Catterick 5.10
Merry Banter
Well handicapped but needs to be as she hasnt won for 597 days. Has a 13% strike rate but on good going this increases to 40%. Has form figures of 312 over 5f at Catterick and is drawn in stall 1. 9/10 winners of this race have been drawn 5 or lower and all these winners have been under 10/1. Merry Banter is currently 5/1 (RP forecast is at 10/1 though)
Should run a good race and it's interesting to note that the trainer puts up Catterick's top jockey in Paul Mulrennan instead of the apprentice that rode her last time.
5/1Windsor 6.20
Taking on the likely favourite Silent Echo and Little Palaver with Cartographer who is well handicapped
and one of just few won have won on the ground (g/s) and over the distance. Silent echo has done neither. Sitting in stall four is a plus at Windsor over 6f on g/s or soft ground. Hopefully Harry and Meghan will be on to pay for their honeymoon.
8/1Windsor 7.50
Andok hasnt won since his 2yo days so is over due. Last of five on his seasonal debut should keep his price
at around the 10/1 mark but his form late last year gives him a chance and he also won't mind if the ground dries up a little. Richard Fahey has a good strike rate here and is in good form.
9/1
Towcester 6.30
Nikki Steel
Backed him lto when he should've won but a mistake at the last cost him the race. Consolation in this race as his rating
has not gone up. 7/4 but hope of a drift in the market -

It's okay @BillyHills, I also banged some on Bet365 and Corals too. Surprised it drifted so much though.

Leopardstown 16:15
Surrounding
Reappears on a stiff mark which should keep her SP up, she meets decent ground again if the rain stays away and she saves
her best for these conditions. Michael Halford talked of her reaching listed status last season so a rating of 95 should not be beyond her. She has contested some hot races in her short career and although second, she beat 25 others home in the Irish Cambridgeshire. Surrounding seems to be ultra consistent, never finishing out of the top four so a good run for your money is assured. Lightly raced so far there maybe some improvement to come.
Currently 10/1 with PP -
Warwick 7.30
Cultivator
Seems to have been waited with for the better ground and has won on a couple of occasions after a break.
The return to hurdling and a few pounds from the handicapper might get him back in the winners enclosure. Henderson is in very good form with 12 winners out of 44 runners in the last 21 day (27%) and had figures of 4/9 at Warwick last season 6/17 the
season before. He also won this rin 2016 with Nico de Boinville aboard Nesterenko
Backed at 5/1 with Ladbrokes -
Lingfield 4.50
Epsom Secret
Nearly a year since her last victory and this is her first time on Good going but as she is a daughter of Sakhee's Secret this may bring about some improvement. Currently 4/1 with Coral.Lingfield Road 5.20
Warsaw Road
Cumami - Ryan Moore what's not to like. Restrictive price at 6/4 but representative of his chances.Haydock 2.00
Wait For Me
Well weighted, put up a good show at the festival on his previous run. Enjoys good ground, distance shouldn't be an issue. 5/1 LadbrokesNottingham 4.25
Michele Strogoff
Meets Good to Firm ground for the first time since btn a nk off 87 last year, his previous run on G-F was a close 4th off a rating of 93. Both were in races against some good individuals. His current rating is 75 but as a 5yo I am skeptical if he has lost that much ability. His last run, a decent third, was against horses in form and they pulled well clear of the remainder.
Would prefer if he was still at a mile but I defer to Michael Appleby's better judgement in moving him
up to a mile and a quarter. 7/1 Bet365Ascot 3.25
Dynamic
Haggas in blistering form, Dynamic has only had four races and still seemed a touch green on her last run.
If improving as she should will be rated another 14-21 lbs by the end of this season so could be in this race on
a good mark. Backed at 100/30 with Bet365 but will be a shorter SP I imagine.

Thirsk 7.15
Conversant
Improved to win on his first run for David O'Meara and the upgrade probably isn't finished yet. Draw over 6f at Thirsk is okay but not brilliant however the switch to G-F will probably suit.
7/2 Bet365 -
Thiswaycadeaux 15.40 Curragh
Okay on the ground, has contested better races than this previously and has been upped in trip to something more suitable, he did well to go close over 5.8 furlongs last time out so the extra furlong here with a pound less to carry should be spot on.
He is open to further improvement as this is only his 6th race. The downside is the size of the field, the number of hcap debutants and the lack of experience of his jockey. The draw is not an issue at the Curragh but the skill of the rider in getting a good course position counts for a lot. Currently 8/1 with Bet365 -
These are my picks for today, hoping for good runs from them all and maybe a couple of winners.
Not So Sleepy 15:00 Chester
If in the mood he will go very close as he boasts a course win, loves the ground, has beaten better horses than this, has a good draw, is weighted to get up first and has the assistance of Graham Lee, who although a decent jockey excels at Bath and Chester. The only downsides are his lack of racing (only 19 runs for a 6yo suggests he may be a bit injury prone) and his lack of recent form which I attribute to not adapting to the all weather and never going on the quagmire at Doncaster. Backed at 10/1 with Bet365Maghaweer 15:55 Lingfield
The appearance of Nicklaus is keeping this one of the fav's position. Maghaweer boasts the better form, Richard Hannon can't stop winning (Guineas 66/1 winner demonstrates his current form), Jim Crowley up. Took a chance at 7/2 Paddy Power
Raucous 19:40 Ascot
Think this has a chance of getting in the frame, the Gosden horse should walk it but he has been off for a couple of seasons so nothing is proved yet. Backed at 14/1 Ew with Bet365
Daira Prince 18:45 Nottingham
Has been gelded and wears first time blinkers, if fit enough should have a great chance. Has a great draw and comes from a top stable that does well here. Lamloom is the obvious choice in this race but after only 7 starts I think Daira Prince has the scope to improve further. 5/1 Bet365

Fingerontheswitch 15:45 Huntingdon
Looks extremely well handicapped but currently out of form but get's his ground today and takes on lesser individuals so expect a better showing. Has Phil Donovan claiming 7lb in the saddle who although struggled to get on the board a couple of years ago the penny seems to have dropped now. The extra weight allowance could be the deciding factor. Backed at 11/1 with Ladbrokes this morning he is currently available at 6/1.
