  1. Re: It's a Knockout!!!

Safin has overcome malisse in straight sets to set up tomorrow's 2nd round match against ferrer so to recap Tournament: Monte Carlo Masters Target: David Ferrer Match: Ferrer v Marat Safin (Wed 23rd 10am):sad6-2 6-3 Bet: Lay Ferrer @ 1.59 Stake: £10.53 (Liability £6.21) Having had a quick look at the h2h stats it seems Safin won the ony previous meeting in 3 sets but it was back in 2002 at estoril. The year to date records show safin has won 3 out of 10 so far this season while ferrer has won 16 out of 22. Think i maybe digging in this week to get the winners:lol
Looked a straight forward win for ferrer without too much battle from safin, can't say i'm surprised really. Anyway on to round 3 to recover lost stakes and achieve our profit target.:notworthy Tournament: Monte Carlo Masters Tennis 3rd Round Target: David Ferrer Next Match: Ferrer v Tipsarevic Bet: Lay Ferrer @ 1.4 Stake: £17.06 (Liability £6.82) the h2h stats on this one don't look good with ferrer winning their previous encounter in straight sets and only losing 3 games in the entire match. So as always :hope. Higgins resumes tomorrow in the snooker against day so should have a good idea how that one will be going too.

  3. Re: It's a Knockout!!!

GL with Higgins and Ferrer this week :ok
Cheers aldric, think i might need it this week.
I do like this system, the only problem I can see is if a 5th fav wins the tournament, and if the favourites get knocked out early. Surely the price will shoot down, and the amount you will have to lay on each bet will increase in order to maintain the target profit will shoot up. and if he/she then goes onto win the tournament :puke:sad Could this not mean the end? Wish you the best tho, and long continued success :ok:ok:ok
The 5th fav winning the tournament is always a possibility Scotty, as mentioned earlier in the thread by Hodgey. It will happen eventually and that could be the time to discuss further whether i need a insurance bet by backing the 5th fav outright in the beginning to soften the blow. Be interesting to see how many tournaments i can rack up before i do lose the lot though.:ok
  4. Re: It's a Knockout!!! Should know who ferrer will be playing in the next round of the monte carlo masters today when malisse and safin finally get on court. But for now details of my 2nd bet in the world snooker championships. Tournament: World Snooker Championships 2nd Round Target: John Higgins Match: Higgins v Ryan Day (Thurs 24th 7pm) Bet: Lay Higgins @ 1.69 Stake: £16.18 (Liability £11.16) to win profit target plus losses from 1st rd. If i'm honest i expect Higgins to come through this round as i believe he'll be too strong for day. But you never know, Day had a pretty solid match in the first round and if he plays to his best and gets a bit of luck, he could possibly pull it off.:notworthy:lol

  5. Re: It's a Knockout!!! While I wait for the snooker to resume I'm off to Monte Carlo to see if I can make a quick profit from the masters series tennis. Tournament: Monte Carlo Masters Series Tennis Target: David Ferrer Match: Ferrer v Safin/Malisse Ferrer has a bye for the first round but will face either safin or malisse in the next round. Ferrer won his last tournament in valencia, so hopefully last week's exertions will take it's toll and also he will meet Nadal on route to the final. So looks promising for achieving my profit on this one.

  6. Re: It's a Knockout!!! Sorry Scotty but as you say gotta roll with the system. I am quite wary actually of having higgins as the target coz he's a good player, has won it before and everything needed to win it again. Just got to hope one of the young pups pick him off along the way.

  7. Re: It's a Knockout!!!

Right on to tournament 5 for the week and a change of sport as i head off to the crucible for the snooker. My decision to hold fire on naming the target has paid off as we now have someone different after moving from 6th to 5th fav. Tournament 6: World Snooker Championships Target: John Higgins Match schedule: John Higgins v Matthew Stevens(19th Apr 10am) Bet: Lay Higgins @ 1.51:@ 10-5 Stake: £10.53 (Liability £5.37) Higgins is the fifth favourite and is avaliable at odds of 14.5 on betfair to win the tournament. Lets hope he doesn't pull it off.:hope
So Higgins survives a late rally by stevens to take the first round match 10-5 and also signifies an end to my run of first round winners this week. Higgins is now back in action on the Thursday the 24th and takes on either Ryan Day or Michael Judge, So i'll be looking to recoup the £5.37 in lost stakes from this round plus my £10 profit for the tournament. Stakes, odds and info to follow.:ok

  9. Re: It's a Knockout!!!

This is going really well so far turnlux, glad to see a nice tasty profit already. Will be interesting to see if such a simple system can actually prove profitable on the long run :hope
Cheers Scotty:clap I plan on giving this a good run, so like you say i can see if this will be profitable long term. I'm hoping it's simplicity will be the key. It will also be interesting to see how other sports stand up, like the snooker this weekend or whether it could be just a system used to profit on tennis.
  10. Re: Increase the bank by 1% every bet Fantastic set of results aldric:clap That is pretty impressive to achieve that sort of consistency. We all know that shorter odds selections have a better chance of winning, but just as much they have an equal chance of blowing up in our faces. Well done for picking thru the minefields of the dodgy ones. Good luck mate and long may it continue:beer Any ideas on how far your going to take it??

