  1. Re: MLB Outright Betting 2015 Season last one 2 pts Doug Fister - most pitcher wins 26.00 Coral This is probably the better bet compared with the above. Fister will be at the back end of the rotation as 4/5 starter after Scherzer, Strasburg and Zimmermann. On most teams he would be a no.2 pitcher at worst and will therefore oppose weaker pitching opponents. If the Nats are as good as their odds suggest they could be then this is a large price on a talented pitcher at the back end of a stacked rotation BRING ON THE SEASON good luck to all who play

  2. Re: MLB Outright Betting 2015 Season I will address all the other "novelty" markets in this post 2 pts Stephen Strasburg to record the most strikeouts in baseball this season 12.00 Paddy Power 3 pts Max Scherzer to record the most strikeouts in MLB this season 8.50 William Hill 1 pts David Price to record most strikeouts in MLB this season 15.00 Paddy Power Taking a pair of Nationals in this market. The Scherzer selection is simple, he was 3rd in K's last season and moves from the AL to the easier NL as he gets to face the pitcher each time through the lineup so really should increase his number from last season and is facing hitters who havent seen him as much as their AL counterparts. Strasburg is sick - he has an awesome curveball and his stuff is dirty, he is easily the best no.3 starter in MLB, he was also top 10 in strikeouts last year and will give us a run fr our cash. David Price was the leader in this market last year so make what you will of that price (no pun intended) so am going to put the Detroit Tiger in as a fallback option. American League Cy Young Award Winner 1 pts Chris Sale - 9.00 William Hill I am concerned with Felix Hernandez coming into this year and Chris Sale is a pitcher who is always in the Cy Young award conversation, an improved year from my White Sox could be enough for hi to take this award down as he registers decent numbers statistically across the board. I couldnt put anybody off David Price as an alternative and he has won it before, most of the pitchers I was looking at as value in this market have huge red flags on an injury front so am not going to get involved with the likes of Masahiro Tanaka or Drew Smylly. National League MVP 1 pts Kris Bryant 50/1 Paddy Power 1 pts Yasiel Puig 18/1 Paddy Power 2 pts Andrew McCutcheon 6/1 Paddy Power I am all in on Kris Bryant, cant really say any more, rookie of the year and MVP has been done so this wouldnt set a precedent and this kid is talented enough. Yasiel Puig is a live outsider as he can do things a lot of players cant and is a player who if he remains focussed could easily challenge for MVP honours on what is likely a hugely successful Dodgers team. Andrew McCutcheon is a great player defensively and offensively, if the Pirates are going to have a good season a lot of it will be to do with this guy and he will be in the conversation. Giancarlo is favourite for this market, I just have a niggling doubt about him this season so will take him on with these three. NL Cy Young 1 pts Doug Fister 40/1 various bookmakers This is an insulting price for the forgotten man of the Nationals five, there is no reason for him to be 4 times the price of his counterparts in the Nats rotation. Clay Kershaw is obviously the likeliest winner of this award and as I cant find a bookmaker quoting a price on Kyle Hendricks for the Cy Young award then I am happy to roll with Fister - I cannot find words to express how overpriced he is in this market

