I just posted my last 4 months accounts for lucky 15/31 (see somewhere above or previous pages), last year i did a month the year before i did a month. I agree with your 3 basic types of punter angle. the problem with Micheals angle in my opinion it seems to, by enlarge exclude the punter and the selection, his "projections" are based on data eg "expect to get one up every 20 years type of thing". When in effect its a mixture of both I do my own speed figures, those horses pick themselves but there are never or rarely enough pattern races to get the lucky 15ย  purely on speed figures so i have to wing it with my experience when choosing most of my selections, i generally know which the fastest horse is in most races but the handicap buggers them up at lower levels as do iffy trainers so as we know the best horse gets beat far too regularly, so i take a view based on price mainly or value if you prefer, if my presumption that horse A) is the fastest in the race and its price is say 10/1 its a no brainer whereas if it is fav i avoid it more often than not and look for another race that's why you see so many bigger prices in my accounts, if i can line even just 2 up its good money 3 is very good and all four is the biggie bonus. one thing i will say is it is the shorter odds that tend let me down pound for pound there is nothing more irksome than 3 winners at 20/1 12/1 10/1 and a say a 5/2 loser. Sometimes i will do a lucky 63 small stakes then take the best 5 and do a lucky 31 to double the stakes of the L63 and then take the best 4 to double the stakes of the L31and this i base on how strong or weak i feel the bet is, Notice 2 days ago i had 3 on the lucky 63 and the same 3 on the lucky 31 also (not published) the same 3 on a L15 I actually cashed out (very rare for me) the Lucky 63. Miss Mai Tai the last leg on all 3 bets was backed into fav from 5/1 and came plumb fookin last costing me a few grand.

You obviously need to have a lot of data to draw a clear conclusion. If you were doing just one a day you'd effectively need years worth rather than months. My concern with your approach is that you're forcing the pace too much to gather more data and that's undermining the quality of the selections. I suppose what I'm getting at is that it feels like you're placing too many per day to have an expectation of making good selections. You might be better doing one or two per day and including other people's in your analysis.
My view from the purely theoretical angle is that the benefit of the L15 with the double or treble the odds offer is clear so it's obviously worth taking advantage if you can get them on. What I wouldn't necessarily do is back too many selections that you wouldn't have otherwise backed but for the purpose of this experiment.

First of a few. I'm posting quite a lot because I'm trying to build up a fair bit of data so that I can see how effective these L15s are for me.
