    Russia vs Egypt

This Tuesday evening at 7pm BST we come full circle with the second round of group game fixtures beginning at the Krestovsky Stadium in St Petersburg when host nation Russia look to build on their stunning opening game win over Saudi Arabia against a capable Egypt side.

Russia tore Saudi Arabia apart with a 5-0 victory in the first match of the tournament. It was an unexpected performance from the Russians with many, including myself, having tipped them to have a dour tournament. However, it has rejuvenated the hopes of a nation with many now backing them to get something from this game as well.

Egypt were without Mo Salah in their opening game of the tournament and succumbed to a late goal against Uruguay. It was an abject display by the South American side with Luis Suarez coming under particular criticism for his display. The Egyptians will be ruing not taking something from that game and it now puts more pressure on them to win this game.

Personally, I don't think Russia will play better than they did last Thursday. It was a freak performance against a very poor Saudi Arabia side. I think Egypt will be a much more dangerous team going forward with Salah back and will also offer a more resilient back-line. There won't be much in this game. My favour swings between Russia and Egypt. Home advantage might just see Russia get the draw they'll be satisfied with.

i can agree with this fully but a draw for eqypt is useless. i just see one of them winning, either egypt steals or they loose by going all out for the win and being countered

  2. this forum is solely talking about poland and senegal.....theres 4 teams in the group.....

    anyways.

James is hurt, may not play tomorrow, i think he will but either way he is hurt.....

i saw value on the draw before but now love the play....japans midfield is solid. this will be a midfield game imo.

i do like senegal value against poland tomorrow and i also like the value on egypt ml but fancy the under much more, especially 1H

  3. Aussies +1.5 was the play the whole time. Value lied on the draw immensely but it just didn't pan out.

I don't buy the hype for iceland, they had their shot at the euros, sure they look okay (more so argentina looked uninspiring at times) but their backline is collectively like 160 years old. Messi could win this 3-0 himself. I fancy 3-1 to be fair.

i won France win and clean sheet NO $300, Won the aussies +1.5 in a parlay with argentina -1.5 so hoping for that to pull thru. Have messi to score anytime $500. lost the draw for aussies $200.

Sam Querrey to beat Gilles Simon at 1.90 with bet365

The bookies don't have a clue who's gonna win this match. No lean in any direction, completely even but I think Sam is closer to the win because of the following: Sam has played god awful tennis in his last 4 tournaments, winning just one match.

However, somehow, he came out and dominated a very good player in Frances Tiafoe in the first round. It was a completely different player on the court, and I can't help but think that the same player shows up against Gilles and then Gilles is likely toast. They have a pretty even head to head record, with Gilles ahead 4-3. Gilles posted a nice result in Lyon last tournament, making it to the finals, but it should be noted that he faced little competition along the way with his best win coming against the 85th ranked player in the world in Cam Norrie. I simply think Sam digs deep, and pulls off a second round win because with the right attitude Sam is nowadays better than Gilles even on clay but only if he comes in with the right mindset which I'm hoping he will do here.

i actually like simon.....its a tight match but honestly? tiafoe? a good player? he's horrible.....that quarry win means squat. not to mention quarry has lost 1st round multiple times here.....i don't like his odds.

I now think it's a mistake to bet on Steve Johnson today. He's good but he played two matches yesterday and should be a bit tired and with RG next week it's a bad bet to go for Steve so I'm changing my mind on that bet.

Lol he probably wins now. It always happens like that. We doubt a play and it hits

I think Soler match should be a pretty straight forward win, she is deff the better player.

Mrdeza - Partaud are 2 players not to bee seen in the top of the world tennis, but even though the are not 2 super players, I think Mrdeza is the better player and even if the odds not are that high, i see the value in this double. GL if you follow.

i am. parlay with fognini +6

    Kohlscriebier -125

    - Kohlschreiber recorded a comfortable 6-4/6-4 victory against an out-of-form Bautista Agut in Munich last week and there's no reason to expect a different result on Wednesday morning.

    - Bautista Agut was pushed to the brink by Donaldson on Tuesday, an opponent with zero game on clay.

    - Kohlschreiber sailed through his opener against Sugita 6-4/6-3 and he's playing with confidence, 5 wins on clay in the past 10 days, all coming in straight sets

    - Bautista Agut prefers a quicker, lower bouncing ball coming onto his racket as he doesn't generate his own pace and while the altitude helps with the ball speed he hasn't beaten any elite clay courters at this event, destroyed by Djokovic & Nishikori in recent seasons.