  3. Re: MLB Outright Betting 2015 Season ok, as the season is a matter of days away it is time to return to this thread and round out the portfolio I will not be putting any more outrights up for the forseeable, though I was tempted with the Dodgers, who I believe are the best all round team in MLB and the Pirates, but I just cant bring myself to invest in that rotation (The Vance Worley hate coming out again) and to be honest anyone who followed with the early ones is in a reasonably strong position as both the Red Sox and Cubs have halved in price before a pitch has been hurled. To hit the most Home Runs this season Now, backing Giancarlo Stanton is a lot of fun in this market as he hits a lot of long balls and he hits them a long long way. At 6/1 there is little to no value at all, I have backed him every season he has been in the big leagues to hit the most long balls and have yet to pick up a penny (Though I am convinced he overhauls Nelson Cruz last year if he doesnt take that pitch to the face) and it remains to be seen how well he is psychologically after taking a pitch that literally smashed his face. Now. I am gutted that nobody bets on rookie of the year, I mentioned to Samba Sampa in early November that I wanted to back Kris Bryant of the Chicago Cubs for NL rookie of the year, nobody puts the market up, that said, I am going to play him in this market as he has incredible power as has been on show in Spring Training. Now before anyone jumps on here to tell me he has been sent to the minor leagues, I am aware of this fact and also aware that he gains an extra year of club control after 9 games of the season at which point I am certain he will join the big league club. betting a rookie is always a risk in this market (Giancarlo finished 5th his rookie year at 50/1 for example back when he was Mike) but I m willing to take a punt on Bryant at 33/1 over 153 games of a season. Mark Trumbo will strike out or hit it out in the main, he is an injury risk having missed most of last season after joining the Diamondbacks, he has a hell of a lot of power and is a great fit for the stadium in Arizona - the main risks with this selection are injury and the possibility of a trade at some point down the line as the Diamondbacks seem to have a surplus of corner infielders and Trumbo is a definite trade candidate which would potentially throw a spanner in the works dependent on where he was traded to of course. Bryce Harper and his power have been no secret since he was hitting 500 ft home runs as a 14 year old and gracing the front cover of major sport publications. If he stays healthy and reemerges from something of a slump last season then he has to be considered value at the price available. Jose Bautista has led the majors in home runs twice in recent seasons and has plenty of protection in the lineup around him in Edwin Encarnacion and the newly acquired Josh Donaldson and again wit the caveat of health could be a major player at a decent price in this market as he has missed time in the last couple of years. George Springer played 78 times in his rookie season for the Houston Astros last season........he hit 20 home runs in less than half a season - Nelson Cruz ed MLB last year with 40 home runs - do the math, it is perfectly reasonable to expect improvement from Springer as well, I think he is a knocking bet and the best value out there for an improving team that has enough lineup protection and enough upside that we could cash nicely here with him as a main selection and the other 4 as backup in what is in effect a novelty market 1 pt Jose Bautista to lead MLB in Home Runs 22/1 Paddy Power 1 pts Bryce Harper to lead MLB in Home Runs 40/1 BetVictor 1 pts Kris Bryant to lead MLB in Home Runs 40/1 William Hill 1 pts Mark Trumbo to lead MLB in Home Runs 33/1 Coral 2 pts George Springer to lead MLB in Home Runs 40/1 William Hill

If what staff2015 claims to be fact actually was true then virtual football would be illegal, and it isnt. people fail to realise how heavily regulated the gambling industry is to ensure that it is operated fairly

  8. Re: Arsenal v AS Monaco > Wednesday February 25th

Arsenal is not as strong in offense as some of their fans believe they are. They ve always struggled against good defensive Teams, examples from this season are Southampton (Arsenal scored 1 in 2 games), Chelsea (lost 0:2) or Man United (scored 1 in 95. min). And dont tell me these Prem League games have nothing to do with today, because they just show that Arsenal has a real problem creating chances and scoring against teams that defend well like tonights opponent does. Think the under 2,5 is a pretty safe bet and the odds are great. I ll also have a small punt on 0-0 @9
This post loses all credibility when you refer to manchester united as a good defensive team
  9. Re: Ante-Post > Championship Promotion 2014/15 I am a watford fan. I agree the prices are wrong but (and i hope i am wrong) we wont get promoted. We lack consistency. We havent really strung a run of good performances together all season. Heads drop quite quick when things go wrong and we cannot beat the teams at the top of the table (except brentford) I bet us last week again at 14/1 as it isny the 3 horse race the bookies had it priced up as at that point but we were lame as f*ck against norwich and a brave bet. That said it is close and if they can find some consistency. I believe the Ighalo and Deeney combination to be the best forward line in the division and the team does score goals. Hope that helps!

  10. Re: one bet to 10k And this weeks offering is in Leg 1 Watford to win the Championship 15.00 Leg 2 Doncaster to be promoted fron League One 15.00 Leg 3 Los Angeles Dodgers to win World Series 9.00 £20 free bet @ 2025.00 pays £40480.00

  11. Re: NBA Regular Season matches 2014/15 New Orleans Pelicans (-2.5) to beat Indiana Pacers 1.91 Paddy Power Golden State @ Minnesota Under 218 pts 1.91 William Hill Dallas Mavericks (-4.5) to beat Utah Jazz 1.91 Stan James Portland Trailblazers (-13.5) to beat LA Lakers 1.91 Ladbrokes play 1 pt on each, typical the main play loses last night, if i was playing a double tonight, I could be tempted by Portland and the under but wont bother :)

  12. Re: NBA Regular Season matches 2014/15 you wont find me in here often as NBA is not my strongest suit but fancy a few tonight Sacramento @ Chicago - 6 pts Over 196 pts 1.91 Stan James Unless I have missed a key injury somewhere, I had this line more like 198-199 so we are getting a spot of value 2 pts treble @ 6.97 Stan James Sacramento @ Chicago Over 196 pts 1.91 Houston @ Phoenix Over 216 pts 1.91 Denver @ LA Lakers Over 201.5 1.91 Impossible to see anything but points in the Houston game and Denver LA, I slightly favour the Lakers myself (I cant believe I am saying that either) but fancy a few points, thats a potential OT game too good luck if you play tonight
