  1. Did you not see France's 2nd goal? He also had a hand in the 1st goal. England did a good job to corral him but he was a menace vs Morocco. I don't disagree, Argentine defenders will have their hands full.
  2. We've seen in tournaments past that surprise outfits eventually run out of gas at the semi final hurdle: Bulgaria '94, Croatia '98, South Korea '02, Uruguay '10. The only real surprise package to win a major tournament was really Greece in 2004. They should have lost their semi to the Czechs who were really all over them early on. I can't see past France here. They're experienced and offer more of an ability to breakdown this type of opposition than the Spaniards or Portuguese. Though I was in shock Portugal couldn't find a way past. To be fair they had some misfortune. With Giroud on form, the threat of Mbappe, the quality that Griezemann is offering, they should surely breach this Moroccan fortress. France's backline did look vulnerable at times vs England which is a worry but can Morocco put that kind of pressure on them aside from the odd counter. Also Roman Saiss the key central defender for Morocco suffered an injury vs Portugal. France to win to nil @2.10
  3. Dallas/NYG Under 45.5 An NFC East matchup for Thanksgiving day. The Cowboys fresh off destroying Minnesota last week while the Giants stumbled vs the Lions at home. The Giants will be missing 4 Olinemen, which doesn't bode well vs the best pass rush in the NFL. The Giants have played game close to the vest most of the year, and they will try and do the same here. I can't see them moving ball consistently with a depleted OLine. At the same time the Giants have played solid D, a bend but don't break unit. The Cowboys should be able to establish the run, whcihc means the clock will be running most of the afternoon. The offense will realize the Giants will be smothered defensively and they won't open up the playbook in this case.
  4. Germany are up to 26.00 and Belgium 23.00, which seem rather tasty to me. Germany are in a difficult spot, almost needing a win vs Spain. If it comes down to it, they may need to rely on goal difference. Luckily they plat Costa Rica on the final matchday. Belgium meanwhile were played off the park by Canada. I think they were surprised with the Canadian speed. Canada will give many teams problems. They have the best keeper in the tournament, the best playmaker. Now if they can get a striker to get on a roll like Michy or eventually Lukaku.
  5. Uruguay/South Korea Draw @3.60 Uruguay in the World Cup always tends to be a cagey affair. This is a rematch from the R16 back in South Africa won 2-1 by Uruguay with a late stunner from Suarez. Amazingly several of Uruguay's players from that match may start tomorrow with Muslera, Caceres, Godin and Suarez. Uruguay have a strong squad from top to bottom. Experienced defenders along with a strong workman like midfield. The midfield does lack diversity, Bentancur, Valverder and Vecino are similar players. Can they carve out enough creativity from an ageing Suarez and De la Cruz? South Korea meanwhile have quality down the middle of defense with Kim Min-Jae who has outperformed the departed Koulibaly at Napoli. Son is always capable of something especially in a tournament where you only need a few moments of quality. Both teams will play this close to the vest, Uruguay typically understand how to navigate these groups. They will want to put themselves in a position to progress vs Ghana on matchday 3. South Korea will also be content with a draw, knowing they could put themselves in a prime position with a win vs Ghana.
  6. I agree, not so much with Portugal/Ghana as I don't rate the Black stars. Brazil/Serbia will be an in game bet for me since I don't know what to expect from the Serbs, loads of quality but always disjointed when it comes to the big tournaments. Uruguay/South Korea definitely.
  7. Switzerland/Cameroon Draw @3.40 The draws have begun to come in the tournament. Switzerland are squad that draw many matches in the big tournaments. They have a solid compact squad and frustrated Italy twice in qualifying. They will rely again on Embolo and Shaqiri. Freuler and Xhaka provide stability to the midfield. The Swiss will be lery of Cameroon's pace and physicality. Anguissa has been one of the top midfielders in Serie A with Napoli. Onana is arguably the best keeper Cameroon has ever fielded, Choupo-Moting has been bagging goals for fun with Bayern. Like any draw, you need either team capable of cancelling out the other. I see this being the case in what figures to be a tense opener.
  8. This is very much looking like 2002. It was not only South Korea, but a decent Turkish side that made the semis as well along with arguably the poorest German side in recent memory. Perhaps the environment is the reason. This is essentially the only WC outside of Korea/Japan to be played in the Orient. I suspected squads like Germany, who mainly comprise of Bayern players would have a major advantage essentially playing in the middle of their season with little preparation.
  9. I can see Canada getting something from this. Belgium typically start slow, their defense will be quite surprised with speed of the Canadian attack with Davies-David-Buchanan. However the Belgian attack will probably be too much for a shaky Canadian defense. BTTS and Belgium win @3.10 with bet365
  10. Germany -1.25 @1.94 Germany HT/FT @ 2.10 The Germans typically begin tournaments strong. The 2018 WC being somewhat of an exception, though the hunger was lacking from the 2014 victory. This squad boasts a plethora of attacking options like Musiala, Gnabry, Havertz and the savvy Muller. Half of the starting lineup play together at Bayern, while Sule was a Bayern player for several years and is familiar with his teammates. The squad was a little stale at last season's Euros. But much of the squad in excellent form with their clubs like Musiala, Hofman and Gnabry. The Japanese have a decent side capable of stringing quality passes together. They're an ageing side, and I wonder how ther likes of Nagatamo will be able to handle Musiala and Gnabry.