    - Kohlschreiber showed the stronger clay court prowess in his victory last week, yet the oddsmakers haven't adjusted the line. Take advantage of this mistake. Kohlschreiber Moneyline

    Nadal Under 17.5 games +100

    - Monfils showcased his lack of fitness & match practice during his opener and he now faces Nadal, the best clay court player ever

    - Nadal has butchered Monfils on the clay multiple times (Under 17.5 Games 4-1 in their 5 meetings on the dirt - only meeting that went Over was Nadal not at his best).

    - Monfils game is based on athleticism and defense but his movement and energy are non-existent so far in his return from injury

    - Madrid has been one of Nadal's less successful clay court tournaments (only 5 titles!) but his defeats have come against Djokovic, Murray (x2) Verdasco & Federer. He's still capable of hammering inferior opponents

    - Nadal is playing at a peak level on clay right now, expect a demolition of an unfit opponent. Under 17.5 Games

    Schwartzman -250

    Garcia -138

    Wozniacki -163

    Sharapova O21.5 games -110

This matchup has all the signs of creating a match full of intensity and drama

    - Both players are elite clay courters on their day and they went the distance in Stuttgart last year (Mladenovic won 3-6/7-5/6-4).

    - Their two previous meetings have both gone over this number but the clay is an important factor in this matchup

    - Both players are tall with a sizable wingspan, meaning they can create angles and also retrieve more balls in defensive positions, making it harder for either player to dominate for long periods of a match.

    - Both players have had two matches to warm to these conditions, expect both to be in full rhythm

    - I don't trust either player to close out this match in straight sets, expect a deciding third set to cash the Over comfortably. Over 21.5 Games

    Stephens +100

    donskoy +4.5 -138

    Kholscribier 2-0 sets -200

    Cuevas -1.5 games -120

    Medvedev +3.5 -120

    Dimitrov -1.5 games -120

    write up on dimitrov raonic

Raonic is still returning from injury and while he's making significant improvements he's still playing on his least favorite surface and had to withdraw from his 3rd round match in Monte Carlo three weeks ago.

    - Dimitrov carried a slight shoulder injury into Barcelona but he's had two weeks to recover and these conditions will suit, the ball moving quicker through the air due to altitude

    - Dimitrov has struggled on the dirt in the past but he's made huge progress in 2018, looking more confident on the clay. His movement and footwork are excellent.

    - Dimitrov owns a 3-1 record in the head-to-head but this will be the 1st meeting on clay (2009 meeting was at Futures level, not relevant now). The edge is with Dimitrov here, he scrambles and slides into shots brilliantly and his transition from defense to attack is far better than Raonic's on the clay. Expect a comfortable victory. Dimitrov Moneyline

Daniil Medvedev (+1.5 sets) to beat Kyle Edmund at 1.92 with Pinnacle

Edmund looks a bit overrated to me here. Neither guy is a natural clay courter and I really can't see what makes Edmund a 1.40 favourite here. His run in Marrakech I guess, but I'd say that the value is fully with the Russian youngster here, either on the match line or the set handicap.

    my book doesn't offer set handicaps....they offer games though...maybe +4 medvedev ?

  11. what are peoples thoughts on these plays?

    BASHILASIVI VS CHARDY

    Over 22 Games

    - Both players are extremely erratic and the majority of their matches feature numerous momentum swings. This is enhanced further on clay as points are longer.

    - Both players enjoy playing on clay where their topspin heavy games can thrive. They both prefer a high bouncing ball and scramble & slide well on the surface

    - Basilashvili has found some form after a dreadful start to the season, he's reached three consecutive quarter-finals on the clay, two at ATP World Tour level

    - Chardy plays a very aggressive gamestyle and he will go through 'hot & cold' periods during the match. Serving out sets/the match won't be easy, leaving more room for the Over to cash

    - Don't trust either of these players to win convincingly with their poor record of closing out matches. Over 22 Games

    MASUR VS STRUFF

    Masur +4.5 Games

    - These two met at this event last year with Struff prevailing 6-3/6-4. Masur's development has increased significantly in the 12 months since.

    - Masur defeated Rublev & Krajinovic on the clay last year and his form has been slowly returning after missing the early stages of 2018 with an injury

    - He comes in after beating Vatutin & Gombos in qualifying, both wins coming in a deciding third set so he will be match tight & surface warm

    - Struff is just 7-11 in 2018 and fell apart against Cecchinato in Budapest last week. His gamestyle is erratic and he can't be trusted to play consistently for a whole match

    - Masur will be highly motivated having come through qualies, take him to cover the game spread against a mentally weak opponent.
