  1. Re: League Positions Thanks for the interest lunatism:ok I have seen your thread,it makes interesting reading, long may it continue. You've hit the nail on the head with your summary. It's as simple as that. May take the difference in league positions in to account at some point in the future but just for now we will keep it simple. Be interested to see what your results show as think there could be potential in this but not quite sure. As we speak it's looking like a 50% strike rate at the mo. Hopefully the 2nd halves will change a few more in our favour.:hope

Re: League Positions Thanx Guys for the interest:ok No pressure then bunnychaser!!:lol I'm a big believer in stats myself grex, you only have to look at that fulham v everton game on sunday as a good example, So maybe somewhere along the line stats could maybe help narrow the selections down. This is just a little trend i noticed while watching livescores one day. As i say it's not based on any think ground breaking as you can see. But as grex said hopefully it's simplicity will be key. Another idea i did intially toy with was backing the lower league positioned side when playing at home if they were say within 5 places of the away side. So for eg on tonights games i might have done this:- Brescia(6) v Lecce(5) Back Brescia instead of laying them. This is not a system bet, just an example. Maybe worth monitoring over time and seeing if that works better.

  4. This is a system i want to paper trade based on backing or laying football teams depending on their league position. Have done no back testing at all hence the paper trading but just want to see if there is any mileage in it. Basically if the higher position league side is at home then we back, if the away side is the higher position side then we lay the home side. Is that clear?? If not you'll see as we go along. I will use mainly top leagues around europe. Bets will be made with betfair the morning of the games and the start bank will be 100 units (Paper trade only). Each bet will be level stakes of 10 points.   8. Not having much luck at the mo but i won't let that stop me!! Right here we go again then. Picks are taken from pro soccer website using their top rated selections on ice hockey, tennis, basketball and football. This should give me a max of 5 bets a day with odds ranging from 1.05 up to 4. Haven't decided on a proper staking plan for this just yet, so to start will be lumping the lot on short priced selections and then either doing fixed stakes on the riskier ones or a percentage of the bank. This is a glory hunt after all, so it would make sense to put the bank on all selections to start with and then maybe review if we build up a significant size. Any suggestions on the staking plan or otherwise would be very much appreciated. All bets are taken with betfair and p/l will be without commission.:ok Starting Bank for this is £100. First time i started with £40 and took 2 attempts at 1.25 and turned that into £100, withdrew and started a 2nd one with £20 with 5% target and 1 attempt at 1.05 and have now reached £60. :beer here's to our continued success

  18. Did this a little while ago but had to stop due to the fact the pc blew up. Anyway the system is this. All live games where the home team is between 1.39 and 2.68 are qualifiers. I am going to use the arbiter line as the staking plan. so 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9 starts us off with numbers at each end of the line being added together to make the stake. for eg 1-9 =10, so 1st bet = 10pts. All games and odds will be taken at betfair and the starting bank will be 100pts. First Match is:- MK Dons v Lincoln 10pts@ 1.46 with betfair Arb line stands at 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9 Doncaster v Huddersfield qualifies as bet 2. Unfortunately I'll be out but i'll still be able to put the bet on. so if bet 1 wins then stake for bet 2 is 11 pts but if it loses then stake is 10 pts still as arb line will look like this:- 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10=1+10=11pts if bet 1 wins 2-3-4-5-6-7-8=2+8=10pts if bet 1 loses.
