Hmmh. Don't take this as anything other than constructive criticism, but 'should have won but didn't' is surely a negative against the team, not a positive? Depends on the other team as a defensive unit, I suppose. I have seen lots of success with the ELO, but sometimes it is way off and I have wondered what factors were not factored in. another thing I think is important is free kicks in promising positions. There are heat maps that show the positions of free kicks in a given game. I'm willing to help out with noting the more obscure stats, etc. Like, quite willing to go and camp outside Haaland's house the night before a match with some binoculars to see if he is getting any hanky panky or keeping his powder dry. That sort of thing.

Nice. This is great. Surely goals should be worth many more points that a shot on target? Or those should be less? If a goal is 5, maybe it should be 6 and a shot on target should be 3? Did you try and calibrate this system using different point calculations? What about taking other things into consideration? Special considerations? i.e. team tiredness, neutral venues, etc etc? There's loads of special considerations.

For what it's worth my system has a couple of the FA Cup games today as beatings for a team, so coupled with @Darran's success rate his Reading -2 looks likely, even on the EH.
