  1. Liverpool (1) Bayer Leverkusen (1) 20pts double
  2. Leicester v Birmingham (1) 1.33 Portsmouth v Shrewsbury (1) 1.36 £10 double.
  3. Yeah, only the one bookmaker (Coral) while I’m just testing it out. If I keep it up (I probably will, I quite enjoy having something on Cas v Salford, for example) then I will go for best price.
  4. Salford look an okay opportunity on the handicap depending on how they’re going with injuries. Gone for Hanley (2.62) and French (2.2) tonight.
  5. Originally, no. I was pretty new to Dutching but yes, it’s now to get the same return. Naively, I was just working out a profit and going from there but I’ve begun using a calculator to get the same return now. As for hitting the double, just twice so far from thirteen games but I’ve had a winner in but it’s just mug punting so far and there’s no calculations behind my selections. I’ve only had 3/13 games with no winner at all, two of which were cup games (Hudds v Hull and Warrington v London). Fullbacks and centres (7/11 winners) have been the most successful position for me, with Bevan French x2 and wingers Joe Burgess and Josh Simm the other winners. I’ve gone for Paul Vaughan a couple of times, wishful thinking on that part, I should really look at the backrow options instead of props. ROI is 13.52% so far, which I’m reasonably happy about for something I’ve done for two weeks. Esan Marsters (1.91) and Tui Lolohea (2.37) the picks for Huddersfield at London.
  6. £0.39 profit from 22 bets so far Dutching anytime tryscorers. Had a nightmare of a week last week in the cup but Josh Simm (2.75) and Joe Burgess (1.73) have started this week off a little better. Mark Percival (3.75) and Bevan French (3.00) up next.
  7. Wigan at odds against is mental. I say that as a Saints fan, as well.
  8. Chesterfield, Scarborough and Chatham Town. 1.7/1.
  9. Salford v HKR: Evalds, MacDonald. Wigan v Sheffield: Hill, Leeming. Leeds v Saints: Newman, Welsby.
  10. Tedesco and Johnston for me tomorrow. Have dutched the pair of them, so profit as long as one scores. The anytime odds for Wigan on SkyBet are appalling. Hopefully others don’t follow suit.
  11. Not a lot there in the Cup, for me. Ill Dutch a few of the games on the day when they finally release the odds and when matchday squads are released. I have a feeling Wigan may rest one or two of the big hitters for Sheffield but most will play. From a Saints perspective, there’s been a persistent rumour this week that Lewis Dodd is injured, despite being named in the twenty-one man squad. If the rumours are true, Saints will be without Mark Percival, Tommy Makinson and Lewis Dodd, three of their usual backline, though Curtis Sironen is back in the pack this week. I said that they would win one of two of these games against Leeds, so I’m not confident for tomorrow night. As for the NRL, it’s so tough. There’s a lot of close games there. I certainly wouldn’t rule out Melbourne either.
  12. Following this thread and Dutching, it piqued my interest in that method with tryscorers, so I’ve started doing it with extremely small stakes to see if there’s anything in it and whether I could possibly be profitable over the course of a season. So far it’s gone as follows: Salford Red Devils v Wigan Warriors Bevan French - £0.15 @ 1.91 - Win Jake Wardle - £0.10 @ 3.25 - Win Leeds Rhinos v St Helens Ash Handley - £0.13 @ £2.25 - Loss Jack Welsby - £0.12 @ 2.75 - Loss Catalans Dragons v Castleford Tigers Arthur Mourgue - £0.12 @ 2.62 - Win Matthieu Laguerre - £0.15 @ 1.91 - Win London Broncos v Warrington Wolves Matt Dufty - £0.19 @ 1.61 - Win Paul Vaughan - £0.10 @ 3.75 - Will stay at low stakes and may get a bit more experimental with selections, I do like a back rower to score, so will look at odds.
  13. Warrington are a given on the cap. I’ll be having a play on that.
  14. Got on the overs market on Betfair. Gone for Over 46.5 pts in this Broncos - Wigan game at 1.96. 32pts at the break, should be another 17+ in the second.
  15. Arsenal v Brentford - O2.5 Goals @ 1.40 Stockport County (1) £10 double.
  16. Initial thoughts on Super League: - Moving quickly on Leeds -1.5 could be a wise move given Leigh will be without Edwin Ipape, John Asiata and Tom Briscoe, who are their key players, though do have Tom Amone back. - Wigan -23.5 is probably a given. On a dry track (at the minute) and a well maintained pitch, they should rack up a score against London, who did put in a spirited performance at Hull.
  17. Had a small play on Bolton in the end. I’ve a very basic strategy for Over 2.5 Goals in Scottish L1 and L2 and the game I’d identified didn’t have the odds to match, which was good fortune as it ended 1-1 anyway.
  18. Not a lot there on the handicap for me. You would expect Hull FC to beat London but I don’t feel confident in anything Hull FC do. There may be a bit of value in Huddersfield at 7/2 after Wigan’s WCC win. There can be a bit of a hangover from those games.
  19. I’m off to Kempton tomorrow, so will keep an eye on these. Horses isn’t my game, so it’ll be small bets for me.
  20. I fancy Catalans -20.5 at 10/11. While the Broncos were spirited at Saints at times, they were carved open quite easily and in drier conditions than Friday, I suspect 21 or more will be within Catalans’ reach with relative ease.
