  1. The only obvious issue that I came across is that the goalkeeper who was on loan has been recalled but they do have a replacement. You pay your money and take your chance (or don’t). My bet was already on at the shorter price.
  2. Well I certainly know how to move a market. Marine have drifted alarmingly in the last hour and are now 7/4 on Betfair with a similar move with other firms. In fact Alfreton are almost favourites now. I guess I might be missing something as such a move is highly unusual at this level in such a short period of time unless there is something going on. Maybe best to give it a swerve for now
  3. Not surprised that Darran could only find three 1pt selections this weekend. There are a couple of solid very short price ones around but they don’t appeal as betting propositions My only tentative bet is to go with Marine again as they are still odds against with home advantage. As Darran quite rightly contributed during the week that Alfreton’s performances weren’t quite as bad as their results and they duly did the business against Leamington. But Marine have found their feet in this division and they are on a roll with form figures of 8-1-1 .Confidence must be high in the camp so I’ll stick with them until the run out steam. Marine 11/10 1pt
  4. Woking v Halifax i think Halifax fans are dismayed and confused over tonight’s line up with a couple of unexpected injuries I’ll take a chance on Woking as Halifax have had a couple of surprise defeats recently Woking 2/1 1pt
  5. Alfreton v Leamington Not much appeals from a handful of midweek fixtures this week. Alfreton thwarted one of my bets last week when they held Darlington to a draw but it was back to business at the weekend . The home side are now 0-3-7 from their last 10. I think Leamington have a better chance of taking all 3 pts than was the case with Darlington ( with hindsight) and the opening offers on Betfair of 5/2 was too big for me to refuse. The visitors are capable of cocking it up but at least winning is no distant memory unlike the home side. They have had close games with a few promotion/play off candidates but have beaten teams they would expect to win against although not so good results against Scarborough and Needham back in February makes me slightly cautious. But it’s all about the price. Leamington 5/2 2pts.
  6. Gateshead v Tamworth Gateshead’s poor run continues with no win in six and four losses on the bounce. My favoured bet in this would be to lay the home team but the price isn’t quite there on the exchanges. But the odds on an away win has its attractions to small stakes so that is what I have gone for. Tamworth are unbeaten in six although their victories were against teams towards the bottom of the league Tamworth 5/2 1pt Hartlepool v Boston Another team from the north east on a poor run with no win in eight. Boston are doing well lately. I only tend to lay teams when they are odds on so a small punt on an away team is the way to go. Boston 11/4 1pt Marine v Peterborough S Marine are the new Arsenal. They like a 1-0. Peterborough aren’t doing too bad but following Marine has been extremely lucrative for me in recent weeks and the price encourages me to go in once again as a bit of 7/4 was on offer on the exchanges Marine 7/4 1pt Hemel Hempstead look interesting @ 5/6 and I might include them in a treble with Kidderminster and Worthing. All in good form against struggling sides. pays 11/4
  7. Fylde v Sutton Sutton are displaying mid table mediocrity and their only win in the last eight was at Maidenhead. Whilst we cannot rely on Fylde for consistency I am happy to take 3/1 at home in their battle against relegation . They have thrown in a few good results with wins against Halifax, Altrincham and Hartlepool in recent weeks along with a few stinkers. Fylde 3/1. 1pt Maidenhead v Aldershot Not much between them in the table but based on recent form Aldershot figures just seem far better winning four of their last six whereas Maidenhead have lost four during the same period Aldershot 7/5 1pt Alfreton v Darlington Alfreton’s results are extremely uninspiring .Two draws against teams who face relegation (Warrington + Oxford) and seven defeats in their last nine. Darlington perhaps not the most reliable but their price just seem too big given the oppositions dire performances Darlington 2/1 2pts Welling v Hemel Hempstead Those of us following HH recent revival will hope Saturdays defeat was only a blip and I believe so as it was against Worthing who are top of the recent form tables. So a game against Welling, (W 0 - D 3 - L 5) should get them back on track. Hemel Hempstead 7/4 3pts
