  1. Ready to jump back in today current record Totals 0-3 (-16) Match 3-5 (-21.97) Overall 3-8 (-37.97) Philadelphia Phillies to beat Miami Marlins 5pts @ 1.74 sky I am a massive Josh Johnson fan but when a guy is coming back from surgery it often takes a while to be fully functional in regards to pitch location and i feel he is opposable for the first half and while the phillies offense worries me the ultra consistent roy halladay takes the mound tonight and i fancy the phillies to take the W tonight Texas (-1.5) to beat Seattle 6pts @ 1.97 betfair Not a classic pitching matchup with Colby Lewis squaring off against Kevin Millwood, neither of these are guys I want to invest cash in often, however the Rangers are an offensive juggernaut and should put some runs up against Millwood who has only faced them once in recent seasons losing that start with a 9.00 ERA and is at best a league average pitcher. Seattle have an anaemic offense and struggle to score on anyone so I envisage a comfortable victory for Texas here LA Angels (-1.5) to beat Minnesota Twins @ 2.05 BetVictor Jered Weaver continued his form of last season in the opener not giving up any earned runs despite not earning the win, after the disappointing opening series against KC the Angels move on to play the lowly twins, another suffering franchise who have yet to taste victory starting the year 0-4. The Angels are not the team you want up in that circumstance. Pavano was shaky in the opener and despite winning 2 of four in the last three years (4.55 ERA) against the Angels, these Angels are a different team and have to prove they can live up to their billing and can feast on Minnesota and score some runs good luck all
Well texas and the angels both lose two run leads late to ruin a promising evening. It is quite clear that 3b is a position with serious issues for the angels whether callaspo or trumbo. Will cost them sone runs that could be key in a tight race with texas Totals 0-3 (-16) Match 4-7 (28.27) Overall 4-10 (-44.27) Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2

  3. Season record 3-7 (-29.97) Totals 0-3 (-16) Match 3-4 (-13.97) gotta get this staking plan sorted lol, come on philly! (sorry AGurv)
Well just to complete the horrific start to the year the wild pitch that scored the tying run leading to estras and a phillies loss lol Totals 0-3 (-16) Match 3-5 (-21.97) Overall 3-8 (-37.97) Could be a long road back from here sigh Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk

Toronto to beat cleveland 3pts @ 1.91 stan james:nana Brandon morrow has promised much in his career, he has all the tools for success without ever seeming able to do it on the mound. I am all in on him this year (bet him for al cy young) and its his last chance to put it together with me. Am not convinced ubaldo jiminez is consistent enough and greatly prefer torontos lineup top to bottom Los angeles angels to beat kansas city royals 10pts @ 1.50 :wall The royals cant pitch can they? Bruce chen last night and luke hochevar tonight. Sending dan haren to the mound the angels have so much the better of this matchup its embarrassing. Max bet Sf giants to beat arizona 7pts @ 2.10 :wall Madison bumgarner is the other pitcher i love. He is spoken about the least of the giants rotation but has been dealing all spring and carries my nl cy young money. I think he has a huge year this year and while it pains me to oppose daniel hudson i will be on bumgarner against virtually anyone this year Philadelphia to beat pittsburgh 8pts @ 1.63 Another embarrassing matchup as the phillies with their pitching rich rotation will not need to score many as cliff lee takes the mound. Jeff karstens is a poor excuse for a second starter and we can see why the likes of the bucs and royals perenially struggle as pitching wins championships Good luck to all

  5. Ok. If we must. In my experience guys can produce for one season. Its called a fluke. None of the pittsburgh starters have produced at a high enough level of consistency for me to want to consider backing their starts. If karstens is sub 3.50 this season at the break i may start to follow. The basis of my pick is cliff lee and that appears to be what you are debating. Karstens is a career relief pitcher (otherwise known as a failed starter) his era is over 4.5 for his career. He may have got it figured out now. He may not. Either way you can buy him now, i prefer to wait a while. Was at work when writing the preview so did not have time to write the full preview that while the phillies have issues with age, health and declining ability at the plate and a pen that i am not sold on i have absolute confidence in lee. I disagree that it can be definitively said that either one of us is right. Opinions, interpretation of numbers and different perspective is all part of what makes this game great Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk

  6. Never said i consider 3.3 a bad era my friend. Do you consider karstens to be better than lee? I think its fairly obvious that our perspectives disagree from previous comments made in this and in the futures thread. I suggest we leave it at that and stop clogging up a thread ;) Best of luck with your bets

  7. That is your opinion and you are welcome to it. My own perspective is the most exciting thing about pittsburgh are mccutcheon and alvarez and they have no pitcher that i view as reliable to carry my cash at this stage. It is also arguable that excellent defense has helped make average pitchers appear better. I am all about pitching and if in this matchup you are seriously trying to make a case for karstens against the top drawer and ultra consistent cliff lee tjen i am afraid i fail to see where you are coming from. I take lee here on virtually every conceivable scenario Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk

St louis v milwaukee under 7.5 runs 3pts@ 1.83 This is a bet based on home plate umpire who has a reasonably generous strike zobe which will benefit the effectively wild yovani gallardo and jaime garcis who is adequate on the mound. Been researching my umpires so lets hope Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
This bet and the white sox bet are losers taking season at this point to 0-3 - 17 points totals 0-2 (-13pts) match 0-1 (-4pts) still teh angels, dodgers and giants games to run :hope:hope:hope
  11. Re: MLB: April 6th 2012 Picks san francisco to beat arizona 3pts @ 2.00 sky 3pts under 7 total runs @ 2.00 sky Tim Lincecum the freak is on the mound for the Giants and while he was not his usual freakish self last season he still put up reasonable numbers with poor run support and has apparently taken on a better off season workout schedule which should see him ready for the season squaring off against the reigning division champion Dbacks and Ian Kennedy who had an excellent year last year, I am a great believer in a player having to prove themselves for a second year and Kennedy has to do it all again this year to make me a believer and I will take the Giants in what should be a closely fought low scoring affair. Los Angeles dodgers to beat San Diego Padres 2pts @ 2.15 sky I really like Billingsley as a pitcher and the Dodgers are a team with some talent throughout with the likes of Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier anchoring the lineup, The Padres are a team rebuilding and Corey Luebke is a prospect with only 20 career starts pitching tonight and I would rather take a reasonably proven entity in teh Dodgers, nearly left this game alone but decided to play it small

  14. Chicago whitesox to beat texas rangers John danks is a solid starting pitcher who was much better than his record last season. The sox will need adam dunn to hit this year to have any hopes of being competitive as well as rebound years from the likes of alex rios. The two time defending al champ texas rangers look loaded for bear again this year and will be strong. Colby Lewis is not my favourite of their rotation and a link in the chain that you can attack. If the sox hit like they have this spring and get a solid performance from danks they can get off to a solid start and win here. 4 pts @ 2.75 bet365 Los angeles angels to beat kansas city royals We all know what the angels did in the offseason adding big albert and cj wilson. This match however comes down to one simple fact. Jered Weaver is an excellent pitcher. Bruce Chen is not. I see no scenario where the angels lose this game. 10 points @ 1.50 ladbrokes Season record 0-1 -10pts

  15. Re: MLB: April 4th Picks I am playing the over 7 runs in the game at 10/11 as the word is that in the exhibition games played at this stadium when the roof was open the ball was absolutely flying and I am not a big fan of Lohse and Johnson could be wild too. Both these teams can hit and 7 looks too low 10 pts over 7 runs @10/11