  11. Re: It's a Knockout!!!

Tournament 5: ATP US Clay Court Championships Target: Sam Querrey First Match: Querrey v Nicolas Massu (Mon 14th 5pm)7-5 4-6 4-6 Bet: Lay Querrey @ 1.82:nana:nana Stake: £10.53 (Liability £8.63)
That last one was too close to call but massu crossed the finishing line to give me a clean sweep of 5th fav's in the outright market to go out in the first round this week.:loon Overall Stats stand;- Start Bank: £100 Current Bank: £150 P/L: £50 With th tennis all finished for this week now i will be turning my attentions to the World Snooker Championships that start on Saturday. Early indications look to show that my target in this tournament will be Ding Junhui, who will open up his campaign against Marco Fu. Will leave the final selection till friday night as at the moment John Higgins is only half a tick behind in the outright market and any change in price could leave me with a false 5th fav in the outright market. So be back later with final selections, odds and stake for first round match.:ok
  12. Re: It's a Knockout!!! I did consider that myself aldric, and always check the h2h stats before the matches take place to get maybe an inkling which way it may go and querrey against massu as never happened before. So not even this can explain the contradiction in odds. It maybe as you say something to do with YTD records and overall prize money won which they look at. Who knows!!:ok As i type it's still nip and tuck in that match and even at this late stage could go either way.

  13. Re: It's a Knockout!!! Just had a look on betfair following aldric's query over how valid the 5th placed targets are and i noticed that the US Clay Court Championships markets do through up some strange contradictions.:\ For eg, my target is Sam Querrey for this tournament and in the outright market he is trading at 11.5 to win while his opponent tomorrow is trading at 32 to win, yet the match odds have querrey as underdog at 2.06 and massu at 1.9 and at 11.5 querrey is the outright 5th fav!!:unsure Someone once said betting is all about opinions. Im beginning to think they are right!:lol

  14. Re: It's a Knockout!!!

Good results :clap Were Cibulkova and Nieminen really 5th Favourites? Seems strange!
:$ I've just realised i missed something in the opening post which would of affected how you view nieminen as a fifth fav, although this wouldn't of affected the Cibulkova choice who was an outright 5th fav when i made my target pick. So will post it now to avoid any further confusion. If in the outright market there are more than 1 player rated as 5th favourite, the bottomed named player of this list will be the selected target. In essence you could argue that this doesn't qualify as an exact 5th fav if there is more than 1 player, but they all fall in to the range of odds directly below the top 4. So i usually go for the last named as the target. Another point i will make is that these picks are made on a late sunday evening if i'm pressed for time putting the bets on or early monday morning if i have a bit more time. But all are genuine 5th fav's at the time of writing. :ok Cheersfor the query aldric.
  15. Re: It's a Knockout!!!

I still can't get nothing for the WTA Estoril Open:( and so have decided to rule it out for good if i can't get anything later and it means i've missed the 5th seeds first match. But will confirm later. Good news on the family circle cup though..... Tournament 4: WTA Family Circle Cup Target: Dominika Cibulkova First Match: Cibulkova v Anastasia Rodionova (Tues 15th 4pm) Bet: Lay Cibulkova @ 1.8:nana:nana 4-6 0-1 Cibulkova retires. Stake: £10.53 (Liability £8.42):hope Be back later with some updates. (winning ones hopefully!!!);)
Very nice of cibulkova to retire after the first set had played which meant the bet was a winner. Fantastic start today all three first round targets were winners today, Hopefully querrey will oblige tomorrow for a clean sweep on the tennis. 3/4 £30 profit:loon Start Bank: £100 Current Bank: £140 P/L: £40 1 Target still open.
  16. Re: It's a Knockout!!!

Tournament 1: ATP Comunidad Valenciana Target: Igor Andreev First Match: Andreev v Evgeny Korolev (Mon 14th 11am) Bet: Lay Andreev @ 1.5:nana:nana4-6 6-4 6-7 Stake: £10.53 (Liability £5.27) Tournament 2: ATP Estoril Open Target: Jarkko Nieminen First Match: Nieminen v Denis Gremelmayr (Mon 14th 11am) Bet: Lay Nieminen @ 1.81:nana:nana 6-3 1-6 2-6 Stake: £10.53 (Liability £8.53)
Good start to the new week with 2/4 so far on the tennis. So already £20 up. Should know the destiny of the cibulkova result tonight as well with the querrey match kicking off tomorrow.

This turned out to be the case with the WTA Estoril Open, so i've decided to leave it well alone. Doesn't seem to be a lot of interest in outright winners of tournaments for womens tennis.:\ Also there has been some changes to the schedule of matches and the majority of them take place today with the querrey v massu game not till tomorrow. So as always will be back with some more results later.:ok

  19. Re: 100% Madness I was on 2+goals on this match tonight as well. Can't believe Madrid didn't pull it off either. Especially when that muppet robben was thru in the last minute of injury time. Still as you have said before, just got to try and look at it as numbers otherwise the mentality for those big winning bets won't come in. Best of luck Madnesstiger.
