keep my sanity though it went well overall with $4k in 7weeks but right now it's a situation where i can't even value bet two Aces, it's almost impossible to get in KK pre-flop not out of choice but because people prefer to call the 4bet and try and hit a set with QQ or JJ. Will sum up how i ran the last 100k hands: last night i was finishing the session, was just fold fold fold the last few hands waiting to be sat out then i get dealt JJ and i'm like oh great going to get set under set. I was totally wrong. They hit a straight. Another losing session. Over that whole 195k hand sample i'm down money getting KK in preflop. Imagine playing in a world where you can't get KK in preflop. 8DQYH.png

  8. Re: Cash Game Challenge 4 Life Over the 200k mark now I7Xwe.jpg Had some pic upload problems, but it's 48k hands so far. Have gone back to using HEM2 as PT4 is too buggy lags my whole system lately,. Have been messing around with my HUD a lot, got more stats on there now then maybe ever before as i'm experimenting seeing if some stats are useful or not as needed to expand my game a bit as it felt like, playing abc, i was about to start losing, a lot. Looks like another 98k hands-ish till i hit 250k fpps. Y0WRy.png?2 edit: by the way how about this stat: in 170k hands i've played of Zoom, i'm down money getting KK in pre-flop. Up money getting in QQ fwiw.

  9. Re: what do you do here? If you call the pot is $6, first person to act has $1.40 (under 25% of pot), next guy has $2 (33%) so they're both hugely pot committed already. What i like about a turn call is on the river the first guy is likely to go all-in, the second guy then realises it's not much more to him to call for a big pot so calls not really thinking about you. Having said that though a raise putting them both all-in is probably better as you still get their action when they have a big hand and you get the extra money if one has the draw.

  10. Re: Lock Poker Sign Annette Obrestad

I don't know anything about Lock - just having a browse here: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/195/lock-poker/lock-ops-cancelled-1196966/ up to page 2. But the main question - why would any non American EVER play on a site that accepts Americans whilst the American government takes the position it does and aggressively pursues companies that service Americans?
Exactly, and what disturbs me most of all is the amount of online players being signed up as their pros to actively promote Lock poker. They have a lot of previously unknown Pros, who if and when Lock goes under (because it serves US players) these kids (who are in a no-win situation as it's very hard to turn down sponsorship) may have their reputations tarnished forever. FWIW i think signing up unknown online wizzkids is the future of online poker when (if) it gets regulated in the US and new sites start to open up. Forget Matusow, forget most of those guys who haven't done anything the last few years.
  11. Re: Rumour or not Stars buying Full Tilt Don't get why so many people are into these rumours, after-all they're just rumours and if it does go through what does it change, not as if there's untapped markets out there. I hope Stars take them over and get the players money back, until then, there's nothing to get excited about.

  12. Re: Cash Game Challenge 4 Life Closing in on the $4k bonus on PokerStars so may as well chart the progress in here until it's cleared. Need to clear another 75k fpps, hopefully will be done in 20days. Will be playing 4tables of 100nl zoom as usual, might take 6hrs/day not totally sure. I expect big swings hope to just break-even until then... let the fun begin... qxv587.jpg

  13. Re: Notecaddy + Other tools for playing online cash poker Seems like you have to purchase NC and then 'advanced' packages at extra cost to actually get the full benefit of the program. Have been playing around with NC and have watched videos on it and nothings convincing me its worth spending more money on it due to the complexity of it i don't think it's worth the time or cost just for a handful of extra useful stats.
